There's enough equally dodgy advertisement on the site I'm watching it on, so it's safe to say they're displaying it illegally so....

It's illegal to download the files. If however you just watch the programme on a host site it would be the hosting site and person that uploaded the programme that would be pursued not the person who watched the programme I believe.

Though saying that the police don't really seem to do anything about people downloading stuff it seems.

Three star 2007 bootlegs don't usually concern them; even pirated media sites manage to stay up without putting their servers in Swaziland. It's generally when it becomes a huge amount being pirated — Limewire, for example — that authorities will take action. Even then, illegally downloading countless terabytes won't usually put the police at your door (in America) so much as they'll contact your ISP to stop providing service.
Understandably, if you then go on to distribute your terabytes of downloads for massive monetary gain on servers outside of Swaziland, charges are more likely.

Never got the chance to join the NSG Senate, in fact I Waited a whole week until my nation was a month old to join.

And then I realised that I couldn't signup, it was too late.

Please tell me this is going up this year, or very early next year.

In theory, both cases would be illegal, but nobody actually goes after the guy that just watches in court because a) it's a waste of time and b) it's a waste of money.

Are police supposed to do anything? I've always thought that copyright infringement was a civil wrong, not a crime.

I don't know about Canada but it depends on the nature of the infringement in the UK, some actions are Criminal and some purely Civil.

November might be pushing it - We'd need to start hitting home with mass TGs and other ads now if we want any kind of activity ready for then.

Does anyone who's been on this site for a bit longer than me (and is more observant) know what kind of time activity tends to peak at? If we could time it right, we could really hit the ground running. I'm guessing Christmas is gonna see some kinda increase with us students getting time off, but similarly NSers who are actually employed or whatever won't have any extra time - And family events/other generally Christmas things might lead to a decrease in activity from our more mature demographics.

Unless people want to risk waiting until after January, I'd say about November 27th-December 2nd is the best time to start. Right after Thanksgiving, where people are still finishing up their break but had the turkey.

I'll most likely be heading up to Vancouver during Christmas to see my extended family. I am sure I'll find internet connection, but I can't promise activity all the time. Regardless, my activity should be fairly consistent up until then. I recall November being fairly quick and active month, with activity downsizing after January.

With all these people checking in to see if the senate's still active now a days, I'd think that our activity would only pick up until then.

I've still been keeping up on this reboot idea. I think November-December is a good time it would involve getting some concrete ideas down fairly soon.

WTF?

I've said plenty of times I want to see the senate rebooted, I just wanted to make sure there was a long break before it happened so we didn't have another Baltonia. The cat meme was a joke.
