As a "Rich" country we really don't care about money and the military, The Military gets the stuff it needs as loyal soldiers are given there armor and weapons made by loyal metal workers who do what they must to keep our nation safe. This might be why our Armor is the highest quality of Iron and our Trident is is of the highest steel.

Heavy and Light Infantry armour

Ramset Infantry armour is designed largely around protection and comfort for the wearer, featuring overlapped layers of ceramic and metallic plates designed to absorb and disperse impact and kinetic energy, as well as provide a certain resistance to slashing attacks. It is split into three primary divisions; Heavy, Light, and Mobility.

Heavy Armour is identified most readily by the additional applique chestplate, shoulder guards, and prominent cowl and floating plates around each leg. It is designed to provide an anonymous fronting, and provide the greatest possible infantry protection, especially when coupled with the ballistic shields endemic to the RIDF. In order to limit costs, the armour itself is coloured a drab tone, with camouflage sleeves to be added over top of the armour to extend the coverage of the HDCP pattern.

Light Armour is the baseline model, a class-3 vest with a single ambidextrous pauldron, worn on the off-handed side. It provides the basic level of protection required for modern combat, with as close to a perfect mix of mobility and protection, making it well-suited to light infantry support units such as Trenchrunners and Sniper teams. The class-3 vest also forms the core of the Ramset Heavy Armour underneath the additional platework. This armour type is also used by RAID, though with a high degree of customisation.

Mobility Armour is a modular vest with many similarities to light armour, worn by vehicle crews and Aerocom personnel that are not normally part of an airbase or airship security detachment. It is a splint-style armour sheet inside a supportive kevlar sleeve intended to slow and disperse small arms fire or spalled material, in case of the failure of the anti-spalling layer in Ramset vehicles, and protect the wearer from small-area impacts should they be thrown about. It is often worn without the armoured pauldron.

The infantry harness is a light armour made out of leather and over locking ceramic plates which while being able to take hits from a lighter smgs or a pistol so are their true purpose to withstand stabs and slashes in melee which in addition do serves as protection also serves as a excellent encouragement for the lazy knaves to get moving instead of lazying about in fire fights which is what jägare is supposed to be doing.

of course heavier armour do exists as the cuirasses worn by the high guard to the medium armour worn by starmstyrkor and finally the all encompassing heavy armour worn by the Imerian cuirassiers.

Armor is for cowards. True men rely on their big, big, hats to deflect the enemy's killing intent.

Surplus PASGT and surviving Interceptor vests make up the majority of the GAN's body armour, but as the majority of the GAN's armour supplies were rapidly depleted during the initial anarchy of the post-War period (without the facilities to manufacture new composites, broken plates remain broken) and most combat takes place in heavy swamp land no armour is typically issued.

The exception to this rule is when heavy fighting is expected, rather than small faction pacification. In that case, to supplement the dwindling PASGT and Interceptor armour, heavy cotton and silk vests are issued where possible. Though they are near worthless against high powered rounds, the increased survivability against shrapnel and most handgun rounds is valuable even in a heavy combat zone.

Exosuit, in wide use among civilians due to it's effectiveness in vacuum, zero-g enviroments, salvage operations and counter-boarding.
Picture

SECARM mk5, used by the CU's SECOPS troops, is liked for it's cost to durability ratio it has seen wide use in out system mining operations.
Picture

CCBCA, nearing it's 200th anniversary of use with the Commonwealth Commando Brigade the CCBCA is a simple device, armour bolted onto an exoskeleton. Compared to other armours in the Rubble though it enjoys a strength amplification ratio only beaten by the experimental units being worked on by the Navy.
Picture

Franty-6, in service with the Royal Guard it is easily customised to provide for a variety of needs such as VIP protection and riot control (the picture below is of a riot unit)
Picture

The MAKO is the standard armour of the Rubble Marines, strong, durable, mounting an energy shield and easily customised to mount extra components as per the mission it has few weaknesses apart from a huge cost per unit.
