Uni, it's a single clause that has truth to it. You claim that this gimmick united this community together then yes their actions will be included. You claim this is a shining beacon of NSers coming together with puppies and rainbows. Well then you also have to acknowledge that this coming together also meant attacking and shunning other groups who held out. One Member One Vote? If every single member was as important as you say they were then yes that gets included.

I think this resolution could be better written and thought out, but I do think it's well past time for this awful resolution to be repealed, so I am FOR it.

We would like to register our vote against this repeal and urge everybody in favour to reconsider. For those who were not present at the time it was a really marvellous moment when regional differences were (mostly) put aside and nations came together on a breathtaking scale. In an assembly that rubber-stamps commendations for every regional leader of local significance, commending the nationstates community was a commendation for all the thousands of us who took part and not just for any individual. It was a celebration of Nationstates as a whole and a celebration of a historic occasion.

As Max said,

Was I perhaps... moved? These disparate nations that had come together in shared puropose, discarding personal glory in order to shift the world together: had that impressed me? Did I find them... admirable?

Clarity filled me. Yes, many of those nations that donated to the cause had done so to oppose me, while many of those who held back were my greatest supporters. But this wasn't about me. Not any more. This was about NationStates.

So I have chosen to trade my own 25,000,000 shares to The NationStates Community. It is a privilege and an honor to be a part of this place. Thank you.

P.S. Most fun April Fools Day ever.

This however is about an April Fools day event. I'm glad Max had fun as many people did but Commendations are for changing the world for the better. This got passed in the hype of a celebration. But we wouldn't commend someone for Zombies would we? Or how about we commend TEP for the Bytecoin? No? How about Bach? Look at all the cooperation that was behind Bach becoming so great on that day? It wouldn't be a commendation for him...it'd be a commendation for them! Yes yes! Oh goody let's do that.
