Alain Toth arrived at a late time as he was quite the slothful bastard as he was usually. "Greetings, I am a bit late, don't mind me." Alain said monotonously whilst holding two dull wooden swords, "Pathetic looking at the moment," noted Alain Toth as he looked at the two weapons, "Will be useful when infused with magic.", Alain nodded to himself, and began to channel a small amount of fire magic into the swords, heating them up just enough to hurt someone by touching. "Pure skillz!" thought Alain as he made a awesome face.

Antonius Ruta

'Little bastard waltzes in late like it's his damn job. He doesn't even try to make up for it. Must be one of Lance's relatives, or something equally stupid.'

Ruta gave another heavy sigh as he saw the cocky, immature Alain walk into his class without a care in the world. He would like nothing more than to slap the boy upside the head and knock some sense into him, but considering the Academy's rules, Ruta would be punished himself for such an absence. "That is not 'pure skill', that is magic that someone else learned five thousand years before you did. That is called 'imitation', Toth." he said, shaking his head at the boy.

"Now...who am I to fight?" she asked with a swish of her tail.

"Sparring matches will come later in the class, and even so, you must find a willing partner. For now, we will be teaching the first years and those unacquainted with today's topic in enchantments." Ruta said to Carmella, glad to see that she was already proficient enough in her magic to create a blade from mana alone.

Watching Alain channel his fire magic into his blade, Sol wondered if that was what they were supposed to be doing. He raised his hand and called to the teacher. "P-Professor?" he called, "...I-Is that what we're supposed to do?...Channel our mana i-into our weapon?...O-Or are we supposed to do...s-something else?" He felt like he was missing something, since everyone else around him was already certain of themselves and of their abilities.

"Yes, Soleil, that is precisely what we will be doing today. Now, in a few moments, Miss Perennique and I will begin the lesson, if everyone else hasn't already made their own weapons, from mana or otherwise." Ruta replied, looking around him and observing that every student that needed a sword either had one in their possession or already created one.

Clearing her throat, Lynefleur called out to the class, her mismatched blue and green eyes glowing with a kind of excitement and anticipation of what she would soon see. "Now then, seeing that everybody has a weapon, hopefully one of the wooden swords provided to you, we can start this off." she said hopefully, still in Aria's soft, gentle voice. It still sounded so authentic, as if it was her real voice, and that she had only been hiding it for all this time.

"We would like for everyone to be seated for this little demonstration of ours. If anyone would like to volunteer, and show the rest of the class how enchantment is performed, step forward." Lyn finished, holding her wooden sword in her left hand.

Soleil nodded, but at the sound of Aria's voice coming from Lyn, he ducked his head again. If he could cover his ears without drawing attention to himself, he would. It just seemed so unnatural. He had never seen anything like it, a person mimicking another person's voice so well, and in front of an entire class of people. It was as though she was mocking them with it, and specifically, she was mocking Aria. He turned around to see how she was reacting to this.

Henry Von Kressel

He was taught to hide many things. Pain, discomfort, tiredness, all of those were simple for him. But now, he had to use every knowledge he had to hide it, and hoped it would work. Involuntarily, he looked at Aria, mostly because he only associated that voice with her.

As he gave her a reassuring look, he waited for the lesson to start, but he knew he had to talk to her after it. Maybe she knew her from somewhere, after all.
Nothing to see here, move along.

The bold Comnena stepped forward, blade in hand, saying not a word to the Lightbearer. She faced toward Lyn, giving only an unflinching, unblinking stare, to which Lyn smiled, as if that was the exact expression she had expected from Aria.

The both of them stood at the same height, possessed the same lean, muscled frame, and each one's complexion was as pale as the other's. Their faces held the same facial characteristics, with a less than prominent nose, rosy cheeks, large eyes, and long eyelashes. The only difference between the two was in eye and hair color, and even then it was as if Aria was looking in a mirror, only she saw Lyn's image instead of her own.

The semblance was indeed uncanny. Lyn looked like a lighter, fluffy clone of Aria, right down to the way she stood. Even worse, Lyn was smiling at Aria's displeasure, as though she was expecting this from her. Why was she doing this? Was she planning to draw a specific reaction from Aria? He remembered, then, the horrible duel Aria had against Alex, and how she had gone insane during that match. How Rabbit and Ruta both had to step in, to stop them from killing each other.

...That insanity...I-Is this teacher...t-trying to cause this here?...B-But...doesn't she know what could happen...if she does?!

He was thinking of saying something, of standing up for Aria. Yet Lyn was a teacher. She could easily shoot him down if his claims of bullying seemed unsubstantiated. Besides, it could always be a coincidence. Lyn could just look really similar to Ari...

No...No, it's not a coincidence! Something is wrong. She's trying to do something to Aria! But...what?

His own hands began to shake, and he hid them under his desk, so nobody could see them. He wanted to say something, but he wasn't sure what exactly to say.

I won't be quiet looking at this.

With a firm hand, he fixated his spear in the ground, before he walked to Aria. Again, his hand rested on her shoulder, as a reassuring gesture of safety and support, no matter what she was about to do. In a firm tone of voice, he was finally able to say something.

"Aria, everything okay? Ms. Perennique, sorry if I may sound invasive, but why are you imitating Aria's voice?"

Now that Henry was speaking-up, Soleil felt a little better about maybe saying something. "...Pl-Please, M-Ms. Perennique...th-this isn't right...and it's worrying Aria...i-it's not right...t-to bully the students..." he stammered, feeling like a sitting duck as he sat right in her direct line of vision. He felt for sure she would zap him for speaking up, if Ruta didn't beat him to it.

"I'm...sorry? I don't know what you mean, I'm not imitating anyone." Lyn replied to Henry and Soleil, incredulous and confused. The worst part of it was that she was speaking the truth. It was no game, it was no imitation. None of it was. She had no Lightbearer illusions at play, nor had Lyn changed her voice in the slightest. She didn't know what they expected her to respond with, but in this instance she could answer honestly.

Aria simply disregarded Henry's gesture of protection, focusing solely on the woman in front of her. If she let her conscience slip for even a moment, there would be a very bloody Lyn lying dead on the floor in a few seconds. Her body seemed to generate an intense heat, and a distinct flash of purple glinted in her eyes.

Ruta watched cautiously, keeping a close eye on Lyn, wondering what the hell was going on and why the students already sounded so apprehensive about her. And yet, something in the back of his mind had gnawed at him from the very second he had met her...All was not as it seemed.

Taking his eyes off his sword, he fixated them towards Aria who seem to have her fists balled up in a defensive position; as if she was ready to strike. And along with the blade in her hand, that striking will be the outcome. The resemblance between the two were practically identical even to their voices. The only thing saving them from basically being twins were their eye and hair color; the young Aria with her crimson hair and golden eyes and Lyn with her white and faint pink hair and green and blue eyes.

In his mind, he didn't really want to deal or witness anything violent or ridiculous between them. And along with Henry standing up to comfort his better half and Soleil stepping up to say something, there was a high chance that things will going to be escalating. Though when and how will be the question that needed to be answered. 'Good, God. Where is this going?' Shaun thought as he softly sighed and got up from his seat to move around a bit and calm his ever anxious and irritated nerves. He took his sword with him and clenched it tightly just in case something were to happen; hopefully, it wouldn't come to such a situation.

Henry Von Kressel

I do believe in coincidences, but this is too much.

He kept his hand on Aria's shoulder, hoping that it would calm her down. With an extremely polite tone, one that could even say that beared a small hint of irony, he answered Ruta's assistant.

"Then pardon me, Ms. Perennique. At this rate, I already had to learn how to deal with such amazing coincidences in such a small world like the magical one. Isn't it funny that you bear a striking resemblance to my friend, and you just found her?"

Irony was uncommon to Henry. He usually spoke directly, without any kind of mystification behind his intentions, but now, Aria was involved. He made a promise to protect her, and to stand for her, and he would do it, no matter the size of the threat. And there he was, willing to prove it, standing right in front of Lyn.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Ambrosia narrowed her eyes and sighed loudly, as she watched the two boys questioning Lyn. First of all, she wasn't exactly sure herself what Lyn was planning to do, and then she didn't like the intense look in Aria's eyes. She was obviously a powerful Mage, and she could potentially pose a problem later, once they got the Tome. Then she was hoping that the two boys would stop badgering Lyn, because she wanted the class to continue so she could leave.

Catherine de Sanguine Vivere

Lyn's mirroring of Aria unsettled Catherine even more. It just felt wrong, something was going on that she needed to figure out. And if it ended with the light mage screaming helplessly in a sea of black all the better. That thought seemed normal to Catherine, which was odd. She didn't know it yet but her confrontation with Lyn was almost ordained, the dark scrapping away at the light. Erebus and her lineage drove her to extinguish this beacon.

Hailey Winters

Hailey could feel the tension growing in the air, and faded back away from the confrontation. This was exactly the kind of thing she didn't want to get caught up in. She didn't know what was going on, and didn't care. So she went back to her desk and focused on making the vibrations of her toy sword more powerful.

Annice Null

Annice went back to her seat and joined Katelyn. She wasn't going to participate in the sparring. She already more than knew what Mbrojtës was capable of, and she was afraid of hurting her partner. Their wood blades couldn't get through her armor, but Mbrojtës would cut them down like paper. Enough blood had flowed down this blade already, no more was needed. She also ignored the stupid little spat forming with Lyn and Aria. the confrontation was already starting to make her anxious, so she sought solace with her friend.

"Whatcha going to do with your toy?"
The year’s at the spring,
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hill-side’s dew-pearled;
The lark’s on the wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven—
All’s right with the world!

"...I don't know," Katelyn said, staring at the tiny wooden sword with a sigh. "Maybe I'll set it to whip up a tornado whenever I swing it. Or come back to me like a boomerang or something... I wish it was a spear, then I could practice that 'fragment' spell the Prof mentioned. But fat lot of good that'll do me on a freaking sword, y'know?"

"You have a spear? I could help you enchant it if you want. I did most of Mbrojtës enchantments myself. Also, I kind of like enchanting. It's calming. Gives you a chance to make something. You can be artsy with it to if you want. I should have the money for the materials we'd need for a high quality job."

Annice was already thinking about what she could do with the enchantment, how she would weave together the spells to make a fine companion for her friend. Even just getting lost in the details of the job started to calm her. Though, she had no idea where to get the gold and platinum that the build would need, if she really wanted to make it something special. The regimented way of thinking needed to make high quality enchantments appealed to her, but at the same time there was freedom to do just about anything you wanted, you just needed to know how.

Lynefleur Perennique

'This is certainly an inquisitive bunch, that much is certain. All this fuss over how I look and sound. Why must these teenagers be so dramatic? All I've done so far is speak...'

Lyn shrugged her shoulders and smiled at Henry, playing her part. "It is indeed strange...And yet not unheard of, in this 'small world' of ours. And as you say, I have not seen your friend until now, so how would I be able to imitate her? And what reason would I possibly have for doing so?" Lyn replied, raising an eyebrow and looking into Henry's eyes.

Luminesa wrote:"...B-But...you sound...just like her...a-and...she...Professor," he requested, turning to the front of the room, "I-I may not be the best at it, but...i-if I could take Aria's place...ummm..." He didn't want for Aria to potentially lose her sanity and to go on a killing spree, and he noticed the glow in her eyes. He would hate to mess-up in front of so many people, but if it kept Aria sane and stable, then he was willing to go for it.

"If you wish to take her place, then I'm sure you'll be more than willing to ask Aria." Lyn nodded, smiling coyly at Soleil and leaning on her sword like a cane. If she couldn't see the girl's magic, then she would need to be content with seeing how well the boy performed. But hearing his frail, stuttering voice and seeing his tiny frame, she honestly didn't expect much.

Henry Von Kressel

Don't back off. Make a stand. For you, for Aria. Once in a lifetime you found someone that it's worth fighting for. Stand still, look at her and answer.

He stared right back at her eyes, to the point where he could his own reflection in them.

"And why do you think there would be a reason? I just said it was a coincidence, and as you just said, it's not unheard of. Therefore, I just wanted to know if this was simply a rather funny meeting between two persons that look a lot like each other, or if you were demonstrating some technique. Now that you answered my question, I see no reason to debate it further."

This woman is strange. Very strange.

"Excellent! Now that that's all cleared up, we can soon begin!" Lyn said cheerfully, sidestepping Henry's question on whether or not she was demonstrating an art that was unknown to the rest of the students in the room. She was extremely capable of projecting her voice somewhere she was not, and even had the ability to change her voice, but she had used neither of those techniques in front of the class today.

Aria Comnena

Aria held her sword with an iron grip, and her gaze had not moved, entirely fixated on Lyn. She hated looking at this woman, who looked exactly like her in almost every conceivable way, and gave her a mocking, knowing smile that made her skin crawl. Aria wanted dearly to cut her down like the tiny little faker she was, and to drown her in a sea of her own blood, to subject her to all the horrors that this pretty little 'lily flower' had never even seen, that Aria knew far too well. All it would take was one strike...

Lynefleur gave her such a feeling of hatred and anxiety that it took Henry and Soleil to bring her back to reality, and to banish the anger from her eyes. The blonde haired, blue eyed Venta called out to Aria, and reluctantly, she answered him.

"...Fine. Do as you will." she said, her voice cold and emotionless. Aria walked away from the front of the room and back to her seat, where she laid her saber on her desk and waited for the lesson to begin.

Soleil watched her walk past, and he quietly stood and walked to the front of the room. He secretly wished Henry would offer himself in his place, as he hated demonstrating in front of large groups of people. However, he knew he was doing this for Aria, and so he tried not to be scared. He held his sword ready, clenching the old wooden handle in his hands, and keeping his eyes down. He knew that Lyn was watching him, and he reminded himself to focus on the lesson, on controlling his mana. He closed his eyes and thought of something soothing. His little mana-fawn. He took a deep breath, and waited for Ruta's instructions.

Catherine de Sanguine Vivere

Void clouded over Catherine's eyes as she continued to glare at Lyn. A halo of darkness formed around her. Still in the library, Erebus would have smiled, had he lips. "My queen, we shall drown her in endless night. Be patient." Catherine felt her companion's thoughts brush against her, and reached out in kind. "Have I ever been anything but? We will wait. And we will bring her low." Still Catherine felt nothing wrong about these thoughts, they seemed perfectly natural, they seem to be right. She looked at the blood kopis in her hand, and focused on it. Changing the proteins in it, forming compounds foreign to the animal kingdom. She had never worked on this craft at mana, instead it was part of the private studies of her past. Slowly the compound began to cover the edge of her blade. Amanullin, a mushroom poison. Almost untraceable until it had alread done enough damage to kill, amanullin was something she was taught to make as a tool of assassination.

Annice Null

"I would love to do it! I really do enjoy enchanting. I think there's a shop on the shore that would sell what I need. I'll have to see if I can fly over there after class. I'd say about three ounces of gold and the same of platinum should do it. Will need a good mana crystal as well probably about fifty carat. Hmm, going to be a bit pricey. I think it will be worth it though. After class I'll fly over and get what I need, then we can start working on it. You'll have to tell me what kind of spells you want to channel through it. If you have that figured out tonight we can start on it as soon as I have the materials."

Plans for runes were already running through Annice's head. How she would build the mana channels and what other enchantments could be attracted to the spear. If Kate wanted it to be able to duplicate itself, then the original would act as a master spear, focusing Kates controls over the others. She didn't tell Kate how much this would cost, but she had a good idea that just the basic materials would cost about ten thousand dollars. She didn't want Kate to worry about that, she just wanted to do something for her.

Now that you answered my question, I see no reason to debate it further."

Lynefleur Perennique

Of course, that was when she answered him. He wasn't expecting her to answer-he had asked Ruta-and then he certainly wasn't expecting her to take him up on his offer. Nevertheless, accepted her offer, and he looked toward Aria nervously. "...A-Aria...I...I-I'll take your place...i-if you want..." he stammered. He only wanted to protect her, to keep this teacher from messing with her.

...I can't let Ms. Perennique hurt Aria...and I can't let her...taunt my friends, either...

He shivered, then, as he awaited her answer.

Henry Von Kressel

Aria's reaction clearly showed the she felt uncomfortable with Lynefleur. As he walked back to his seat, he first stopped at Soleil.

"Thanks. I'll not forget it."

After it, he removed his spear from the ground, retracting it back and guarding it inside his gauntlet. He calmly observed around in the way, and was definitely impressed by Soleil's reaction. As he sat at Aria's side, he looked to her, again speaking low enough so only she could hear it.

"It's alright now, Aria. Your friends are here, I'm here."
Nothing to see here, move along.
