If there's one thing I hate, it's the Britain vs. America arguments. It mainly consists of "We were just fine without you, yanks. You aren't good for shit." and then "American Revolution, War of 1812, look at how much we kicked your ass." Those are just the bastardized versions but it never really goes anywhere from there and no one can ever agree to just let it go. That being said, there are the occasional English fucknuts online that need to be reminded of the help America didn't have to give them, and same goes for the other side.

Okay rant over, what's on the agenda for today? Has the timeskip happened?

The people who make those arguments are idiots anyway, and shouldn't be listened to. The War of 1812 was about a stalemate and the War of US Independence was largely won by the French. Equally, the British and the rest of Europe would have been buggered at one time or another if not for the US. It's all bloody silly really.

Michael unlocked the door into his home in Dover. It was rather nice for a man of his paygrade.
"Victoria? You home?"
He called out. After a moment he concluded that she must be out with friends, it was friday after all.
Looking to unwind and cool down his emotions, Michael poured himself a glass of whiskey. Beside where the bottle was often placed was a photo of Excalibur squadron taken in '40.
He picked up the frame, rubbing the glass with his thumb and thought back to the good ol days.
Before joining MI6, before that fateful day in 1945, how he was forced to make decisions that would still hang in his mind.
The door opened and Michael reached for his pistol as muscle memory did this.
"Michael! I didn't expect you home."
It was Victoria, michaels wife of 13 years. He met her after a falling out with Alexis.
"how was berlin?"
She asked, putting her arms around his neck.
"it was fine. Glad to be home though."
Victoria was a pretty thing, long blond hair and blue eyes and a nice figure to wrap it all up. Of course, Michael loved her not because of that. But her way of doing things, slow paced and relaxed.
"where are the boys?"
Michael wondered about Matt and Robert.
"theyre at a friends house for the weekend."
The two kissed and Michael put his arms around her waist.
"remember when we met in that bar? How you looked at me?"
Michael lamented what was supposed to be a one-night-stand.
"of course. It was 1940 and I think You were the one that couldn't stop looking at me..."
She chuckled.

(many hours later.....)
A phone rang at michaels side of the bed. He angrily picked it up.
"WHAT?!"
"ah....agent Zilorski, the director wants to debrief you on your most recent assignment."
Michael sighed annoyingly.
"can it wait?"
"well yes bu-"
Michael slammed the phone on it's hook, it made a loud clang.
(the next morning)
Michael made breakfast as per usual. Ham, eggs and sausage.
After a while he was napping on the couch, when a loud bang sounded off.
"JESUS H CHRIST!"
He was startled of course. When he stumbled outside to investigate: what he saw shocked him.
His two boys; Matthew and Robert, 11 and 9 and a friend of theirs were shooting off of all things: bottle rockets.
"HEY'! Matt and robert!"
He called from the porch.
The two little boys walked nervously towards their father.
"I come home after 3 weeks and THAT's how you greet your old man?"
He kneeled down and opened his arms.
The boys embraced and all seemed at peace for Michael....
This. This moment. Maybe that's what he's been fighting for. Not for a government or a crown but his family, the woman that he loved and the children that he cherishes every day.

That's why he fought an everlasting battle: a brighter future and a better life.

Update on progress: I think I have the new flight rosters all nailed down, pending the results of the last of the activity checks. Forging the Sword Part VII is in the last stages of completion, and the OP for the new operation is now underway. I estimate it will go up on Sunday or around there.

michael liked being alone when he drinks. the current pub was near empty with him, the barman and a woman that was occupying a booth.
he eyed her, thinking of ways to get her attention while looking through the bottom of his near empty glass.
"hey barkeep."
he whispered.
"could you get that lovely looking girl a drink?"
the barkeep smiled and poured a tall glass of whiskey.
"excuse me miss? courtesy of the gentlemen at the bar."
she looked up at michael and smiled, motioning him to come to her.
michael, obviously complying with her, walked slowly to the booth and sat down oppisite of her.
"so flyboy. whats your name?"
michael cracked a sly looking smile.
"michael zilorski. and do i get to know yours?"
she was deeply embarrased.
"oh! where are my manners? victoria stevens."
michael touched her hand and held to his mouth, kissing it slightly.
"its a pleasure to meet you, miss stevens."
victoria smiled and withdrawed her hand slowly. michael caught a whiff of her perfume.
damn.......
"so, mr zilorski. where do you come from?"
michael face turned blank as he was forced to think back to his homeland.
"poland. i escaped."
victoria covered her mouth with her hands.
"im so sorry i didnt mean t-"
michael reached for her hand again, holding it gently and smiling.
"its nothing, im here now and thats all that matters.

for about two hours they chatted until the barkeep said it was closing time.
victoria looked at her watch.
"shit! i have to get home! dont you have somewhere to be?"
"no. im on leave."
victoria smiled devilishly.
"so i guess i have to take you in for the night....."
the couple walked out together and climbed in to victorias car, it sped off into the dark night......

Another round of fun facts, in place of the fact that Forging the Sword Part VII and a Friday night party kinda stole my Tempsford posting time away?
For my part: Page's plane, as of its most recent (and likely permanent) paint style is known as the Red Special - the distinguishing mark being a single red band around the plane, to the direct rear of the cockpit.
Noble has yet to decide on any particular motif beyond the standard factory-style job.
