[DRAFT] Liberate Haven

Postby Yaak » Fri Dec 17, 2021 11:06 am

Before you read this, I would like to thank Sedge for the idea.

The World Assembly,

Noting that Haven's members have lots of freedom,

Shocked that, despite their citizen's freedom, they are pleased with their government,

Realizing that Haven is password-protected,

Wanting to lift Haven's password protection so nations with little freedom can enjoy the region,

Hereby Liberates Haven.

I agree, this does not explain why it should be liberated and it's a badge hunt. "I would like to thank Sedge for the idea" <I don't believe he did that.
So you want to password lift it for people to enjoy their freedom? They already have their freedom, and how do you know they have "Little Freedom"?

When you write a resolution that passes, you get a badge on your nation, so calling a proposal a "badge hunt" is often done against proposals considered to be poorly written.

Anyway, I unfortunately oppose this on principle, as that region has a password for a reason, and removing it would likely result in the region getting raided -- Mallorea and Riva, a well-known raider, even tried it once for the purposes of leading a raid on it.

This argument unfortunately doesn't hold up. By extension, we should liberate all passworded regions, and the password function as a concept is needlessly discriminatory.

Realizing that Haven is password-protected, Not an argument for an SC Liberation.

Wanting to lift Haven's password protection so nations with little freedom can enjoy the region, As above.

That's why it's a liberation.

Liberation tends to be used on password-protected regions and to lift other Delegate-imposed barriers, for regions that have been raided. This proposal does not cross that line by any metric.

That's why it's a liberation.

Most liberations happen because the region in question has been raided and passworded, and cannot be freed unless that password is stricken down. This region has not been raided, in fact, it's very peaceful.

It's nothing more than a badge hunt for you. This clause

Wanting to lift Haven's password protection so nations with little freedom can enjoy the region,

is an absolutely terrible reasoning for wanting to push a liberation through.
