Geography, Environment, States, Climate, and and Map

Geography

*The total land area of the Allied States of Tavalu is estimated to be 102,000 Square miles.
*The total water area is unknown since Tavalu is a collection of islands.
*There are a couple mountains on the islands of Tuvalu and Ruritania.
*The highest mountain on the islands is Mt. Tuva on the island of Tuvalu at 2,355 feet.
*The lowest are on Tavalu is sea level.

Environment

There used to be a wide range of forests and animals on the States of Tavalu, but since the massive growth in population and the economy, wide deforestation has spread across all the states, the wide range of plants and animals has declined and the land has been labeled as barren and inhospitable.

There are an estimated 54 different mammals and 75 different bird species on the islands of Tavalu, and an estimated 125 plants.
The numbers have shrank dramatically from 50 years ago when there were 75 mammals and 125 Bird species. Although plant life seems fairly steady with 132 plant species 50 years ago. This is due largely to population growth and the government giving the Ok to cut down the forests in order to mine for uranium. The Government has since tried to stay eco-friendly, wit the introduction of the Department of Environment.

The States that make up the Allied States of Tavalu are as followed,

1.Ruritania.
2.Tuvalu
3.Sangala
4.Algaria

6.Eopa
7.Canorlla
8.Argway
9. Savan
10.Wanarace

Climate

The climate of the Allied States of Tavalu is tropical and therefor the temperatures are between 75-85 degrees all year long.
Tavalians enjoy almost year round sunshine, except in the rain mouth of January, although there is at least 2 days of rain a mouth.
The average rainfall a year is around 15 inches of rain a year.

The government, due to recent pollution from cars and power plants, have issued a law where the States must now use wind and solar power for there energy resources.

Global warm advocates warn that because of global warming the low lying State of Wanarace will be 75% under the ocean by 2075, although the government of Tavalu has shrugged off such threats and has not issued any statement regarding the warnings.

History

The Tavalians are recorded as early as the early 17th century, a French ship recorded the sightings of "Barbaric and filthy Sub-Human People". These notes were dated by the famous traveler Admiral Lord Gaeral, who recorded seeing these people in the tropic pacific region, in the area where the Tavalion islands are today. The French seemed uninterested in the area and sailed past these islands.
----------
1700s, a time of trade, power and stability
Until around 1750 the islands in the region focused on faimly life and just getting by, until the people in the region began to trade with other countries and life began to improve.

This is around the time governments in the region began to sprout up and many kings promised large trade with outside countries as trade was becoming popular and every citizen demanded more and more goods.

The King of Tuvalu was must successful in trading with outside countries and he even managed to ally with other islands in the region who began to follow under his influence.

The king of Barbata, taking power in 1765 and naming the island after himself, was a selfish and ruthless king who only cared about conquering nearby islands, although he died 2 years later and never fulfilled his goals. His son king Barbata II (power in 1767)was not fit to be a king and sent Barbata into a fragile economic situation as trade stopped on the island. When King Barbata II died in 1785, his power was then given to his son Barbata III who took power on March 17, 1785 he was determined to increase trade and become a major power in the region, hating Tuvalu because of how prosperous it had become unlike his island, a hatred that would destroy his reign. He did pull his island out of the slump and it begin to trade and improved its living conditions dramatically, the military also became a very powerful force.
----------
1800s a time of War and Tension

The History of the Tavalion islands seems to come alive in the 1800s.

The main islands at this time were the two regionally powerful nations of Tuvalu and Barbata. It is estimated each island had around 100,000 people and records indicate that Tuvalu had around 24,000 troops and Barbata had around 15,000 troops. Each island had around 10 ships for trading purposes. Tuvalu was an economically powerful nation with high volumes of trading. When war broke out trading stopped and the small economies of both nations focused on the war.

Due to there close proximity to each other and their hatred of one another the island nation of Barbata (Eopa today) and Tuvalu went to war on October 14, 1801, as the King of Tuvalu, King Humo, and King barbata III each made a declaration of war.

On October 25, 1801 the Tuvalion ships immediately set sail for Barbata, which was 15 miles away. Tuvalu controlled other island nations around it, notably Wanarace and Aurala. As the ships of Tuvalu approached Barbata, the ships landed and so began one of the worst massacres of Tavalion history. Barbata troops were waiting in their fortified positions right off the beach, as Tuvalions stormed ashore Barbata troops open fired and killed over 8,000 troops.

This act forced king humo to rethink his war plan and he went on the defensive as he fell into the Barbata plan of weakening the Tuvalion force. Tuvalu had no choice but to take the battles to sea and on November 5 the battle of the Killer sea began and lasted until November 10 when both fleets began retreating under the strain of few reinforcements.

King humo demanded for 10 more ships and the training of 3,000 more troops to join in the war.

The war stalled while both sides frantically built war ships.

While waiting for the ships to be completed the Canorlla nation declared war on Barbata when Tuvalu offered a grand alliance agreement of an upfront payment of 50,000 Tuvalu dollars and small payments from then on out, until the war was over. Canorlla was a rather weak island but due to the strain of war was stronger at the time then both Tuvalu and Barbata. Canorlla sent 5 war ships as aid and sent 3,200 troops as well.

On Febuary 5, 1802 a major sea battle broke out again as Tuvalu and Barbatas warships were complete, due to Canorllas plan of Sea Flanking Barbatas ships, the Barbata ship fleet was destroyed and with it, 8,000 troops who lost their lives as 3 transport ships were sunk.

With such devastating loses Barbata went on the defense and with the troop landing of 6,400 troops on March 5, 1802 on Barbatas shores King Barbata III searched for a way for peace.

Tuvalu and Canorlla troops captured 4 towns and captured half of the land of Barbata. King Barbata III retreated to the island of Sangala, the only island under Bombata control, on March 24, 1802.

On April 5, after Tuvalu troops striped the government of Barbata of its power, King Barbata came back for a peace agreement.

On April 7, 1802 a peace agreement was signed and King Barbata was striped of power and a new government was set up by King Humo.

The new island nation was called Eopa.

With the War over Tuvalu was on the edge of collapse as its citizens demanded free trade again, which the ships were sent into war so trade stopped.
The economy of Tuvalu practically collapsed under the zero trade in almost 6 months. As payment to the citizens King Humo ordered his 7 remaining war ships to be placed into trade duty and ordered 5 more trade ships to be built.

Canorlla received its last payment from Tuvalu on June 2, 1802 and began focusing on its open trade with other island nations in the region, while Tuvalu focused on long distant trade with Empires of the world.

Until around 1882 Tuvalu focused on trade with the empires of the world gaining military, economic and social gains in the region.

By 1890 Tuvalu had the largest military force, the largest navy, and traded with outside Empires over ten times as much as the other islands in the region.

The economy of Tuvalu and other islands around the region expanded rapidly at the time do to the discovery of gold.

The population of the region by the close of the 1800s was around 2 million, due in part to large immigration from outside countries.
----------
1900s Surge, Slump, War, and Unification

At the turn of the century the islands became close in trade and economics and each island could trade something unique that other islands in the region could not produce.

With gold becoming a hot item many people began to trade it on an international scale and the economies of the region began to increase to new highs.

Many people in the region began to live life like kings themselves and in 1922 when oil was discovered, the economies of the region increased by 200% and trade increased by 500% with gold, oil, and metal being the hottest items on the market.

This is when the islands became very close in trade and agreed to set some trading restrictions, to make trade even for all the islands in the region, the first multi-island agreement, signed on September 15, 1923.

By 1929 trade was driving the region into a powerhouse and oil, gold, and common goods were taking over trade. The governments in the region became rich and they had huge Treasury surpluses. On January 29, 1929 the governments of all the islands agreed to set up a banking system, it was a huge hit and almost everyone deposited huge sums of cash.

Then at the end of 1929, with the Stock Market crash, the islands were sent into a huge slump with trading falling almost to a halt. Only a few goods made it to the islands and only a few goods were sold. The governments began to set up huge unemployment lines and funds for the unemployed as unemployment hit 62%, sending the governments into debt of massive amounts. The government began to look at other ways to find jobs for the population as trade was a huge part of the economy, and at that time is when the regions oil supply ran dry. In an attempt to stimulate the economy the government employed people to build roads and to build war ships since the current ships were beginning to age.

Before the slump the region together became the 7th largest economy in the world, after the slump it fell off the charts and never recovered until the early 2000's.

When WW2 broke out in 1939 the region had 45 warships and recruited 100,000 men for the war, the region never went into total war but did increase its military spending and navy to counter region aggression.

On March 6, 1940 the 10 nations agreed to put their budgets and armed forces together in order to better protect their nations. They were in no major battles but the navy was recorded as sinking 7 enemy ships through the war.

At the close of the World War the region still had high unemployment and the regions began to help each other stimulate the economies, with trade increasing and industry spreading to the region they were out of the slump and recovered to higher then average levels by 1950.

Seeing the advantage and how close the people of the regions were on October 21, 1954 the Tavalian treaty was signed in Tuvalu City, Tuvalu.

The regions each agreed on the name Allied States of Tavalu in order to make it fair and honor the regions strongest nation Tuvalu, yet not to identify it directly in the name.

By 1955 the official government was set up and had the task of equaling out the states economically, politically, and socially. They spent most of the remaining 1900s focusing on those goals and the paying off the high national debt (which was payed off in 2002)
----------
2000s Increasing region influence and Economic boom

By 2000 the Allied States of Tavalu began increasing the economy to new highs.

In 2000-2007 The country of Tavalu stayed quite equal in terms of size and power. The economy grew at a rapid pace but the country continued to be concerned with itself. The government stayed out of peoples lives and the country was peaceful.

When Ryder Richards took office in 2007 he promised to bring Tavalu to the world stage. The country, after 2007, had increased in size by a couple hundred million and the economy had grown at an unprecedented pace.

The country is was them one of the most economically important nation in the world. According to the 2010 census the country's wealth had increased by 3567% in 20 years.

In the year 2011 the country found itself fighting on the world stage in the third World War. Tavalu declared war on China, Vietnam, North Korea, and Iran, after China declared war on Tavalu. The war lasted almost 5 years and cost Tavalu Trillions of dollars. The country had spent vast amounts of reserved surplus and had taken in trillions in debt from foreign nations. Tavalu at the end of the war had sent all 8 million troops back to the home islands and had not occupied and did not have any base in any beaten country.

On November 10, 2021 the Allied States of Tavalu, then known as the Peoples Republic, declared war on Saudi Arabia. This began the long and brutal Middle Eastern Campaign of Tavalu's Empire Expansion. This was also the date that is recognized as the start of World War IV. Tavalu conquered the country within a month, due to Tavalu sending millions of troops and supplies.

Tavalu then declared war on other middle Eastern countries, saying it was to control and relax the oil market, which it did. Oil hit an all time low of around 6 United States Dollars. With the fall of Iran, the middle east campaign ended and Tavalu began a few months later the African Campaign, which lasted only two months. Tavalu then began its Indochina campaign, which lasted a month.

Tavalu, then declared itself an Empire and effectively had control of 90% of the oil market. It was not known at this point how much money the government had spent.

Two years after Tavalu closed its expansion war, Russia declared war on the Empire of Tavalu. A week later the United States, Canada, China, most of the European Union, and South Africa all declared war on the Empire of Tavalu. This led to Tavalu fighting on four fronts. With the fighting Tavalu did capture Japan and India, bringing Tavalu at the height of expansion, but Tavalu was finding itself struggling to defend its vast territory.

Three months later Tavalu found itself losing territory to Russia, United States, Europe, and China. Tavalu was falling fast, but all allied nations were surprised to hear Tavalu order a full retreat of all forces to one of four areas. Many thought this was due to Tavalus inability to defend its land, but was accually due to Tavalu struggling to pay for war supplies and supply routes under attack.

Tavalu after ordering the retreat to four areas, began its massive invasion of Australia. Tavalu, two months later, found itself cash strapped and unable to continue the Australian invasion. The United States then finished capturing the african nations and China launched a massive invasion of Japan. 10 days later, Tavalu ordered a full retreat of all troops overseas. With that, all officers began to evacuate the strongholds. The Generals of the areas were ordered to stay.

10 days after the announced retreat, the General in Japan surrendered to Chinas Army. The evacuation, which would have took months due to 25 million troops overseas, saw itself only transporting about 29,000 troops every 12 hours. This led to a massive surrender in India, and in Saudi Arabia, where the surrender marked the end of the overseas war, over 20 million soldiers were under allied hands. This marked the worst military disaster in Tavalu and world history.

The Allied Powers, led by China and the United States, then began to prepare for Tavalu homeland invasion. Two days after the overseas war ended, troops began to land in Tavalu with little resistance. Civilians cheered as United States troops, along with China Troops, marched through the city.

On June 28th, 2026 a group of Chinese troops shot David Railings. Two hours later Tavalus War General surrendered.

On June 30th, 2026 at 9:31 a.m. the General of the Army, Doug Vernike, signed the Surrender Terms. He was quoted as saying that he was glad to end the six year war of terror. The war that David Railings started killed over 17 million people and spent 19 trillion on the war. This put Tavalu in massive debt, and a crises war under way. The allies the controled Tavalu for the next 10 years until Tavalu offically paid of its debt.

Tavalu, post-war, found itself below the world average in Technology inovation, where it used to be first, and found its economy had been surpassed by China. It also found its people under educated, and its government in trouble.

Harry Morter became Prime Minister after the formal Allied occupation ended, in November of 2036. He promised to bring Tavalu back onto the world stage and to carry Tavalu back to its top position in the world. Harry Morter died suddenly just 8 days later. This put many citizens feeling like their country was about to collapse.

On December 6, 2036 Ryder Richards, the man who put Tavalu on top, ran for president and was elected. He had promised Tavalu to be the top in education, economy, and innovation. In 2040, Tavalu was back on top with Ryder Richards announcing Plan B, the expansion of the Tavalu military.

The basic education is done through grades K (Kindergarten) through 12 grade. Tavalu is very strict on education and the education law of 1956 states that students must at least attend education K through 12th grade, and that it is against the law to "drop out". The penalty for dropping out of school is a Federal Fine of $1,000 for dropping out for one year and every year after that it is doubled. As an example if a student dropped out in 10th grade, they would pay of fine of $6,000 (1,000 for the first year (10th grade), 2,000 for the second year(11th grade) and 3,000 for the third year(12th grade).) In 1964 the law was tweaked and with the penalty you are also not allowed to become employed in Tavalu. This law as brought the drop out rate from 10% in 1955 to almost nonexistent in 2010.

To pay for the high price of collage the government offers "rebates" to those who receive a A-B average in collage. The "rebates" are a huge success not only to get more to attend collage but also has given Tavalu one of the most impressive collage average grades. Tavalu is known for its high education rate, as well as its top of the line grades.

*In a 2010 study Tavalu had one of the hardest education systems in the world, as well as the highest percentage of graduates and GPA average.
__________

Health

The life expectancy in Tavalu is 77.3 years, which is decent. Tavalu has a Government controlled Health care system.

The health care is broken into 3 main plans, the Basic plan, Added plan, or Elite plan.

The government pays for everyone's basic plan coverage but those who choose the Added or Elite plans will pay the differnce from the Basic plan to the government by the end of the year.

*65% of Tavalions are under the Basic plan, vs 10% for the Added plan, and 20% under the Elite plan.

The difference between the plans are mostly quicker care, better rooms, cheaper upfront pay, higher spending cap, cheaper meds, and more coveraged visits.
Most of Tavalu is under the Basic plan which is 100% paid for by the government, but only provides and covers the basic health care costs. Most of Tavalu can afford to keep the Basic plan, which everyone starts under after the age of 18, while only the richest or most surgery pron people go under the elite plan. The added plan is more favored by those who have high medication cost, vs doctor visit or surgery costs. The government will usually cover the added plan 100% depending on the income of the family it covers.

All children from Birth until they turn 18 are under the Child plan, which covers all children expenses, surgery costs, doctor visits, vaccinations, and any health related costs, no matter how expensive, this has led to Tavalu having low Birth mortality (1 per 1,000 births) and Tavalu is recognized as having the best child care in the world.

The Obesity rate in Tavalu is less then .1% and the overweight rate is 1%.

Those who are overweight or Obese are knocked off the government health care plans and are put on the extra plan, where the obese and overweight are forced to pay for their own health costs of which is related to their large size. As an example the government would pay for a broken leg surgery, but would not fully pay for heart sugary if it was related to their overweight problem.

The Extra plan as been criticized for being like the governments overweight watch list, or the governments rejection of Tavalions based on their size, but many more people approve of the measure saying "People can choose how big they are in most cases, their are many ways to lose weight and it is even easier to just not become overweight in the first place."
__________

Crime

Crime in Tavalu is very low due to the powerful police force and the education given to youth about how bad crimes and drugs are. The education classes and the police make Tavalu have a very low crime rate vs other countrys.

The most strict laws to combat crime is the drug laws. All drugs that are abused, drug by law defined as any substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function, will be dealt with strictly. The exception being Caffeine, any drug being abused, most abuses are taking those outlawed, like meth or pot, or just abusing the drug like alcohol, will result in a fine no less then 1,000 dollars for the first offense.
Everyone in Tavalu is allowed, by law, to carry a knife anywhere for protection, leading to a drop in crime overall. Police are the only ones allowed to carry firearms into a public place.

Law, Internal Issues\

Immigration

In Tavalu anyone is welcome to the country as long as they apply for citizenship, which takes about a week after the recent laws past.
To counter illegal immigrants the nation has enacted 3 laws, one on illegal immigrant punishment, one on how to become a citizen, and one on how to counter illegal immigration.
-----
The First law passed on August 28th,2010 states all information on how Tavalu deals with illegal immigrants.
Article 1 states that those who are caught sneaking in through a harbor, airport or any other way into the country, will receive less harsh punishments then those who are caught living in or residing in the country.

The fine for being caught sneaking into the country is a fine of $5,000, punishment by a year in prison, being shipped back to the illegals home countries, or a mix of either. Those who are caught in Tavalu will be immediately arrested under Alien Charges, which is a fine up to $10,000, 3 years of prison time, or being shipped within 1 day of arrest.

The TISF is in charge of guarding, combating, and finding illegal immigrants. The TISF (Tavalion Illegal Security Forces) are authorized to use any force necessary to combat illegal immigration.Illegal immigrants by this law do not have the same rights as the citizens of Tavalu, therefor excessive fines and force can be given to those who are Aliens of the country.

By law though, after the nation the the illegal is from is discovered and verified, the illegal is treated under the same rights of their home country.
-----
The Second law was passed on August 29th,2010 which states how one becomes a citizen of Tavalu.
Under the law one either must apply
(a) In their home country before arriving in Tavalu using their home countries immigration transfer office
(b) Through the internet on Tavalus official website
(c) immediately when arriving in Tavalu. Although if arriving in Tavalu before citizenship is granted one still must provide

(I) A legit passport issued by their home government
(II) A legal document showing their past address
(III) A birth certificate issued by their home country.

If the information above is not presented to the Tavalion office of Immigrate affairs one will have to wait up to 3 days for the legal documents to be sent from the immigrants home country, in that time one may be issued a Tavalu permit slip, showing citizenship pending. While one arrives in Tavalu is stopped by the TISF officer one must present legal documentation either showing
(I) That they are here to apply for citizenship
(II) That they have been approved by the Tavalion Office of Immigrate Affairs or
(III) Legal documentation(passport usually) that they are issued and permitted to enter the country.

Without such documentation one will either be shipped, fined, or in such extreme cases jailed(if fleeing) for a given period by a Immigration judge. The average immigrate may take up to a week to be approved, and those who are denied must either leave the country within 2 weeks of the rejection notice date, apply again fixing any reason for rejection, or receive a work permit for 1 year(if already employed in the country for other affairs).

Those who stay past the two week period will be fined $4,000 each week they continue to stay in the country, which in case if the debt cant be paid before their departure, they will be jailed for failure to pay debts owned to the Tavalion government.
-----
The Third law which states how the country will counter illegal immigration was passed on August 30th,2010.

It states that the TISF is the only legit security force for evading, capturing, patrolling, or dealing with illegal immigrants. The TISF is authorized to patrol the Tavalion Harbors, the airports, International roads, the Tavalion Bridges and any public place in which immigrants may come into Tavalu at.

The force can not capture any illegal until prove either by lack of documentation or legit documents that prove their illegal status. Those who are found to be illegal lose their rights the citizens of Tavalu have and immediately become Alien status, meaning that any use of force is authorized to deal with illegals, the use of firearm can not be used unless the illegal is turning into a danger to the citizens of Tavalu, in which case firearms are permitted for public safety reasons.

The TISF is the only unit authorized to jail, fine, or capture illegals, but the regular police forces are permitted to prove if an illegal is present or not and are authorized to suspect and deal with finding out if a person is legal or not, although one may not approach any person who is suspected of being illegal, and can only search for a person in the Tavalion database if the suspect was pulled over for another reason other then being a suspect. Once discovered of being illegal a regular cop may handcuff the illegal but must wait for a TISF personal to prosecute and take the illegal away.
