History: Founded after the successful Eureka Rebellion, the Federal Republic of Australia was like no other, and was once a new modern democracy. Home to some 35 million people from all corners of the globe, the populace have a diversity of cultures and languages. New Zealand and Papua New Guinea were appeasement gifts from the British so that the Eureka rebellion would not occupy their troops in Australia when they had to protect India. Australia did not take part in WWI, but joined in WWII to protect Australia's Oceanic possessions. Australia was pro-US during the Cold War, but did not take part in the Korean or Vietnam Wars. In 2020, sweeping reforms altered the course of Australian politics; a return to a commonwealth style of government without a monarch for head of state was demanded. These demands culminated in the election of Prime Minister Thomas Archer.
