Lunar Project In Action, Victory Launches
IASA launches Victory on its last mission
Valenwood Space and Aeronautics Complex, The Imperial Theocracy Today, the Imperial Space and Aeronautics Administration (ISAA) launched the space shuttle Victory (STS-101) into outer space, signifying its last mission, as it will never return to Earth. The ten astronauts aboard will dock at one of the biggest space stations built by the Empire, the Freedom Star 6, and make returns to grab supplies for the Empire's newest space experiment, the lunar colony project known as Operation New Horizon. The operation was announced in late February of 2007, and was at first scrapped due to the huge budget it called for. Private corporations and independent people donated enough funds to make the project work.
Four more space shuttles will launch this month, those being the Challenger (STS-399), Skywalker (STS-546), Dreamer (STS-936), Tiberius (STS-654), and Valerius (STS-121). One will join the colonists, and hold down the fort as the other makes returns to Freedom Star 6 monthly. The other three will make trips to and from Earth to bring supplies to the colonists at Freedom Star 6. Supplies include solar-resistant insulated housing pods, experimental terraforming pellets, food supplies, and communications equipment. A "Soft Capture Docking Mechanism", based on the docking adapter that was to be used on the Orion spacecraft, was installed during the last servicing mission in anticipation of this event. The Victory, had this not been its last mission, would have been fitted with the external airlock/docking adapter, similar to the ones on the newer three shuttles.
The Empire has again claimed new territory!
