I'll stick with my Spitfire. I mean really, our aircraft in the early part of the war sucked.

Also, are we still getting that leave promised after the current mission? I'm planning another massive dive into Talbot's private life while he's on leave, and I just need to know if he'll be away from the squadron long enough for me to play things out as I envision it.

Yeah, there'll be some leave time, a few weeks or so most likely.
I was toying with the idea of actually stationing the squadron in Alexandria temporarily, as the war is shifting to the Med at this point, but I just don't think it's practical. And I wanted to maybe write a few one-shots for Page and Noble in the intervening time.

We could use it to develop tactics against it, say some one takes it and another flys against him.

Erm, hello all.

So, I noticed this is still active...

Well long story short I would love to jump back in at some point. Since I see you didn't kill off my American, (thanks for that by the way), a transfer back to the RAF is neither unheard of nor unprecedented even when the Americans were in the middle of the war. (See Eagle Squadrons).

So... yeah.

Please? A Sword 15 would round everything out nicely.

Your arrival is timed perfectly since one of the squadron's members has been wounded and probably cannot continue with the op.

Let me guess, your character's name is going to be "Benjamin Silva" isn't it? :p

I'm working on a post from the LRDG perspective, but since I'm at school currently, it won't be up until late afternoon or evening.

Seems like Sword 4 and 10 slots should be open too. Britcan and E. Ormania have not posted in ages. Are they still in or not?

Name: Robin van Greevin
Age: 27
Rank: Luitenant
Physical Description/Picture: 5 foot 9, slim build. Thick dark hair with green eyes. Former amateur boxer, so quite strong
Country of Origin: Netherlands
Flight/Flight Combat Experience (good sources for experience could be the Spanish Civil War, maybe stunt pilot training, or simply previous Air Force experience): Former pilot for the Dutch Navy, involved in some search and rescue operations. Courier pilot for Republicans in Spain
Ground Combat Experience (Highly recommended, but not entirely necessary - this can be trained): previously had been an inductee into the Dutch Army, not field experience
Specialties (air or ground - communications, demolitions, disguises, languages, etc.): Speaks 4 languages including English, German and French
RP Experience (not necessary, but helpful): No relevant experience in this form, however as my previous nation Cosgravia I was an active member of Excalibur.
Personal History/Bio (more than one line please): Born to Belgian immigrants in Rotterdam, Robin struggled through most of his early years. He was constantly picked on for having Belgian blood and therefore not being a proper Dutchman. Robin began boxing at age 9, and quickly developed a skill for it. He became obsessed with flying, and jumped at the chance to join the Dutch Navy in their air wing. This at least got him out of national service a year early. Robin left the Navy and went travelling around Southern Europe, eventually getting got up in the Spanish Civil War. He served as a press ganged courier for the Republicans. Robin wound up in Britain after fleeing Rotterdam after the German invasion and blitz of the city. He escaped aboard a small sailing boat his uncle had owned, and washed up in Dorset two days later after somehow evading the Royal Navy. He had been imprisoned for being an enemy spy, but quickly released after he was found to be just a normal Dutchman. He joined the RAF, and soon requested a transfer to Excalibur.

I'm still here, however I've been busy with exams over the last couple of weeks so Matthias missed the current mission due to injuries sustained at the start of the previous mission. He'll be back in action for the next mission.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

Len,

I hate to be nitpicky, but we are still in 1940, so the Pacific Theater has not kicked off yet.

Brit, as you've seen, is still in, but a bit inactive at the moment. He's stayed in contact, though, so he's all right.
Ormania, I think, is past the deadline. There's an open spot there.

Great to have you back, Cos/Felkland!
Definitely accepted. Although now the squadron is about 25-30% Dutch, for some reason. Wonder why?

So Hyet and Felkland: you two will likely have to wait until the next operation in order to introduce yourselves, as our current one is already underway. I recommend you brush up on the old ops that happened since you boys left. Good to have you back!

So yeah, I would definitely advise you guys to read up on Guillotine/Mordred/Cambyses in time for the next operation. I've got it all planned out, of course. Feel free to TG me any questions you may have.
Also, the bars got closed and were replaced with the multipurpose Tempsford hangout thread (we also moved from RAF Manston Heath to the SOE Headquarters at RAF Tempsford).
