We tend not to leave dead soliders behind. But, if we did, you shouldn't get more than rations and mutitions - largely because taking anything that's not required in battle (like money or iPods) is illegal.
Please note that Mid Lothian is based on fantasy. Any references to anything/one/where that exists is completely coincidential.
Frequently used abbreviations: HoS = Head of State; HoG = Head of Government; ML = Mid Lothian; KSS - Kate Stephens-Smith.
Fancy an embassy in ML? Click me for details. (PS - I'll return the favour.)
I am usually rewriting stuff about Mid Lothian - just because it's true today isn't necessarily true tomorrow.

What about tanks? Modern tank crews in Afghanistan like to play music before or while they go into battle. (It's because they have CD players built into the tanks, might as well use them) Do your guys bring CD's?

Whilst we haven't been in a war since the invention of the CD, they can be taken to their basecamp, but not to the battlefield.

It is strictly illegal to carry anything in the Demphorian Army. However, this order is ignored widely and they usually carry a photo or a CD of their favorite song, once and a while, their own loot is found with them on the battlefield.

Stediculan soldiers 'field-stripping' the enemy dead is incredibly common. Usually among rear-echelon treasure hunters who pick through enemy dead on the front-line, while the combat infantry fight. Stediculan soldiers themselves carry on their person standard issue kit, as well as personal effects. Standard issue kit includes, a rifle, an ammunition bandoleer, two canteens (one filled with water, the other with the soldier's alcohol of choosing), a combat knife, and several hand grenades. Personal effects include family photographs, family heirlooms, war souvenirs and trinkets, et cetera.

Looting is not tolerated in our Military and offenders can be court marshalled for it. Also our soldiers are trained to remove dead comrades' identification tags, any other signs of identity and search for any personal items on the person which will later be sent to the next of kin with other personal effects.

A general list of items that may be carried by our soldiers

- Loose change that may have been won in poker games or brought from base. (Notes or coinage)
- Personal pictures of family/friends.
- Personal Letters
- Keepsakes
- Cigarettes
- Notebook/Diary
- Wristwatch/Wristbands
- 'K' rations; intended to sustain the individual soldier in the field for up to 48hrs.
- A privately purchased weapon, for example a Pistol or Combat Knife (NOT standard issue) usually with ammunition.
- A copy of the booklet offically produced by our Ministry of Defence with specific information on the combat environment, the enemy and survival advice.
- A personal medical kit intended to stabilise wounds as much as possible while waiting the arrival of a platoon medic.

Officers

Officers carry additional equipment as well as that above, this includes:

- Orders/maps containing information relating to objectives of the officer's unit.
- A standard issue Glock 17 sidearm with clips of ammunition for use in case of capture or failure of primary weapon.
- A high tech GPS unit and compass for navigation purposes ( Note: a specialised navigator within the unit will also be equipped with these.)
- Binoculars

We are a Neutral Nation.

Yet we are armed.

Our Royal Defence Force Personnel do not carry any personal valuables, however Defence Force issued Armour and Weaponry could be looted due to their market price value. Our Personnel Armour are equipped with H2o sequencers which collects humidity in the air and condenses it into drinkable water which only works in certain climates.

Prety much anything: Food, Ammo, Weapons, a couple of grenades, some rations, a canteen, flask, a non-regulation knife, a regulation knife and machete, a flashlight and maybe a Sturdy hat and scarf, an MP3 playing device and headphones, and what ever the dead trooper has looted (usually a decent amount of stuff, as there's a strong tradition in the Syreene States of taking trophies, and the Brass just decided to regulate it.)

Doesn't mean it can't be used, attach it to a tripod, use some power armour, attach it to a vehicle, place it in a turret. Humans could easily use it if weight and or recoil were the only problems.

Not really, most .50 machine gun rounds and larger are placed on tri-pods or turrets, same with smaller .338, and .300 lapua. Autocannons are generally housed in a turret of some kind.

US soldiers are only left on the field where they fell if there is no alternative, and then you may expect the area to be thoroughly plastered with artillery and bombs.

In amongst the blasted and burnt wreckage you may expect to find something which bears a slight similarity to...

- A uniform.

- A few weapons, inclusive of parts from a rifle, a pistol, a knife, a bayonet, and perhaps a small tomahawk.

- A photograph of the recently deceased soldier's loves one(s).

- Standard issue MRE rations.

- A small bag of cookies from home, or perhaps store bought candies.

- US military boots, standard, reinforced, leather, black.

- The shattered bits of what once was likely a helmet.

That's about it that we can think of, right now.
Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi, also known as Colonel Gaddafi, siezed the leadership of Libya illegally through force of arms on 1 September, 1969. Those who call him the legitimate leader in Libya really need to do some more homework, and perhaps take a good look at themselves morally.

Both sides have problems, and the rebels are certainly working with criminals, but the man they are fighting is not a saint. Remove them both, and let the Libyan people decide. Is it too much to request a little backbone from our leaders in this?

Very little is worth looting off a Ceann Legionary corpse, for this very reason. However, some things are left for the express purpose of being found by would-be looters.

Among them are the dogtags, their Saxe Knife, their Ceann National Seal, and a note declaring such: To whomever finds this fallen soldier: The burden falls upon you to return these items--the dogtags, knife, and seal--to the nearest Ceann outpost or embassy. As a reward for the return of these items, you shall be given a sum of money totaling a hundred Federal Bills or local currency for anyone below the rank of Lieutenant, and up to a thousand for anyone above. These items are of personal value to Ceannairceach and her soldiers, and we would like them back. Cheers, Grand Chancellor Markus A. Lindon. Along with this are the various weapons, uniform, and other such items usually carried by the Legionaries.

Kharsian troops, if left behind, which is doubtful considering we try to recover all fallen soldiers as well as their equipment, would be carrying their rifle, a sidearm, their uniform, field rations, combat knive(s), an entrenching tool, extra ammunition (7.62x54 for the rifles, .45 ACP for the pistols), map, GPS, watch, night-vision goggles, gas mask, a hydration pack, ammo salvaged from whoever they were fighting (Kharsian soldiers are expected to recover any ammo from the defeated enemy if possible), and possibly some personal stuff (letters, photos, etc.)
