Political System: Multi-Party Democratic Socialist State
Economic System: Socialist Market Economy
Location: Parts of Southern and Eastern Siberia
History: Following the Russian presidential election of 2044, which saw the re-election of the dominant United Russia party's candidate, whom had previously served three terms, nation-wide protests broke out. Coupled with dissent stemming from increasing inequality amidst Russia's economic growth, especially in the Siberian district, a socialist revolution fermented in the streets of Novosibirsk and spread to neighboring cities. Led by a railway station master by the name of Evgeniy Bolshakov, the revolutionaries demanded socialist-style economic reform to combat rising inequality, and also increased democracy.
Elements of the 41st Army which was stationed there were ordered to put down the revolutionaries, leading to what is now commemorated as the Day of Crimson, 22 July 2044, where troops fired upon revolutionaries, killing dozens. That same day, the 85th Motor Rifle Division went rouge, declaring a coup in support of the revolution. Eventually, by nightfall the division had seized control of Novosibirsk and its outskirts, including 41st Army headquarters, from loyalist forces. The 122nd Motor Rifle Division, which was ordered the next day to drive the 85th out, refused to fire upon its sister unit and joined in the coup, securing large tracts of the Siberian district's south for the revolution while the 85th dug in in anticipation of a counter-attack.
Emboldened by the unexpected success of the revolution in the Siberian district, similiar uprisings occurred in the Far East district. Most military units stationed there joined in the coup, though a few elements refused to, culminating in the Battle of Neryungri which saw casualties in the thousands and the loyalist 5th Army being rendered combat-ineffective. It was only on 24 July 2044 that loyalist reinforcements were able to arrive in the region. Facing determined resistance from dug-in elements of what was now known as the '1st Revolutionary Army', the loyalist forces were unable to effect a breakthrough despite repeated assaults. As a result, on 29 July 2044 the Russian government sued for peace, ceding tracts of southern Siberia and the Russian far east to the revolutionary forces.
The inspiration behind the name of Stankovyistan, coined by Evgeniy Bolshakov, is largely unknown, though some have claimed that on 30 July 2044, hours ahead of an international press conference declaring their independence, then Premier Bolshakov had neglected to think of a name and looking up at the AGS-17 automatic grenade launcher mounted atop the vehicle he was riding in, he asked for the meaning behind its designation, which was 'Avtomatischeskyi Granatmyot Stankovyi', and chose to build the new nation's name upon the word Stankovyi ('launcher') to reflect his aspirations for the fledgling nation to launch itself into prosperity.

Non-human Xenophobia is the norm inside the Co-Operative, so they'd definitely be willing to get violent. Danbershan I'm wondering if this would be okay with you, and if so perhaps you could give me some info on where these protesters would be, and what sort of security detail they would be facing? Etc...

By sort of monarchy, I mean there is a leader that is effectively the king, but that is not his title. There are also the equivalent of nobles. 'll deal with the other stuff later. I'm tired.
400-500 would be just about OK, but only as long as its a very young population, and there's been some ectogening going on. Orangutans aren't the type to have quickly-growing populations. Well how would that 'culture' have crossed over? What is it composed of, and how is it defined as a culture rather than psychology? And OK, you'll need to detail how your monarchy works. Whatever they call him, its still a monarchy. But is constitutional, absolute, somewhere in between? How is power delegated to others?
Cool, look forward to it.
