Historically, the standing army at this time numbered over 1 million, and had the world's largest shipyards. I understand your need for balance, but how the hell can an army of 100,000 hope to contain, defend, or subdue a population of 125,000,000? (Especially in a pre-industrial era?)

Well, an army of a million needed to watch over his nation wouldn't be able to spare it's entire bulk to fight wars. It would have to leave many thousands behind to keep the homeland safe.

How about a compromise? Lets say 1 million total, but only 100-200,000 can leave Chinese empire boundaries?

Thats still a ton. Although you should have quite a few you probably shouldn't have any more than about 250-300,000 men.

True but still. I do not want to risk it. I guess. Ok, chinese player.
You can have 1,000,000 soldiers, but you cannot send more than 120,000 into war. Also for everybody we will have random events. So the more you expand and have a larger army the more penalties. Now you will not be spammed but everyone will have good and bad events according to their IC posts. Also 3 more nations and I will make IC
