The Republic uses Private Defense Agencies (PDAs) for protection in all but one of our cities. This was not always the case, but it has been a trend for several decades. There is one government funded police department remaining, in the capital city of Sergeville. There is a massive push to privatize that department as well, but this has not yet happened.

The most common form of police work in D-16, is simply killing human slaves (By turning off their brain implant chips) as they commit crimes. Though if human rebels are to be captured, our A14s are usually called to hunt them down.

(minus the Head-dress, that's for holiday's) Nothing much to say.
the police (we call them "Public Guards") are civilized and do not use force unless the life of another, or themselves are in danger.
the usual weapons the Public Guards have are the bow and arrow, a long sword, and two daggers.
The leaders themselves are considered Public Guards, their weapons are the Reigna Axes of Holie (King's Holy Axe)

No such thing as regular police. You either take care of it yourself (Unilisian's don't fuck around), or those that commit crime disappear because of the Blood Guard knowing what they had planned before they could even do it (thus, they are stopped for what they had planned before they could do so).

Local police are mostly good, hard-working men and women, possessed of a sense of civic responsibility.

Moving up to the national scale, the paramilitary Gendarmerie royale du Valiquette (GRV) is, on the whole the same thing. With more guns.

I must agree, you have some serious problems with your society if your average police officer anything more then a knive/bullet proof vest and a pistol for standard patrol. These sorts with police who look like they would be better suited to fighting tanks then chasing down pickpockets, must have serious crime problems.

Unlike some nations, Gallan police officers are well-equipped, well-trained, and generally reasonable people who can be politely asked questions without getting shot. We also have a police force, again, unlike some people.

Public Constable:

*The officer on the right is wearing the uniform of Gallan constables from late 1957-1979. The uniform has become somewhat stereotypical of the Constables, and is often used to depict a humourous, bumbling police officer in comedy roles.

Riot Officer:

Modern day Gallan police officers tend to be armed with the Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun, or the indigenous M10 PDW, chambered in the 4.6x35mm Gallan (a necked down .22 Hornet). For heavier applications, officers can get access to the AA-12 automatic shotgun, the Mossberg 590A1 shotgun, the M12 assault rifle (chambered in 6.5x45mm Gallan, a shortened intermediate variant of the 6.5x50mm Gallan), and the M7 rifle (chambered in the 6.5x50mm Gallan). In general, officers tend to carry at least two subguns on their person, and one shotgun in the car.

The primary vehicle of the Gallan police is the Mitsubishi Lancer, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R, although other vehicles such as the Ford Focus and Holden Statesman are used for specialty duties such as VIP transport. In the past, vehicles such as the Ford Torino, Dodge Polara, and Volkswagen Beetle were used.

My nation's still got pissed off Communists with M-16s, RPGs, and even the occasional T-72 (or T-90 if it's a "high threat area") hiding out in the slums.

Besides that, knowing that attempting to resist those three Enforcers on the corner is hopeless (and running usually won't get you far- GWO LEOs are authorized to use potentially lethal force such as shooting someone's legs in the event of a pursuit), and that they've got the capability to order the lockdown of every 300 meter section of the city within a five mile radius (via the Civil Control System), you're probably not going to commit a crime. Unless you go completely bonkers or get extremely desperate.

Thus, crime in the GWO, while uncommon, is almost exclusively terrifying. While smaller crimes such as petty theft are virtually nonexistent, there's still murders, shooting sprees, and hostage situations. Plus, relatively serious crimes get even worse- a normal convenience store robbery turns into a siege between criminals armed with assault rifles and a swarm of CCU officers outside with equally deadly equipment, and a bank robbery can turn into a full-blown war in the streets. Of course, the frequency of said robberies is also lower.

This is the tradeoff in law enforcement- you can either have tons of semi-serious crimes (i.e. muggings, etc), or very scattered horrific crimes (i.e. bank robberies turned into warfare on the streets every five-ten years).

The Holy Empire of Theothryth is still behind the times, despite having advance technology. We cling to the old ways of our nation, swordsmanship is valued as the greatest skill one should have in the Holy Empire and guns have just recently been introduced. All police of the Holy Empire of Thoethryth are trained in both the use of side arms as well as the use of swords. The armor worn by the Holy Empire's Saint Enforcers, what we call our police, is made of a special alloy only found on our island. This alloy has been tested to withstand even direct hits from RPG and Bazooka rounds. Thanks to the efficiency of the Saint Enforcers, crime within Theothryth is non-existent. Taking the Entry Test into the Saint Enforcers is mandatory for all males at the age of ten. Should they past the Entry Test, they are to enroll in Basic Training. During the following twelve years of Basic Training, the Squire will earn the rank of Saint Enforcer and be deployed within hot zones. Due to the low crime rate of Theothryth, most Saint Enforcers only see action once every few months.

Image

Should war come to our lands, the Saint Enforcers act as our first, last and only line of defense and are granted access to several specialty weapons. One of which includes Light Blades, sword weapons designed to emit a beam of highly dangerous and yet safely controlled plasma energy.

Image

Should the battles become too dangerous for the Saint Enforcers, we deploy the Guardian Angel task force. A small squad of elite Saint Enforcers trained to pilot Large Scale Combat Battle Armors, or LSCBA for short, known as Guardian Angles. The LSCBA are roughly 20 feet tall, due to the high cost of producing them there are never more than six deployed at any given time.

Image

We are willing to trade technologies, should the offer prove to be useful to the Holy Empire of Theothryth.

Police? Crime is totally unknown. The last crime wave we had was just unemployed constables. Private citizens apprehended them and turned them over to be reeducated. And that was in the 1880s.

The Police (Called Inquisitors around here) just activate the minute bomb attached to your spinal cord if you don't behave.
If that doesn't work (They tend to get loose and blow up a spleen or something), they just fire their machine guns, grafted to their arms.

Policing in Inutoland is divided up by the nine states, with each state operating its own police force(s). Most of the nine states and the capital territory have state-wide police forces; Leyan and Purutala only have local community forces.

In addition to these, there is the Confederate Customs Patrol (CCP; if you want to be nasty, you call them "CoCuP", otherwise they're just the "Polisa", or "Patrol"), a transjurisdictional force initially created in the early days of the confederation to tackle cross-border smuggling (hence the name) and chase criminals fleeing across jurisdictional boundaries.

These days, the CCP's role is similar to a combination of the US Marshals and Interpol; they handle transjurisdictional policing and facilitate the coordination of local police forces.

Most police in Inutoland are not kick-ass warriors. We believe that most of the time they shouldn't have to be. They are generally well-trained in actual law enforcement, not intimidation and combat techniques. (We don't even want to think about the crime rates that would necessitate that). Most of them carry firearms, but conider it a really bad day when they have to draw them, let alone fire them. Discharge of firearms, even if no-one is hurt, makes the evening news.

Police Officers wear Dark Purple suits with all the gear on a special belt, we do not use violence, we only attempt to stop the attacks of the criminal, the handcuffs are computer operated so key loss isn't a problem

Police Generals wear Dark Purple suits with a turqouise stripe. They are given more advanced belts and the trusted ability to use pepper spray.

Police Masters wear Dark Purple suits with 2 turqouise stripes. They are given even more advanced belts and are the only ones authorised to unlock handcuffs

Policemen drive electric and solar cars with a large turqouise light, no siren is used, instead the police use a loudspeaker. Chases are uncommon, as the city police stations are connected through a system, so if the criminal escapes into another city, the police there know also.

Why have police, when all of Jervak is armed? Why have jails, when rehabilitation is either the first choice, or simple execution the second? (Possibly the first, if the crime is serious enough like multiple rapes, murders, etc. In that case, execution, you can't obviously expect everyone to be rehabilitated, so they must inevitably be taken out of society for good.)

Plus it's up to the community to decide what happens.
