The government of Saint-Sebastian endorses the MCFP. We do this knowing full well that is unlikely that the Party will form government and even if it did, or became member of a colaition, the party would almost immediately splinter between those who support the literal party-platform and those who treated their candidacy as a self-aware farce. Given the socially rightward slant of the Zanannian political spectrum voting for a radical party with a pro-prostitution agenda would serve to creative a civil discourse about other tabboo subjects including, no doubt, homosexuality. It might also serve to destablise the political elite and dislodge the political spectrum from the right. A radical/joke party that emerges outside the system and with a limited platform would feel compelled to continue its original intention; to voice discontent with the status que and thus serve the primary interests of Saint-Sebastian, the promotion of gay rights.
Their is however also the risk that upsetting the political status que may jepardise the ability of the government of the day to focus on developing good relations with Saint-Sebastian. It is hoped that a left-ward trend in Zanannian politics will open up the oppurtunity to pursue economic relations with the country and ours and to secure good will and the peace.
