The Sulitan listened to the translator speak and nodded. At once the ruler shouted out orders and men behind him began to scurry. They opened up doors leading into the school. Harq Al-Ada began to walk into the building. The translator beckoned the newcomers to follow. As the Sulitan passed by guards they stood at attention. Leading them through the hallways of the school Harq Al-Ada spoke about it. "This is the school of Dar Al-Hikman, the academic center of the world," the translator told the strangers. Walking through a door-less passage the group entered a large lavishly decorated room. Scrolls and maps lined the walls. Reliefs circled the roof. Sailors and stars could be seen made in tile. Caravans, ships and farmers could be seen looking up to the stars. The room opened up to a balcony that looked over the city. In the distance sailing ships could be seen coming to and from the harbor. The Sulitan spoke. "My liege is quoting proverbs." the translator said to the group. "Those who cannot bare the great fire are those who tend the fields of the nomad. Please, sit, you are welcomed," the translator added. The Sulitan spoke again, pointing at several scrolls. Aids rushed forward to open them and show them to the group. "This," the translator said, pointing at the maps, "Is the Leto Empire. To the north, here, is were we are exploring and settling. Much is unknown about the north that I desire to find out," he finished, obviously meaning the Sulitan was the one interested in exploring.

The people started to look at the designs for some of these and started to show that they have just started scratching the surface of what they can do, already they had started to point things out and saw the sailing ships and started to remind themselves of the Old Theocratium and the rise of the Ulyth'th Host that sailed to Tredera so long ago and found the colony of Xergiok, but that was before the Dark Times. When she sat down, her second-in-command and the navigator who gave the map and another one and laid it down but the maps of the Leto Empire and started to put their strange eldritch markings as points of interest as they had started to show the ruins and then she started to speak and the translator was motioned to do so," We are here, to the west and beyond the sea here. We are called many things, some old and dead, others new and alive. We are called Storm People, Xel'nox, or even the Theocratium, which was our old country before the Dark Times. Howver, we are called Stao'nonxizil or Ash People or even called Pale People if you would like. The ruins that your are exploring are known to a race of advance people called the Armalite Dominion, which at one time were one of the most advance civilzations in the world before the Dark Times, it seem that they did not survive but perhaps their allies or their enemies, the countries called Ney Zyirus and Arcea but it has been decades, even centuries sent we have step foot on this continent." She tried to explained to the Sultan.

The translator spoke to the Sulitan. The man's face turned very serious when hearing about the collapse of a great empire. The names of these other civilizations were also strange. The Sulitan spoke, pointing out the void of their maps in the north. "We have never met these Arcean and Ney Zyirusians. Never before have our sailors ventured so far north. Little is known of the south, besides that it is full of sandy waves" the translator told the group. "We have also never heard of your people nor of these western lands. The Sulitan suggests that the scribes draw maps of these lands and trade them or copy your maps. He is interested in any other civilizations to trade with. Also the history of these peoples whom of which we have never heard." The translator turned to the Sulitan who spoke a few more words to him. "Trading of peoples is the water of human society," the translator said, once again quoting scripture.

The Skymaster motioned the navigator to give them the maps as a gift as the translator said" our people have copied many maps of old so count this as a gift, they maybe out of date since they have been recorded by our vaults, but they should give you some insight on the lands you have just settled. It will also be in our best interest for our castes and your scholars to get to know our people and the history before the Dark Times and where have you came from for we have not heard of the Empire of Leto and your origins will be more likely to be studied by our Chronoshamans who have been trying to get the complete new history of the Northern Lands."

Astronomy Half Day
How the Altarians went so long without making use of the science Astronomy it''s a mystery but now it's accomplished the study of the stars and indeed the entire Universe is back in effect.Scientist and scholars have stormed the remnants of the Great Library and found a tall tower expertly made to withstand thousands of years from the classical age.Inside the Tower was a advanced telescope and tons of books on the stars and planets recorded supernovas from the classical age a rare comet shower in the 1200's and a eclipse in the year 700.This amazes the scientists of today and with the funding of Congress this part of the Great Library is reconstructed The Library in itself is more of a mini city then a library so it would take years to rebuild it all. Many scientist theorize if there is life beyond Terra and wonder if someday colonies could be built thru out the Solar system and across the Universe.

Physics (I checked with Harkback he said its okay to replace techs this one time)
Physics is the natural science that involves the study of matter and its motion through space and time, along with related concepts such as energy and force. More broadly, it is the general analysis of nature, conducted in order to understand how the universe behaves.Physics is one of the oldest academic disciplines, perhaps the oldest through its inclusion of astronomy. Over the last millennia, physics was a part of natural philosophy along with chemistry, certain branches of mathematics, and biology, b Physics intersects with many interdisciplinary areas of research, such as biophysics the boundaries of physics are not rigidly defined. New ideas in physics often explain the fundamental mechanisms of other sciences while opening new avenues of research in areas such as mathematics and philosophy. This allows Airships and more accurate guns.Unfortunately this advancement in science and a distant view with the Supernatural world and more connection with the Natural World decreases Magics influnce.

[Infrastructure]The city of Arvenia in southern Arcea isle is mainly powered from water. The river Tripoli provides all the energy the city could want with dams providing the energy. beautiful marble domed buildings sits on the water with water falls falling into a huge lake. The city is subject to barbarian attacks but on the water it is difficult to invade.
[Agent] Scientist Benevin Julius Aurelius Scientist and adviser to the Senate is one of the few souls to venture to the forbidden city of Arcea. There lies the Great Library and the ruins of the magnificent city the hallows of knowledge and history science and technology is abundant here and he brings many ancient trinkets steam engines, and cotton gins radios etc to study. He has managed to replicate and make these machines function some what but the Senate fears the techs are cursed because of the Dark Age and bans them from public use.
[Forces]The Dragon Army.A small but formidable force protecting the citizens of the Republic from barbarian gangs and up holding the people and Senate this honorable army will once again lead to the ancient glory of Arcea only thru justice and reason.
[Knowledge]Engineering. The Altarians are creators not destroyers they have turned the desolate landscape to evergreen once again farms and canals are being constructed with great skill the buildings and terraces holding life giving gardens plant life and other beautiful scenery.Canals and farms provide much needed food to the growing populace of 18,000
[Knowledge]Steam Power. The Arcean people have never forgotten the wonder of Steam power which powers the entire city. The coldness of the Volcanic Winter can still be felt and steam power provides much heat to offset this mini ice age.Steam Ships although very rare also provide speedy travel across the Tripoli but still Arcea Island is a hot bed for Barbarism and the Republic makes sure to shield it self from this chaotic world.
[Culture]The Altarian Forum Here is the center of the Republic Several important structures are here including the Altarian Senate house made of gleaming marble with pillars and a dome.It is of religious, social, political, and economic importance and where elections are held has well.
[Knowledge]Biology:In Altaria farming now is the most important task that can be practiced.Benevin has studied many of the plant and animal life around Arcea and compared it to the biology books from the Great Library and found that many animal and plant life that existed before the Dark Ages simply don't exist anymore. He also helps the farmers by maximizing the fewer agricultural plants that still exist and finding seeds from the Vaults in the Library to teach them how to grow them.
[Knowledge Legacy]Calculus is the mathematical study of change, in the same way that geometry is the study of shape and algebra is the study of operations and their application to solving equations. This allows the Altarians to make more advanced techs.
Infrastructure:Industrial sector:To supply the Army more efficiently tons of factories are constructed guns, cannons, wands all these help the war effort and it helps the economy has well has many products are made, and mines are constructed has well
Agriculture Sector:Farms and ranches are being made leading to a population boom
Chemistry:Chemistry allows for the creation of better gunpowder and better food/Agricultural production
[Forces]Navy:The Navy is expanded to deal with trading missions and combat pirate raids in the Nova sea and around the Luna sea
[Infrastructure]Aurora City
Infrastructure:Orion City
Infrastructure:Arcea City
Infrastructure:Leon Agricultural Sector
Knowledge:Railroad
Knowledge:Geology
Special Infrastructure: Verdia territory a huge island owned by the Republic huge untapped mineral resources lay here and settlers come by the storm to develop the land the territory is based from the city of Bila

Fussfolt and his crew mourned the death of the PhiloGoffer king. Shortly After the funeral, They left Lotill and returned to Zadox. They were surprised see large forests of chimneys and webs of pipes where there used to be barren lands. A New revolution was taking place in Zadox. Ruebeck calls it the Carbon-Chemical Revolution. Carbon, One of the newest elements identified by harkback chemists was an incredibly useful raw material for making medicine. All sorts of drugs were devised to cure the countless diseases previously thought uncurable. What sparkled the revolution was the discovery of Penicillium, a tiny lifeform, first spotted in the Mirror Pyramid. The substance the Penicillium creates can destroy all sorts of bacterias with ease... Similar substances were then synthesized using carbon, hidrogen, nitrogen, now renamed elements.

The Free Gygaxi Republic
The Ancient decided that it was time for expansion. Their territory already extended beyond Old Gygax, and the population had risen quickly. A new city was established to the west of New Gygax. It was called New Bremor. [+1 Infrastructure: New Bremor] It was established atop the ruins of Bremor, which had been destroyed in a mining accident. Unbeknownst to the Gygaxi, the explosion had caused a chain reaction flooding the area with magical energy. The citizens of New Bremor have a small chance of being born with magical abilities, though these are not usually very powerful. Also, exploration parties were sent out to the west, towards Almain, and the northwest, towards Neo-Goffsill.

[Agents] (3)
The Ancient: The leader of this small group of Gygaxi. He takes his inspiration from the mythical figure The Elder. He is extremely charismatic and holds the group together. (Reign for 10 years)
The Scientist: A madman who is intent on discovering the secrets of the Remnants and advancing knowledge. Also wears lots of funny hats for some reason.
The Revolutionary: A mysterious figure who wears many suits and speaks in riddles half of the time. Nobody's really sure why he's here or what he wants, but he looks pretty sharp.
[Forces] (2)
The Militia: Almost everybody here knows how to use a weapon. They haven't got any formal training, but they can certainly hold their own in a fight.
The Gygaxi Purity Party: A lunatic fringe of xenophobes and racists who wish to prevent all outside influences upon Gygaxi way of life. They are small in number, but highly dangerous.
[Infrastructure] (3)
Old Gygax: The ancient city of Gygax, filled with strange wonders and beautiful buildings. Many of the less practical constructions are nothing but piles of rubble now, but from this rubble and the buildings still standing, the Gygaxi make their home.
New Homes: The Gygaxi were running rather short on living space, so they constructed some more. Plenty of room now.
New Bremor: The second city established in New Gygax, it is built atop the ruins of Bremor. Legend says that magical energies flow through the land around the city, causing some citizens to be born with magical abilities.
[Culture] (3)
The Remnants: What remains of Old Gygax and the mysterious Gygax is where the Gygaxi draw most of their inspiration and cultural identity from. Ancient statues of long-forgotten idols stand ruined by the passage of time and something greater. Something unknown and dangerous. Something unspeakable.
Strange Cult: Some of the less practical among the Gygaxi worship evil and unforgiving gods, claiming that these must have caused the Cataclysm. Most dismiss these claims out of hand, but many believe that these cultists are on to something...
A Quite Good Book: Lots of...y'know...pages. And...ideas. Thoughts, yeah? Alright, I'll be honest, I haven't actually read the thing, but I'm assured it's quite good.
[Knowledge] (6)
*Level 1*
Engineering: The Gygaxi learned much of architecture from studying the work of their ancestors. They pride themselves on their aesthetic abilities and solid workmanship. Knocking down Gygaxi buildings is not easy. Also, they can construct basic clockwork such as a...clock. But not a very good clock.
Chemistry: Making things explode since 5 A.C.
Calculus: Making 11th graders' heads explode since 3 A.C.
Steam Power: You know, crazy machines powered by heated water. Basic stuff here.
Biology: All the nasty biological processes that keep you ticking.
*Level 2*
Medicine: Saving the world from various diseases with the power of SCIENCE!!!

Nova Retimoni

Post-Common Era, 012 (P.C.E 012)

Image

The Oligarchs watched the prisoners will slight fascination as the military officers sat down in front of them. The room was dark, and the two people in chains struggled, shouting in strange tongues. They had been the captains of the ships the Confederate patrols had captured off the coast, the rest of the crew had been released, but did not have permits to leave the city and were effectively trapped. One of the military officers put on a thick leather glove and took a red hot iron rod from a nearby fire pit. The other pulled out an ancient map of the world and placed it in front of the foreign captains whilst the third officer unchained their arms. Both captains rubbed their wrists and stopped shouting for help, looking uneasily at the map. The Confederate officers gestured to the map and handed each of the captains a pen. One of the captains caught on quickly, drawing out the borders of a nation to the south by the mouth of a river. The other shook his head. Whilst the third Confederate officer unchained and led the first captain out, the one holding the red hot iron rod began to stretch out his arm to let the iron touch the second captain in the leg. before he iron touched him, the suddenly afraid captain hastily sketched out the borders of a nation even further south on the continent. He was also unchained and let out. They were free to roam the city, but would be watched. The new map was posted in the capital building, and the Oligarchs were most pleased.
[Infrastructure x2]Nova Retimoni:
Retimoni is an ancient city of the Confederacy, long since destroyed and worn down by endless invasions and battles. The capital of the realm is named after this once great city. It sits atop the mountain famous for the Argon Falls, and is heavily defended by tall stone walls, and the massive mortars that can be found on every city block. The city is not large, but it does not need to be as it is mostly made up of the aristocrats and chiefs of Confederate society. It has a rudimentary plumbing system and is known for it's cultural output.

[Forces] The Red Legion:
A large force that specializes in artillery warfare. It contains large amounts of the most advanced weaponry accessible to the Confederacy, it's gunpowder units are admired for their bravery, blood lust and efficiency, whilst it is lacking in cavalry and melee infantry. It is a 200 year old army, and takes pride in its traditions and history. It is currently stationed at Nova Retimoni. Due to recent developments, the Legion was converted into an almost purely infantry division in P.C.E 12.

[Agent] Logik Bachtrade:
Logik is an amazing and odd scientist, inventer of the "airwheel" and the man who sparked the Confederacies Technological Revolution.

[Culture] The Gods Park: All of the most important ancient memorials and statues of the Gods of the various tribes in the Confederacy have been sitting in this one park in the ruins of Retimoni for hundreds of years. Around the beautiful yet eerie overgrown ruins of the once mighty city lie the idols, all slightly overgrown but still extremely beautiful and unique. Most are bronze, stone or gold, however a few are made of strange materials that are as of yet unknown to the Confederacy. Thousands make insanely long pilgrimages here, and you can always expect a few people quietly praying to their gods.

[Knowledge x4] Extremely Advanced Gunpowder Weaponry (Chemistry): Since the dark days of the apocalypse, the Confederation has stood out due to its weapons. Here you can find such wonders as bolt-loaded rifles, Gatling guns (Hand cranked.) , and the massive and awe inspiring artillery that can be found almost anywhere in the empire. The Confederation has some of the fastest reloading and longest ranged gunpowder weaponry in the world, and they are proud of it.

The Power of Steam: Already being harnessed with the few ironclads prowling the waters and the massive amount of factories springing up like mushrooms in fall all over the empire, steam power is clearly the future.

Engineering: Towers that reach up and touch the sky are scattered throughout the Confederate lands.

Aether Technology: By harnassing the power of Aether, smaller and more controllable engines have been created.
So this is a signature? What do you do with it? Hello? -taps monitor glass- What is this even for?!

Another airship was sent from the Aerodrome to go across the sea to see about the rest of the maps and see what lies in across the rest of the fabled land of Tredera. Even though the Horn was able to make their trip very well. The newest airships had more power then the Horn and they needed it to be able to cross the sea faster or needed for wartime. The Fish was the newest prototype and they were going to what the maps were calling New Zyras and they needed to work with speed if anything. The notes were that the steam engine was larger then the Horn and they said that was a better ride then the Horn. They made it faster then the normal rate and they saw what was something more interesting then anything then they seen, it looks like a floating city. They wandered what it was about and they probably thought it was something from the Dark Times. They encircle around it and see what will happen or if anybody will see them, but if not then they will go down and explore it themselves.

Southeastern Border, 1989 A.O.P.
Olan and Richter were now Lieutenants in the 1st G.E.C. division, and were in the grip of a fierce deja vu. A new column of people were marching down the Goffline's shore. They looked at one another, then to the newcomers, then back at their own men. They sighed, Richter ordered a runner back to Fort Requiem, and the two walked off, at the heads of their troops, to escort these visitors into the Trans-Zadoklobe.

Item gains for today:
Infrastructure: The Trans-Zadoklobe: A century ago, colonization was opened into the area between the Goffline's tributaries. Now, the area has been reopened, a town has sprung up, under the protection of Fort Requiem.

20 miles off New Zyras, The Spirit

It had been a normal day so far on the spirit. People walked the small streets and the ship like feel was minimal in this area. The landing areas for the airships were empty currently as they were off patrolling. As the citizens went about their daily lives a foreign airship was spotted. Quickly the marking were identified to be of a people that were natives of the other continent though the markings upon closer inspection were actually different. However they still hailed the airship and prepared the landing area. Keya was in her early seventies but looked like she was 50 at the time of this encounter. She had been called although unofficially retired from military service to overlook the contact and act partially as a diplomat. She had put on the deep purple hooded robe of ceremonial use and grabbed a shotgun for defense in case crap hit the fan so much it fell over.

The Sulitan looked at the gift and smiled. He listened to the translator speak to him about the history of the Empire. He shouted out an order sharply. Quickly a scholar entered the room with a scroll. The scholar walked up to the group and put it on the table. He bowed to the Sulitan and left the room. The Sulitan spoke at once, picking up the scroll and handing it to the Skymaster. "This is The Hymes of Dar Al-Hikman, the holy scripture and history of our people from before these dark times. This school is the school that wrote the scrolls and is for the most part the same building we are in now. Most of the city is from those times. The Empire was not much before then. It did not fall as badly if these dark times ruined other empires so far away."

They looked at one another, then to the newcomers, then back at their own men. The exploratory party saw these signs of a new civilization and rejoiced. They had traveled for many months, and were beginning to tire. They quickly approached a group of people and greeted them.

The fully black people, the people who seemed to be from the records, were... different. Their airship was amazingly built and seemed to be able to travel quite far. Their weapons seemed modern and just a tad behind Zyrasian design though seemed very well built at the same time. Their clothes were strange though perhaps they were more utility. Keya then became curious and put her shotgun in a lax position and listened to the people. Their voices had a distinct accent but they could speak the Ameralite language with a bit of Zyrasian. Keya knowledgeable about these languages nods and takes her hood off to reveal a large amount of tattoos in a blood red color on her faces in intricate patterns that seem to almost glow. She has bright purple eyes and raven black hair and appears in her 50s although she's actually seventy. "We are the Zyrasians as you ask though of course changed by this new world" she responds in a soft voice right now seeming like she is almost fighting to stay on her feet "though I'm curious, we kinda recognize the markings on your ship but they seem different, tell me what is your people's name?".

The man seemed to have never been in the sun by his paleness and statement. The darkened goggles finally made sense as well as the hood. The tribal tattoos were interesting and seemed to resemble markings of a caste like system the ashpeople use. They only knew the old Theocratium was very advanced for natives and knew of the Ameralites. "Of course" Keya says as she motions for some people to guide them to a building. She goes to take a step then a wave of tiredness assaulted her as she moved her leg almost falling. Luckily one of the men notices it and keeps her from falling and handing her a staff. She knew what was happening, the effects of her power while giving her a more youthful look and longer life were devastating for her energy. Her tattoos then begin to glow a bit as she uses a small and quick energy spell and she quickly drinks a small vial of an energy liquid she had. She then continues to walk with them.

The was surprised when he saw the glowing energy and the spell and saw that she was a mage and he said," you are a mage? I see we are not the only people with a magical touch by unknown means, though that could mean that your tattoos are something else. It seems your power is power is great. Though I hope you are able to carry yourself throughout our walk." It was strange to see a different type of magic out of their own. Only two in his crew have been blessed with the Wisdom of the Ash and they were still researching its origins, but they believe that it has more Shamanistic as those who have the Wisdom are connected to those who have been the most mystic of Shamans in their families that have even reached during the Dark Times.

A New craze sweeps through the harkback. Newspapers. People like knowing about what's going on in the world and therefore the cult decides to create a news agency, The Zadox Sentinel to bring cult-approved information to the people. The Newspaper became very popular due to its rich content, covering local news, politics, industry, culture, science... In every issue there was at least some Zadoxian poetry, Interesting Math puzzles that could be solved for a prize and scores of the latest songs composed were also found.

In the center of the Manofactoria lies its oldest building. A papermill, adjoint with a printing press. Built long before the apocalypse. Untold millions of squaremetrans of paper were made here over the centuries, most of it used in books and newspapers. Recently however, this facility became very unproductive. The last work phase, namely, arranging each and every book and newspaper by hand requires a lot of time and attention. There are not enough workers for this task anymore as labor is being refocused elsewhere. The few who are still on the job are overworked and one day decide to go on strike, demanding less workhours and better working environment. The people of Zadox were furious when they couldn't find fresh issues of the Zadox Sentinel at the newspaper stands next morning. A council investigation was started to find out the cause of the News shortage and arrived at the conclusion that a more efficient way for producing the newspapers is urgently required. Research into better machineries was initiated and engineers soon devised a printing press that was faster, more autonomous and also arranged the finished products in the right order. This steam-powered Machine was commissioned in the Manofactoria and moved to Zadox so that newspapers could arrive at news stands earlier.

It was so efficient that it reduced labor needed to print newspapers by tenfold and soon, similar machines were made for other industries. Clothmaking was revolutionized by Sewing machines and Rifles, Which were popular among farmers who had to keep their cattles safe from evil wolves were now made in assembly lines. In the rifle factories, each worker had to preform just one production phase. They got an unfinished product from the guy to the right, added something to the rifle and then he handed it over to the guy next to him. Moving the gun about however could be time consuming and so a machine was installed to move the rifles between the workstations...

New Knowledge:
Industrial Automation

Agents:
- Mayor Ruebeck - Elected Mayor of Zadox, In charge of the city's robust infrastructure projects. Perhaps Descendant of the once respected Ruebeck family, whom according to some old brick tablets governed Zadox for an entire Millenia.

Forces:
- The Sentines - Guardians of the Harkback cult. They help wherever help is needed. If armed at all, they carry bronze spears, their traditional weapon. When not patrolling the streets in search of fires and wrongdoers, they tend to the sick.
- The Maritime Zadox - Large trade and whaling fleet, Completely unarmed but is large enough to move tens of thousands of tonnes of cargo a year from one port to another.

Infrastructure:
(WONDERS)
- The Mirror Pyramid - besides the dormant mountain survived the apocalypse with little to no harm. An enormous device is housed inside which can act as both a microscope and a telescope, though not at the same time.
- Libraris Apocrypha - The Library of ancient history and science. This wonder makes Ectrüs a Very popular holiday destination mong those in Zadox and Dunnrhof.
(POPULATION CENTERS)
- Zadox - The city of nightmares according to those old and alive enough to tell stories of the past, the past Before the Apocalypse, but even they have trouble recalling the horrific things happened here. Night and day are very much alike in Zadox. During the day, Fog enshrouds the streets blocking out the sunlight while at night, the fog disperses the light of of the candles and oil lamps which makes up for a dim version of daylight. City streets have been widened by the disasters that struck the city and large parks grew on the ruins of the devastated palace that once stood in the middle of Zadox.
- Dunnrhof - Port town West of Zadox. Some of Its buildings are centuries old. Relics of the past litter the streets everywhere. The city is sparsely populated and has little industry. Fishing, Agriculture in the nearby towns however is significant and Dunnrhof acts as a local trade hub.
- Ectrüs - City of the west. Its weather is cold but Sunny and is home to some of the happiest harkback in all of harkback. Its also where the Libraris Apocrypha is.
(ECONOMY)
- The Swirling mines - In the lands north of Zadox, Wast tunnel network spire underground, dug by the miners in search of metals. Mostly copper can be found here, but some other strange, dark metals of little practical use is also present in significant quantities. Harkback laws limit miners to work no more then 3 years in the mines and must then find other employment as Prolonged work underground lead to many diseases, both physical and mental.
- Framed Fields - The land surrounding Zadox was once completely naked. Entire forests were chopped down to make room for farmland. Recently however, weather change has devastated the farmland and so biologists suggested the replanting of trees around potato fields to protect them from high-speed winds. This wasn't enough. Heavy rains and cold weather were still devastating crops so Greenhouses and canals were built to keep plants warm and protected. The upside of greenhouses was that food could be grown in them even in the winter... but they were expensive to build and maintain. The 2 balanced out relatively well.
- Manufactoria - 20 Harkback miles from Zadox, close by the Swirling mines. Thousands of workers toil tirelessly in the factory halls to build new stuff. Pianos, Tools, Books, Furniture, Glass, Copper pipes and other construction materials are also made along with the steam engines, each in a separate production unit. Logistics is Organized by the cult.

Culture:
- Sentientalism - According to the old brick tablets, Sentient creatures in the world must never be harmed or extorted in any way by a fellow sentient being. Peace, Cooperation and equality therefore is mandatory. The Cult holds these Ideas sacred and educates every harkback children to respect them.
- Industrialism - The harkback dream of a future of comfort and prosperity and they believe Industry is their ticket there.

Knowledge:

-LEVEL 1-
- Biology - Ever since the construction of the Mirror Pyramid, Harkback understanding of life, Especially on small scale has grown greatly. Bacterias, living Tissue and reproduction is understood well... Everyone in Zadox loves biology. Books about human anatomy were the first to be published after the apocalypse. Some believe that soon the harkback will be able to perhaps transplant organs or replace them with machines to extend human lifespan... some already make attempts to construct such machines.
- Chemistry - The few books that survived the apocalypse contained useful information on the behavior of matter and also some strange theories about tiny particles, namely, Molecules and elements. According to these centuries old books, the elements can form all kinds of molecules when placed in the right environment, though they may also appear in their pure form. The Watermaker, The Graphite and the Firestopper were the firest elements known to the harkback, though later it turned out that the Watermaker, later renamed Hidrogen is the only pure element of the 3. The rest were molecules.
- Steam Power - The recently discovered steam power has already begun to revolutionize harkback society. Thirst for more raw materials increase quantity of labor sent into the depths to recover coal and metals while increasing amounts of engineers and scientists are trained to understand the way these machines work and improve their designs...
- Calculus -
- Engineering - The harkback are still puzzled as to how they managed to have a working industry before understanding these things.

-LEVEL 2-
- Medicine - The discovery of a small lifeform in the Mirror Pyramid led to the discovery of a bacteria-annihilator substance. Now the substance is mass produced in the Manufactoria and distributed across the Harkback Realm.
- Industrial Automation - With every passing year, More and more machines serve the harkback people. Industrial automation constantly frees works from tedious work, increases productivity and wealth but energy use and pollution grows proportionally...

It has been two years since they have been continuously building and improving their airships with the power of industry that allowed them to make the strength that they have now. However, with the use of geology had allowed them to start thinking of new ways to think about trying to make their armor stronger. While steel was always commonplace in their civilization, they needed new techniques so that they can try to get it lighter and better then the ones they currently have. They went back in the study of chemistry and basic metallurgy of the Old Theocratium to search for answers, but of course when it came to their text, it was the Trederans of old that came with the true answers. The metallurgy that the Stao'nonxizil had to start making their own versions for they wanted their airships to be defended from attacks against anti-air from Sky pirates. The chemistry and blast burning methods of smelting had been discovered at this time and had started to paved the way in much stronger steel that was quickly needed. It also was heaver but enough was needed when it comes to trying to outfit the new airships for making their underbellies and weak spots stronger with the new and improve steel.

This also called for new ways of penetrating their own steel. While the normal cannons and explosives did not do the damage that they needed to penetrate their own armor so they decided to modified it by using steam. The cannon itself was made larger then any cannon they ever built. It was also made of copper to resisted the heat that it will bring out and they also let out pipes that shoot out steam in order to reload the cannon. The shell itself was made of nickel and chromium that made it a much denser shell then any they ever smelted and they also made with a tip that was made for penetrating their own quality of armor and in order to reduce the impact in the future development, they made soft-cap metal which made the impact be able to be spread apart and make it more stronger to go straight through the armor. The canon itself was made by a large use of pistons and gears that they had use a large amount of heat, steam, and pressure to hit the hammer inside and be able to withstand the backlash from it. For special case, they place two sets of bracers that were able to hold the cannons massive backlash and this was good for the hammer was large that it had to become an very advance steam engine that was turned to into the hammers swing on the shell which became the pull of a lever.

With the cannon being in used, they shot it at a airship that they used as a decoy and had their steel on and they were able to shoot it down as the shell went through the entire airship with the shell still going until it fell down in the ocean in a big splash, this became known as an Aug'tav, which is known by the Warshamans as their" Ancestral Fury" but it became more known around them as the " Finger of Wild Thunder" which became the most accurate translation of the Aug'tav. The Aug'tav had became a special type of canon that its shell was meant to pierce armor and not be explosive like their normal shells. They do not know how useful their canons would be but the airship defense would come in handy against the pirates but what about other things, they will not know yet, but will sooner or later.

[Infrastructure] Zon'friex: Once a collection of underground vaults that had held all of the collective knowledge that Xel'nox had either stolen or discovered on their own, but they had mostly stolen it, and had found themselves once they had came out of their vaults and had became a bustling city with a labyrinth made of roads and corridors that connect to districts that lend a hand to one another and find the city that they have become and build for the betterment of themselves. Zon'friex is called the Glowing City or the City of Ash as they had settled under the ash that had toppled them and the most powerful nations. It is also called the Glowing City because it has a large network of crystals that glow a rainbow of colors and also the large industrialization that had never been seen since the year of Veer'gornash, which was the last era before the Dark Times. The city's workings are of common place and it now houses 42,000 embers that still flicker among the darkness. The City is nearly hidden from the naked eye but the only thing that can be sought is the various holes that lift up smoke and vapor that are symbols of advancement and a new age for them.

[Infrastructure] The Ar'forgual Aerodrome: The first city that is made outside of the city of Zon'frex. It is a nexus for the Stao'nonxizil's own airships that are used to explore the Old Theocratium and to make homesteads as they rely on it to try and quickly explore the Old Theocratium and Xel'nox to see what survives and what hasn't. Right now, 8,000 have called this Aerodrome home and made it partially a city in both underground and topside. Ar'forgual is mostly topside and some underground as they have a place for the Skyborn, people who have made a living and have called their airships their houses instead of their underground counterparts, and also for the rest of their underground civilization as their an assortment of taverns, business, and shipyards for airships but they also have more crime that also make more Warshamans look for more security but are usually turn a blind eye because the Skyborn can handle the their own trouble but general security is still with the Warshamans but they are usually giving trust to the Skyborn to handle their business and the at some times, the general people.

[Infrastructure] Gyr'flow: Known as the deepest fissure in the lands that the Stao'nonxizil have occupied and the riches of its mineral wealth. This is also the town that has rested on the very walls and the homesteads that have settled on the valley itself to give itself food and wealth beyond what can a common lower caste can dream as they have made their way in help satisfied the hunger for production and industry for now and it seems that this also production industry as well as the town is among the third largest city in their lands that have the most importance when it comes to production and general raw materials of the economy and the Stao'nonxizil.

[Agent] Xi'shik: Inventor, Shaman, and current leader of the Sax'fro. The Sax'fro at one time were one of the most intensive spy agencies in the world before the Dark Times, they were formed for the use of exploration and gathering of knowledge when the Theocratium of Xel'nox made their one and only colony, Xergiok, on Tredera and the Sax'fro caste was prevalent in obtaining most of the technology and knowledge of Tredera that rivaled other powers of spies in the world. When the Dark Times came, they retreated with the rest and had gained power as the leaders of the remnants and became intertwined with the new beliefs and culture of the Stao'nonxizil. Xi'shik is skilled in deciphering the ancient text that the Sax'fro used that became the new language of their people and ushered in the inventions that they had discovered long ago at the end of Veer'gornash. The Sax'fro caste still hold an a power over their people as spies, assassins, and now leaders of their civilization, but they are still but a shadow of the legend they used to be, but the new age can bring better legends and a new power for them.

[Forces] Zel'nov Warshamans: A mixture of the two sects of the Warshaman caste that once fought for the Amarites in the past. In the past, the most elite of their cast became the Quo'nox, the ones trained in fighting by the Amarites and led their brothers and sisters to war in what was called Wild Thunder's March, which was led by the Quo'nox Warshaman Myxsti'thyx, which is known to the Old Languages as Wild Thunder and he was a master tactician and the one who wrote the Huen, or the Warshaman's own version of unconventional warfare that allowed them to be famous auxiliaries that won them several victories, both offensive and defensive. When all Warshamans were called underground, then they had joined each other as a hybrid lead as they were the first ones to try and scavenge, reclaim, and explore Xel'nox and they had became more in line to stealth and skirmishing then their old styles of combat. They also are trained in guns and weapons of different types, but they prefer weapons for accuracy and stealth that allows them to take out their forces with precision then brute force like of Old Times.

[Forces] Hemo'shiv/Skeleton Crews: Known as the Warriors of the Skyborn and known as the Warshamans of the skies. These forces have become the true arm of Xel'nox as they have became the stable of the use of a growing rise of a aerial navy and the commonplace of airshsips and airship homes. They have became a large force quickly which had became for both use in merchant use, exploration, and general bounty hunting and mercenary work. The Skeleton Crews fight fierce and underhand and do not care about honor unlike their troop counterparts, even though they fight with stealth and skirmishing but at least they fight with some honor in their way. Their airships come in all shapes in sizes and continually grows as their Aerodrome gets bigger and the knowledge is becoming more commonplace. The different types of airships that used things like gatling guns and cannons or even drop explosives have been of use when combating heavily defended pirate outpost out in the ruins of the Old Theocratium or other enemies they may come after them.

[Culture] The Storm Rides Again/The Statues of Az'martinx: The natives of Xel'nox resistant outside influence even when they were offered to learn. Their culture is known to be the most alien of them all and they love it and their beliefs are no different. Their storm gods of their Parthenon were at once 3200 alone and statues littered their entire civilization. Now their belief is more reformed and still eldritch as their gods and even revered ancestors are transformed into what one will call to be horrible and repulsive, but it is unique and show the part of their belief that like a storm, they will always rise and ride again.

[Knowledge] Steam Power: In Veer'gornash, steam power and the Industrial Revolution was starting for them but then the Dark Times came. Now it was a revival to what they never had completely grasp until the end of the world. The power of the Steam had allowed for them to fully see the sight of industrialization and the use of steam that allowed them to do lots of things, one of the many things was to use if for mining, building, and refining as well as learning about the use of the first taste of machinery that started to bring in factories to their sections of the city and the smoke and vapor started to rise out of the very ground itself.

[Knowledge] Chemistry: The thing that all natives of Xel'nox do know, from the fertilizer to gunpowder and explosives. They had decipher this the most out of all the text they were able to search for in the vaults they have been able to secure themselves in. It, with Biology, had became the foundations of bringing back horticulture and balance out the industrialization and the naturalism, though it only extends to growing mushrooms much better and larger though it has even better workings. They also allowed them to do things like rediscover gunpowder and the use of acids and explosives for both domestic and militaristic means. This also helps them in trying to survey the ground topsoil that they use the chemistry when it came to send out expeditions and trying to figure out if the ash is still in the land.
Starting location (You can specify specific locations on the map or non specific ones, such as Tropical coastline, Desert, Rocky mountains):
Underground in the Satizmi Waste, Northern Xel'nox, though the only thing you will see about the civilization is the smoke fumes that come out in a matter of holes.

[Magic] Wisdom of the Ash: The first instances in history for them is that magic has been developed by unknown means. The people that have been gifted with the magic have been able to harness the ash that is around Xel'nox and has called it the Wisdom of the Ash.
( update) The magic called the Wisdom of the Ash has started to show connections with the land and the people developing the magic and had first known that they can draw the ash in spirit from the very land itself and have been showing to ignite the ash to be use in a fireball that explodes. This is the first time that offensive or combat-related use of the Wisdom of the Ash has been used and tested in their history.

[ Knowledge] Biology: Biology has been rediscovered as a means of increase agriculture and to help with the explorations topside.

[Knowledge] Engineering: Large scale construction has been reintroduced and been used to its fully effects so that they can have more room to grow underground and have better planning for their buildings and such.

[Knowledge] Calculus: The first use and understanding of advance mathematics ever since Veer'gornash when they were just learning the concept and trying to implement it before the apocalypse but now the rediscover of it has brought them back into the idea of advancing their math skills for other projects and theories that they have in mind for the future of their civilization.

[Knowledge] Astronomy: Found by an now extinct Warhsaman cult, the uses of Astronomy and the Chronoshamans have been pivotal for the history of the Old Theocratium and now is the only thing that can help them learn about the outside and try to discover the lost history of the Dark Times.

Beyond Lvl 1 Technologies

[Knowledge] Physics: The studies of Lro'max and the uncovering of yet another thing that was going to be of use throughout the Old Theorcratium. The study of Physics could have ushered in new ways for the Theocratium to use it's power to harness the true power of the Storm Gods and to be able to fight more efficiently, and possibly even fly! The fabled studies of Lro'max have became the Stano'zanilxi's top priority and it will take them more then a few years but they shall complete it with the upmost importance.
The Warshamans had started to improve their weaponry that had started to make them use upgraded bullets and gunsmithing styles that had jumped them up a good start from their original settings. Airships have been developed and are being used in early stages of explorations have also given the insights that they may be able to reclaim the Old Theocratium. This also yield the foundations of beginning of other technologies that are locked away in the vaults but time is of the essence if they are to truly prosper in their new, harsher landscape.

[Knowledge] Geology: One of the most important text that have been discovered in order to find more resources that can help them learn and improve their knowledge to the fullest when trying to learn the very earth they walk and live on. This help with learning what to mine and what not to and what can be used for the use of building things like airships.

[Knowledge] Metallurgy: The Stao'nonxizil had founded to make more stronger steel by using more advance chemistry in order to make the use of better armor for their airships and started to make the first plated airships out of their civilization, or remnants that is. Once other thing that they also have made was the armor-piercing canons to be of use to take down their own armor and this made specialized canons to handle their own powerful shells to try and bring the airships down if needed.

Keya was a bit surprised at them having mages too. Either the ancients had great coverage of the world or something else. The man also seemed suprised and a bit curious though it seemed like he noticed her energy shortage. While she would have to rest soon she could go with them for a little while. "I'll be fine for a little while but then I need to rest as this power came around 50 years ago and it takes a toll on the body" she responded using her cane to support her weight "we believe it comes from the ancients, but not ours, ones from way before our tine whose ruins have been buried for perhaps many thousands of years". She then takes a breath as her body needed more air than usual and continued "we discovered one such ruin when I was exploring our old capital's ruins where I came across a very unusual thing that granted all of Zyrasian blood power from our tattoos, though power varies with person." These people were actually fairly interesting and she wondered about their culture. Just as the building came up she had another fatigue attack and just managed to catch herself. "I'm sorry I'm not doing as well these days I'll have to beg my leave" she says and apologises "my daughter Yu will answer any questions you may have". As Keya says that a girl of around 19 with Raven black hair, a normal color of skin, a purple black mix colored eyes, of around 5'11 feet in a dark purple robe, and blue face tattoos walks out and says "hello again sorry for my mother's need to leave." She then hand motions to go inside the building.

Present day

Around 2 years after that Keya had departed this world earlier than people expected as her fatigue attacks got stronger and stronger. But then in a strange event all of Keya's power was given to Yu, her daughter. With this blood magic had also been discovered in an accident. When Yu had had been poked with a needle and cast a spell to stop the bleeding the blood on the needle vanished and the wound closed. She quickly sent her discovery to the Mage center and soon it is revealed that blood could be used for magic power. Though riskier it was more powerful and it could be used in almost infinite ways. Soon these discoveries lead to the use of animal blood for weaker spells and human blood for more powerful spells.

Infrastructure: Siochanna: An ancient city once owned by the Zyrasians and now back in their hands. While not totally destroyed it will take some time to fix.
Infrastructure: Asiris River Region: The Asiris river once housed many factories, powered them, and supported people. Now it doesn't but it can in the future.
Culture: Viva la Revolution: The Zyrasians are an independent, free, people who don't tolerate conquerers, slavers, racists, and bigots. These defiant people don't take crap from nobody anytime at all.
Infrastructure: New Zyras: The great reclaimed city of New Zyras. Home to thousands of years of history and many revolutions. While damaged it's being repaired and finally the Zyrasians will take to the land.
Infrastructure: Spirit: The floating city that kept these people alive. Armed by cannons and fireworks using heavy bombardment on enemies to keep them away and using steam power it slowly moves along. Advanced fishing machines and whaling guns also are on the city for food and fuel harvesting. It houses 20,000 people and has small farms to keep vitamin C and others up and some livestock but not much.
Agent: Yu: The daughter of Keya she is a bit different. She is a royal scout (spy assassin) and has the power to turn invisible but is also a great diplomat due to her attractive appearence and her cheerfulness. She absolutely loves exploring ruins and different from her mother she has rifle with an edited telescope on it to make it easier for her to scout and eliminate targets.
Forces: The Reclaimers of New Zyras: 2 sects, The Vanguard, and The Navy. While the Zyrasians absolutely hate fighting they will do it if necessary. The 1st go out into the deadlands, ruined farms, and ruined factories to clear them out but usually patrol Spirit. The last explores the seas and makes sure no people come near Spirit. Now there is a small airforce of airships and mages but that's for dangerous areas.
Magic: Glyph magic: This magic while mysterious holds great power in major moments but can be controlled in minir ways like lighting a flame in your hand or other small ways. All Zyrasians have at least a little bit of it because of operation "Zyrasian"...
Knowledge:Physics: You see that apple? Gravity! Now I can also explain why the apple does what it does when I throw things. Also school children's heads now figuratively explode!
Knowledge: Industrial automation: Production moves faster now with men working only on one part then the other men taking it and doing another part.
Magic: Blood Magic: As it says, this is a dangerous magic but has lots of power in it.

One foggy morning, The HSS Zobros of the Maritime Zadox, Named after an ancient stargazer left Zadox to chart new lands. They sailed to the west, And then to the south and found a new continent. All was well until a great storm caught the ship and the waves crashed the ship into a huge rock on the shoreline. The sailors were stuck in this foreign land with little supplies. They started exploring inland to find a suitable location to set up an encampment.

The City of Leto:

In the school of Dar Al-Hikman more progress was being made on the development of steam power. This power, it seemed, had the capacity to change the way people moved throughout the empire. Steam ships replaced those of sails on the high seas for trade and rich merchants employed the use of steam crafts in rivers. Airships were still for the most part impracticable for commence and were only used for exploration. The military would begin to test out airships armed with cannons to see how they behaved under the unequal forces acting upon them. It soon became clear they had some potential, but it would take a break through in metal working to make the ships really effective.

The new attraction in the city was the landship. Running on a small track in the center market the steam powered craft took those willing to pay for a ride on the beast in a short circuit around the plaza. It soon became a popular ride, attracting hundreds of onlookers and riders. For the amount a camel could carry this craft surpassed other means of transportation. They were however expensive. Most of the parts on the craft were made by craftsmen. Normally nomads took on the responsibility of transporting goods across the desert. Now merchants were testing old ways. The Sulitan was amazed by these crafts. However he knew they would bring turmoil to the Empire by breaking up old customs. He would have to satisfy the old tribes if he wanted to keep his power. His own tribe was alienated by his settler ways. Prince Hauabar Al-Ada was one with the tribe, hunting and moving with them. It was obvious he was gaining support for a political maneuver against his nation. Something had to be done.

A Caravan from the North

An envoy from the Iron Depostism was welcomed into the Emperial court. They were greeted by the Sulitan himself, who had them enter through the main palace entrance. In the main hall the Sulitan sat waiting. The room was wide, with arches and pillars expanding the hall. The floor was tiled with polished marble and polished pink quartz. Narrow windows let in beams of light that could be seen in the air. In the alcoves lining the hall men and woman sat and stood, listening to court proceedings and gossiping. At the end of the hall the Sulitan sat in his white robes and gold leaf crown. His throne was made of sandstone. Placed upon meany short steps it was the highest place in the room. Guards stood at attention at each pillar, hand on their swords and others on rifles. The Emperor watched the envoy enter the hall.

In the North

A group of traders on camel and horse back slowly traveled north. They had left the stepps and were now in more lush lands. The traders and explorers were a far way from home. For years this route was the basis for trade between the north and south. The raw goods of the south were traded with the finished ones of the north. Thought this trade was difficult due to the lack of heavy equipment it prospered. Over sea bigger quantities of goods were transported between the north and south. However this caravan was different. Its goal was to open more relations with the buyers and sellers of the north.
(OOC: Anyone can reply to this if they are in the north.)

[Agents] Prince Hauabar Al-Ada, son of Harq this man is following in the footsteps of his great grand father, focusing more on the military.

[Agents] Sulitan Harq Al-Ada: Taught at the school of Dar Al-Hikman and versed in the ways of culture, Prince Harq is interested in engineering. His first city to rule will be his toy for politics and construction. He is focused on culture and a sound political base.

[Forces] The King maintains a large force of nomadic warriors called The Firmi. These troops were raised in the desert and are most skilled at mounted combat. Levies from the city were later on integrated into the force in order to maintain order in cities in the small country. These levies are armed mostly with spears and swords, but more elite units have muskets.

[Forces] Another left over from the collapse of the old empire is the idea of a navy. Upon reuniting the Empire the Raiders were created to protect off shore fishing and shipping. Ships that were left over from the old empire often resorted to raiding as a source of resources. The idea of the navy remains and is built upon piracy.

[Infrastructure] The City of Leto still stands. Despite it being nearly abandoned after the old empire collapsed the large, deep ports inside of the city were returned to and inhabited again. The city has very little notable about it and stands at the mouth of the Lea river, the lifeblood of the Settled and Nomadic people.

[Infrastructure] The city of Akksum has been taken into the realm. The city is home to a new palace, temple and ports. Under the rule of Harq Al-Ada the city's population grew. Walls would be constructed around the city, a market place built and trade between the desert would grow. The city has a library, sprawling markets, and a palace of its own.

[Infrastructure] The city of Bagghar is little more than a port city and trading outpost. From the north it if the first city in which trade is brought into the Empire. Frequented by merchants it is a bustling market. From this city nomads take goods south to Akksum or Leto.

[Infrastructure] The Township of Southern Ameralite: These four small towns are built upon the ruins of former Ameralite cities. These towns are focused around mining and lumber trade which is then transported to the southern cities.

[Culture] The Hymes of Dar Al-Hikman, a renound art school before the collapse of the old empire have now been turned into a holy book. The school was re founded after the return of inhabitants to the city of Leto. The book comprises of hymns from the settled and nomadic people and preach respect for the desert and water. Often times the desert and ocean are referred to as being liquids, as they both seem to flow and have waves. The classic book provides the moral and civil codes of the people in the Empire.
-Level One-
[Knowledge] Navigation: In the dark times the people living on the coast depended on the livelihood that for generations saved their lives: fishing. This simple act required the ability to construct well made ships and use the wind. The tides and waters of the area near the Empire is well known. Sailors are taken in high regard as they helped provide food to the inland when civilization collapsed. As over fishing became an issue the sailors headed deeper into the ocean to catch more fish. In the darkest of times the fishing trade all bust collapsed. The fish population returned and the knowledge of the ocean was kept alive. Navigation also plays a roll in traveling through the sand seas of the desert.

[Knowledge] Engineering, Chemistry, Steam Power, Calculus
