Lyoko Returns, Part I: Across the Digital Sea <IC>

[The Mighty Islands]

Tom almost slammed his head on his desk, now XANA was following him and keeping tabs. Tom looked over at Johnathan only to keep up appearances of being another normal student. After that, Tom looked back to the teacher who was handing out useless information regarding the class and his policies. Tom signed his name, then his father's and added different dates before tucking it into his backpack.

[Vetega]

Jonathan smiled at Tom in a friendly way.
'I'm not a spy! '
'You are until I decide it's time to move to the next level. ' Xana replied.

Jonathan frowned at the paper. His father's name would not be signed. His father was no longer alive.

[Mewsland]

Yuzuki paused her search. "Earth... Code: Earth. Code: Earth? What in Lyoko's name is that? Graham, Zian, Alexis, come on up. I might have just found something amazing. Let me check... Tom? I need you to run a program search on Code: Earth. I just found it, but the supercomputer's not allowing access from my end. See what you can do."

[Natair]

Yuzuki paused her search. "Earth... Code: Earth. Code: Earth? What in Lyoko's name is that? Graham, Zian, Alexis, come on up. I might have just found something amazing. Let me check... Tom? I need you to run a program search on Code: Earth. I just found it, but the supercomputer's not allowing access from my end. See what you can do."

Zian sprinted forward, up the tower. He was breathing heavily, but kept running.
"What? You kidding? That sounds like it has something to do with our world!" he said, then facepalmed. "Well that wasn't obvious. Anyway, what is that? Any idea?"

Tom leaned down to his wristwatch and pretended to be bored with the teacher. The small ear piece was still in his ear, otherwise her voice would have been heard from the speaker throughout the class room.

Tom whispered into his watch, "Kind of busy, I'll see what I can do." Tom raised his hand and asked to use the bathroom. The teacher pointed to a sign that said, 'One at a time to the bathroom.' Tom had to wait another five agonizing minutes before the other student returned and Tom shot out the door. As he quickly walked to the bathroom, once out of Johnathan's sight, he began a program search on Code: Earth.

[Vetega]

'Something's going on. '
'I know. We'll find out soon enough. '
'Yes we will. Now I have a mission for you. I'm going to activate a Tower in World 3. Prepare yourself. '

Jonathan smiled. He would get to do more damage.

The search on Code: Earth would yield amazing results.

Code: Earth was a materialization program. Originally designed for Aelita, could the program work with Yuzuki?

"So, what's the story, Tom? What is Code: Earth?" Yuzuki sighed. She had been waiting for nearly ten minutes, and was wondering what was going on in the real world. "If I don't hear something soon, I'm going to wonder what's up."

"So, what's the story, Tom? What is Code: Earth?" Yuzuki sighed. She had been waiting for nearly ten minutes, and was wondering what was going on in the real world. "If I don't hear something soon, I'm going to wonder what's up."

"What is it? Seriously, don't mess with me like this! What is it?!" Zian asked, staring at his closest friend. "Sorry, you know what I mean. I can get impatient sometimes." he added, looking guilty. "Anyway, what is it?"

World 3

Xana stood alone. No backup. He wouldn't need it. Bringing his own human form into the fold had given him more power. He touched the tower and a red aura surrounded it.

Earth
'The tower is online. Go. '
'Understood. '
He raised his hand.
"Yes Gaiard? "
"I gotta pee man. Tom's been gone for over ten minutes. "
"Alright go. Hurry back. "

Jonathan speed walked out of the room, through the building and out the front door. That's when the power went out. The chaos was immediate. Jonathan ran into the forest and stopped. His stab would still hurt. He knelt down and touched the ground, causing an earthquake 6.9 on the Richter scale. The city shook. He could hear the screams, car crashes and gasline explosions. He smiled. The earthquake went up to 7.8. He stood up and ran to the city while dodging falling trees.

Tom fell to the ground as the ground shook, "I have no idea," Tom said, "I'll send you the information. Be careful, there's an active tower in world 3." Tom got up and ran out of the school as fast as he could, trying to doge falling objects as he got closer to the factory.

[Vetega]

Jonathan stopped and turned.
"Tom is on the move. "
'Intercept. '
"Got it. "
Jonathan teleported to the factory. He stood on the bridge right in front of the door. He watched as a skyscraper fell in the distance. He grinned. All of this wanton destruction. He loved it.

Yuzuki's Tower

Xana appeared in front of the tower. He did not attack, or touch it. He just stood there. The fog cleared around him. Now the tower and the surrounding area were clear. He didn't bother masking his presence.

[Zarkenis Ultima]

Graham simply stood by idly as Yuzuki carried out her program search, absent-mindedly staring towards nowhere, immersed in his thoughts once again. However, when Yuzuki seemed to be astonished at something she had found while she ran her program search, Graham snapped out of his apparent trance and listened to what she said, which turned out to be only more instructions aimed towards Tom. He stood by, no longer idle in case something important was said.

Soon however he overheard Tom saying over the link that XANA had activated another tower in Lyoko. "We have to go deactivate it, correct? We should go." He said. He wanted to protect this world.

[Mewsland]

Yuzuki facepalmed. "We do that, Xana takes this one. He's right outside the shield. We have to protect Tower VIII for now."

As the results of Tom's Code: Earth search came in, Yuzuki gasped. "Guys, apparently Code: Earth is the materialization program that was used to allow my sister to return to Earth while they were searching for her memory fragment! This could be the key to allow me to finally return to Earth after all these years. I've missed the sensations of that world, seeing as you lose most of them here!"

Earth

The city shook more violently. More buildings fell onto screaming people below. Fire engulfed the ones that still stood. However, the quake didn't end. It got even stronger. 8.9 and climbing. He would do as much damage as possible. Those were his orders.

[Zarkenis Ultima]

Graham instantly took a step back when Yuzuki facepalmed. After hearing her words, for a moment or two he wanted to tell her that he had only just arrived to that world and was not a master in regards to how things worked there just yet. However, he suppressed that urge. Despite what he thought, she was right, they had to defend the tower. And if it was the only way to preserve Lyoko then he was more than willing to do it.

A small, whispered apology escaped him before he listened to Yuzuki explain the results of Tom's search. It was a program for her to materialize in Earth. It was not entirely clear why she wanted to go back but he supposed she had her reasons. He himself had only just arrived and was determined to keep this world safe already. Should everything have been reversed, he doubted he would feel the same duty towards Earth.

"For now, though, we have to defend this tower, correct?" He said, drawing his bow as he did so.

[Mewsland]

"Indeed. Let's get to work!"

Yuzuki emerged from the tower. "Xana, Xana, Xana. Always with never hiding yourself. What brings you to this neighborhood again?"

[Natair]

Yuzuki facepalmed. "We do that, Xana takes this one. He's right outside the shield. We have to protect Tower VIII for now."

"I'll go." Zian said, drawing his sword and beginning to descend from the tower. "Yuzuki, you're not taking on him alone." he said, holding his sword ready. He wasn't letting her go alone.
"Don't try to leave me behind. You know I won't."

Xana looked at Yuzuki and Zian. Then Graham came out as well.
"I don't need to hide. Not this time. This is but a test. " he replied.

He glanced at Zian.
"Three against one? That's hardly fair. For you. " he added.

He made no move to attack. He just crossed his arms and stood there.

Tom ducked back as he saw Johnathan near the factory. Instead, he activated the mobile communicator and accessed the blueprints of the factory. Tom made a few selections, and the entire factory closed itself off. Massive steels doors, enforced by the massive superstructure, shut over the entrances, locking anyone out. Inside, every door shut, locked, and reinforced itself. It would not stop Johnathan, but it would slow him down. Still out of sight, Tom rushed back to the school and to the old underground tunnel, and from there, opened a single door and ran towards the super computer.

Xana looked at Yuzuki and Zian. Then Graham came out as well.
"I don't need to hide. Not this time. This is but a test. " he replied.

He glanced at Zian.
"Three against one? That's hardly fair. For you. " he added.

He made no move to attack. He just crossed his arms and stood there.

"Perhaps you should change your tune, Xana, considering the last engagement was - what? 200 against 4? And, by the way, a test of what?"

[Vetega]

Xana smiled.

"The test is simply that. A test. It's up to you whether you pass or fail. " he replied.

Earth
'Worry about Tom later. Destroy the city. '
'Finally. '

Jonathan looked back at the factory.
"Another time. "
He flew into the city. Seconds later, explosions could be seen. The earthquake continued, even though the city was a pile of rubble.

[Natair]

"You know, I'm getting sick of you already!" Zian snapped, charging forward with his heavy sword ready. He was being reckless, he knew, but he had friends to protect. His striking first would, in theory, mark him as the main target. His recklessness might also make him a primary target. Whatever worked.

[Vetega]

Xana gazed upon him and grabbed the blade with his bare hand.

"You are not skilled in the art of swordplay. Not enough to defeat me. "

An invisible wall of energy blew him back to Yuzuki's feet. He returned his attention to her.

"Give me the Keys. Last chance before I kill all of you. "

[Natair]

"Aaagh!" Zian grunted as he landed, then jumped back to his feet, shaking off the disorientation flying through the air caused.
"You aren't killing anyone! Not now, never again!" Zian shouted, lifting his sword again. "I'm sick of seeing my friends hurt because of YOU, you sick freak! YOU are the one who's going to die!"
Zian grinned, almost evilly.
"And I'm gonna be the one to do it."

[Vetega]

Xana merely smiled. A sword appeared in front of him. It floated in mid air. He would not need to move.
"Show me what you got kid. " he replied.
