The Kingdom of Rome (commonly known as the Roman Kingdom or the RK) is a sovereign state located in TBD. The country is situated mostly in central TBD, where its seven provinces lie on the island between tbd and tbd. The Roman Kingdom is bordered by tbd and tbd to the insert direction.
The Roman Kingdom is a unitary state governed under a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary system, with its seat of government in the capital city of Rome. Rome also has several territories, colonies, and assorted provinces in other regions. These are remnants of the Roman Empire which, at its height in 1917, encompassed many millions of miles and was one of the largest empires on the face of the globe. Roman influence can still be observed in the language, culture, and legal systems of many of its former territories and colonies.
At 3.57 million square miles (9.25 million km2) and with around 1.869 billion people, the Roman Kingdom is the tbd-largest country in region by total area and the tba-largest by both land area and population. Rome is a very ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries (including its former territories). The geography and climate of Rome is also extremely diverse and is home to a variety of species.
Rome is a highly developed country and ranks 1st in region and 212th in the world for Fastest-Growing Economies. Rome's advanced economy is one of the largest in the world, relying chiefly upon its information technology and defense sectors, as well as its abundant natural resources and well-developed trade networks, especially with the Cirona, with which it has had a long and complex relationship.
The Roman Kingdom also plays a prominent role in the military, cultural and diplomatic affairs within the region. The RK is referred to as a first world power and retains considerable economic, cultural, military, scientific and political influence internationally. It is a recognized nuclear weapons state and ranks 1st in region and 925th in the world for Largest Defense Forces.
Since 1948, the Roman Kingdom has been a full member of the World Assembly. It has been a member of the Vespañolan Defense Pact since 2002; it is also a member of the tbd, the TBA, and the Organisation for Economic Advancement (OEA). Rome is the founding member nation of the Stonewall Alliance and the Roman Commonwealth.

ETYMOLOGY
The Kingdom of Rome is a highly-developed nation with a population of 1.869 billion souls. The Roman Kingdom is a large nation in region, with dozens of territorial holdings scattered across several regions - these are considered part of the mainland. Citizens hailing from Rome are known as "Romans."
Roman Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy whose government operates as a unitary parliamentary democracy. The monarch of Rome, currently His Majesty Raphael II, sits as a figurehead on the Roman throne, but also as a binding and unifying symbol for Romans worldwide. The monarch is such a popular person, that he/she is usually seen as the embodiment of Rome itself. In actuality, the monarch only enjoys ceremonial power, and the day-to-day governing of the nation (thus the real political power) is left to the Chancellor and Congress.
His Majesty's Government (HMG), which is comprised of the Crown, the Chancellor's Office, Parliament, and the Judiciary, is the main political organ that runs the nation. Parliament, the legislative branch, is bicameral, meaning it has an upper and a lower house. The Roman Parliament is made up of a House of Representatives (the lower house) and the House of Lords (the upper House).

MONARCHY
The Monarchy of Rome (commonly referred to as the Roman monarchy) is the constitutional monarchy of the Kingdom and its overseas territories. Representing very nearly a thousand years of stable leadership, the rituals, traditions, customs and protocol associated with the Roman monarchy continue to fascinate people everywhere. The Roman monarchy is made up of the reigning King or Queen, his/her consort, their immediate family, the extended family, and the Royal Household, which supports and facilitates the monarch in the exercise of his royal duties and perogatives. The current monarch, Queen Luciana II, has reigned since February 6, 1952. A recent poll shows that 87% of Roman citizens rank the monarchy above any other public institution. As cermonial and political figures representing the Kingdom, the monarch and his immediate family undertake various official, ceremonial and representational duties. As a constitutional monarch, the King is limited to non-partisan functions such as bestowing honours and appointing the Chancellor. Though the ultimate executive authority over the government of the Kingdom is still by and through the monarch's royal prerogative, these powers may only be used according to laws enacted in Parliament, and, in practice, within the constraints of convention and precedent. In the Constitution of Rome, the Monarch (otherwise referred to as the Sovereign or "His/Her Majesty", abbreviated HM) is the Head of State. Oaths of allegiance are made to the King and his lawful successors. God Save the Queen (or God Save the King) is the Roman national anthem, and the reigning monarch appears on postage stamps, coins, and banknotes.
The Monarch takes little direct part in Government. The decisions to exercise sovereign powers are delegated from the Monarch, either by statute or by convention, to Ministers or officers of the Crown, or other public bodies, exclusive of the Monarch personally. Thus the acts of state done in the name of the Crown, such as Crown Appointments, even if personally performed by the Monarch, such as the King's Speech and the State Opening of Parliament, depend upon decisions made elsewhere:
• Legislative power is exercised by the Crown in Congress, by and with the advice and consent of Parliament (the House of Representatives and the Senate). • Executive power is exercised by Her Royal Majesty's Government, which comprises Ministers, primarily the Chancellor and the Cabinet, which is technically a committee of the Privy Council. The Constitution grants the Chancellor the power to control the Roman Armed Forces. However, nominally the Sovereign to whom members of the forces swear allegiance, is the Commander-in-Chief (For example, the King receives certain foreign intelligence reports before the Chancellor does). • Judicial power is vested in the Supreme Court, who by constitution and statute have judicial independence of the Government. • Powers independent of government are legally granted to other public bodies by statute or statutory instrument such as an Order in Council, Royal Commission or otherwise. • The Sovereign's role as a constitutional monarch is largely limited to non-partisan functions, such as granting honours.
History
The Roman monarchy traces its origins from the Kings of Rome and the Roman Emperors. By the year 100 A.D., the kingdom of San Pellegrino Romana had developed into one of the most advanced ancient empire the world has ever seen. The last Roman Emperor (Flavian Augustus) died in 543 A.D., effectively beginning the collapse of the Roman Empire. The Roman crown then passed to Flavian's son-in-exile, Marcus Tiberius. This pattern continued until around 963 A.D., when the Emperor-in-exile, Lucius Alexander, triumphantly re-conquered Rome and the surrounding provinces. His actions led to the glorious rebirth of Roman supremacy in the area, with Rome once again effectively becoming a Kingdom upon his death. In the year 1219, King Giovanni I signed the Magna Romana, and began the process of reducing the monarch's political powers. The line of succession to the Roman throne is published and updated annually by the Royal Court Circular. According to the Circular, "The line of succession to the Roman throne is ordered by male-preference (cognatic) primogeniture. A person is always immediately followed in the succession by his or her own legitimate descendants (his or her line) except for any legitimate descendants who already appear higher in the line of succession. A person's sons and their lines all come before a person's daughters and their lines. Older sons and their lines come before younger sons and their lines. Older daughters and their lines come before younger daughters and their lines."

THEROMANROYALFAMILY
The Roman Royal Family is the group of close relatives of the monarch of Rome. The term is also commonly applied to the same group of people as the relations of the monarch in her or his role as sovereign of any of the other Roman Commonwealth Realms, thus sometimes at variance with official national terms for the family. Members of the Royal Family belong to, either by birth or marriage, the House of Cartelli, which has been on the throne since 1178.
Although in the Roman Kingdom there is no strict legal or formal definition of who is or is not a member of the Royal Family, and different lists will include different people, those carrying the style His or Her Royal Majesty (HRM), or Her or His Royal Highness (HRH) are always considered members, which usually results in the application of the term to the monarch, the consort of the monarch, the widowed consorts of previous monarchs, the children of the monarch and previous monarchs, the male-line grandchildren of the monarch and previous monarchs, and the spouses and the widows of a monarch's and previous monarch's sons and male-line grandsons.
Members and relatives of the Roman Royal Family historically represented the monarch in various places throughout the Roman Empire, sometimes for extended periods as viceroys, or for specific ceremonies or events. Today, they often perform ceremonial and social duties throughout the Roman Commonwealth and abroad on behalf of the Roman Kingdom, but, aside from the monarch, have no constitutional role in the affairs of government. House of Cartelli
The House of Cartelli is the royal house of the Roman Commonwealth realms. It was formally established by King Valerian by royal proclamation on the 20 June 1837, when ascended to the throne. Although the Roman monarch has been a member of the House of Cartelli since 1093, it was not until Valerian's reign that the House formally adoped its name. Currently, the most prominent member of the House of Cartelli is Queen Luciana II, the current reigning monarch of the Roman Commonwealth realms.

Finances of the Roman Royal Family
As of March of 2012, the Roman Royal Family is currently worth approximately $873 Billion NSD, a $27 Billion NSD increase from May of 2013. This latest figure does not take into account the Crown Jewels or Royal Palaces, which are not passed down from sovereign to sovereign and are instead held in trust for the nation. According to official records released by Caserta Palace, the Roman Royal Family keeps $460 Billion NSD in banks and trusts within the nation, and $413 Billion invested in banks, properties, and other assets overseas. Residences The Sovereign's principal residence in Rome is Caserta Palace. Caserta Palace is the site of most state banquets, investitures, royal christenings and other ceremonies. Another official residence is Carlentini Castle, the largest occupied castle in Rome, which is used principally during weekends and the winter season. The Sovereign's official residence in Kwai Sing is the Government House. The monarch stays at the Government House at least one week each year, and when visiting the city on state occasions.
Historically, Palatine Palace and the Tower of Rome were the main residences of the Roman Sovereign until Henri V acquired Carrara Palace. Carrara was destroyed during the Great Fire of 1674, and subsequently, the royal court moved to St Sebastian's Palace. Although replaced as the sovereign's primary residence by Caserta Palace in 1836, St Sebastian's is still the senior palace and remains the ceremonial Royal residence. For this reason, foreign ambassadors are accredited to the Court of St Sebastian, and the Palace is the site of the meeting of the Accession Council. It is also used by other members of the Roman Royal Family.
Other official residences include Catania House (the official residence of the Prince of Naples), Lazarino Palace, and Navona Palace (another residence in Rome used by minor members of the Royal Family). The palaces belong to the Crown; they are held in trust for future rulers, and cannot be sold by the monarch. Villa del Oeste in Como, Aesterna House in Catania, and Bracciano Castle in Lombardy are privately owned by the Queen.
Transport of the Royal Family
For land-based vehicles, the Roman Royal Family uses several different models purchased from various companies, both domestic and international.
One of the most popular motor car companies used by the Royal Family is the Foehn Motor Car Company. In appreciation for providing excellent service and products to the Roman Royal Family since 1924, Foehn has been awarded several royal warrants.
Security of the Royal Family
Within His Royal Majesty's Ministry of Defense, the Royal Security Service provides protection to various high-profile VIP's. Within the RSS, there are several branches that specialize in various jurisdictions of protection: these include the Diplomatic Protection Division, Government Protection Division and the Royalty Protection Division. The RSS has around 23,500 employees domestically and internationally.
The Royal Security Service provides protection for the Royal Family both nationally and internationally. The RSS, as it is informally known, has responsibility both for guarding the Royal residences within Rome and those outside the city such as Carlentini Castle and Bracciano Castle, policing members of the public on tours of certain royal residences, as well as providing 24-hour uniformed guarding of certain royal buildings. The branch is also the leading agency that offers protection for foreign royals visiting the Roman Kingdom. It is rumored that the first thirty people on the line of succession are given personal security details. Bodyguard details vary in size, usually according to an individual's place in the line of succession and/or special security concerns. The RSS also protects foreign embassies, consular sections, and diplomatic residences throughout Rome. In addition, the RSS provides close-protection to VIPS and members of the Roman diplomatic community both abroad and at home.
Currently, around 5,600 special forces-trained officers, (including uniformed officers, personal bodyguards, and support personnel), look after about 30 members of the Royal Family and their homes.

Raphael II (Raphael Antonio Santiago Cartelli; born May 16, 1953) is the constitutional monarch of the Kingdom of Rome and three other realms that constitute the Roman Commonwealth. He is also head of the Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith.
Raphael was educated at St. Sebastian's, a K-12 preparatory school known for the diverse composition of its student body and its famous alumni. His father ascended to the throne as in 1954. Raphael began to undertake public duties in his father's stead beginning in 1968, when he was invested as the Prince of Naples. Raphael also served in the Royal Navy starting in 1970, eventually reaching the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1982.
Raphael is fluent in Roman, English, Spanish, French, and is currently learning Japanese. His many hobbies include reading, writing, and stamp-collecting. King Raphael is renowned for expanding the Royal Collection - particularly in the fields of fine art and classical sculptures. Raphael is known for his love of Calabrian kilts, an affinity which he has apparently passed down to Prince Francis.
On occasion, it is not unusual for Raphael to make some rather controversial remarks. For example, when he visited Malagas, Raphael spoke with several Roman students and said, "If you stay here much longer, the natives might eat you!" This gaffe had no effect on Roman-Malagan relations, but has since shaped Raphael's reputation in Malagas.

Sophie, Princess RoyalLR GCVL GCVO ADC(P) (Sophie Victoria Elizabeth Cartelli; born 15 April 1990) is the second-born child and only daughter of Raphael, Prince of Naples and Maria, Princess of Naples. Known as the most compassionate of the royal children, and despite her young age, Princess Sophie is the royal patron of fifteen charitable organizations. Princess Sophie is very protective of her family's privacy - even going so far as to pressuring her father to sue a tabloid magazine that published malicious lies about her love life.
Sophie is an avid collector of jewellery: her collection ranges from Van De Kaap Art Deco bracelets, to vintage tiaras with centuries-old royal pedigree. Her 6,000+ piece jewellery collection is estimated to be worth in the neighborhood of $190 million NSD. It is common for her to loan select pieces out to exhibitions and museums around the Roman Commonwealth. Sophie's younger brother, Francis, regularly buys her fine pieces as gifts, which she then adds to her collection.
In 2011, Princess Sophie was rumored to be in a relationship with Lord Nicolas, the son of the Count of Modena, as she was spotted having dinner with him several times at the famed restaurant, Belle Époque. This rumor proved to be untrue, with Sophie stating that, "Albert and I are strictly friends. A romantic relationship between us would never work out, primarily due to the fact that he's not into girls." As of December 2013, The Princess Royal has been engaged to Caesar Jason Augustus of Lacus Magni.
Princess Sophie is second in the line of succession to the thrones of four independent sovereign states known as the Roman Commonwealth Realms. In the line of succession, Princess Sophie is preceded her younger brother sister, HRH The Duke of Venice, and is followed by her uncle, HRH The Duke of Gaeta.

Early Life
While many tabloid magazines suspected Francis of being gay, he was been spotted shopping at various high-end clothes retailers with numerous attractive female companions. Last year, anonymous sources from within Caserta Palace allege that Prince Francis was caught making out with Philip Andreotti, the youngest son of current Chancellor Giancarlo Andreotti. The Royal Press Office did not issue a statement in regards to the aforementioned claim. On October 16, 2011, Prince Francis finally set the record straight (no pun intended) and came out as gay, stating that "I want to be able to live as who I am and not hide it [my sexuality] anymore." Millions of fans have voiced their support for Francis. Since December of 2011, it is customary of Prince Francis to throw an exclusive gala in which various foreign royals, celebrities, and dignitaries are invited to voice their support for LGBT-related causes and charities.
Estimated to be worth $5.6 billion NSD, Francis is the one of the richest teens in the nation. Due to his wealth, Francis is notorious for his lavish spending habits and sometimes wild partying. Every year since 2012, Francis throws the ultra-exclusive summer Bacchanal party in one of his vacation homes across the Kingdom. In January of 2012, he purchased a $187 million NSD private yacht, and a $75 million private island off the coast of Montegiardini. Despite his outlandish purchases, Francis has started several different charities and support organizations. The collective amount raised by these organizations is estimated to total over $8 Billion NSD.
Francis has served in various branches of the Roman Armed Forces since 2010, and is currently enlisted as Lieutenant in the Roman Royal Navy. From September to November of 2012, Francis served in an active duty position aboard the HRMS Surprise as part of Combined Task Force 178 off the waters of Herzoslovakia. Participating in active combat, Francis earned the Operational Service Medal for Qamadan. Francis also currently serves as the Colonel-in-Chief of the Venetian Guards and as a Personal-Aide-de-Camp to His Royal Majesty the King.
Following his visit to Elyomia in mid-June of 2012, it appears that Francis is in a relationship with HRH Crown Prince Jackson II of Elyomia. Despite his flirty reputation, Prince Francis himself has confirmed that Crown Prince Jackson is his first official boyfriend.
Francis is first in the line of succession to the thrones of four independent sovereign states that constitute the Roman Commonwealth Realms. Prince Francis is followed by his sister, HRH The Princess Royal in the line of succession.

As the head of state, the Sovereign remains the "fount of honor." Various orders of knighthood have been created (see below) as well as awards for military service, bravery, merit, and achievement which take the form of decorations or medals. A complete list of approximately 25,500 names is published three times a year, at New Year, Constitution Day, and on the date of the Sovereign's (official) birthday. The awards are then presented by the Sovereign or his designated representative. HRH The Prince of Naples, HRH The Duke of Venice, HRH The Princess Royal, and HRH The Duke of _, have all represented HM The King at investiture ceremonies. Usually, two dozen investiture ceremonies take place every year, with 3/4 of them taking place at Caserta Palace, and the rest at Cartelli Castle and the Palazzo Ducale.
Decorations
Civil decorations are decorations awarded to civilians for distinguished service. Military personnel might also be eligible for services of a non-military nature. Purely civilian decorations are relatively few; general purpose orders with a civilian division are more common.
Military decorations are decorations given to military personnel or units for heroism in battle or distinguished service. They are designed to be worn on military uniform.
Campaign & Service Medals
Medals recognize specific service and there are normally set criteria which must be met. These criteria may include a period of time and will often be particular to a geographic region. Medals are not normally presented by the Sovereign, but rather by other members of the Royal Family.
Orders of Chivalry (Honors)
Honors are split into classes ("orders") and are graded to distinguish different degrees of achievement or service. There are no criteria to determine these levels; various honors committees meet to discuss the candidates and decide which ones deserve which type of award and at what level. Since their decisions are inevitably subjective, the thrice-yearly honors lists often provoke criticism from those who feel strongly about particular cases. Certain honors are awarded solely at the Sovereign's discretion, such as the Order of the Star of Rome, the Order of the Venetian Lion, the Royal Valerian Order, the Order of Merit, and the Royal Family Orders.
By tradition, a departing Chancellor of Rome is allowed to nominate the Chancellor's Departing Honors, to reward political and personal service.
Current Orders of Chivalry
The current system is made up of twelve orders of chivalry. The statutes of each order specify matters such as the size of the order, the use of post-nominal letters and insignia design and display.

Order of the Star of Rome
The Most Noble Order of the Star of Rome is a Roman order of chivalry founded in 1190 during the reign of King Richard I. It is the highest and oldest order of chivalry in San Pellegrino Romana. Membership in the Order is strictly limited and includes the monarch, the Prince of Rome, not more than 30 companion members, and various supernumerary members. Supernumerary members who do not count towards the limit of 30 companions include members of the Roman Royal Family, and members of foreign royal families. An interesting anecdote is that President Jonathan Roosevelt of Noordeinde was appointed as a Stranger Knight to the Order in "recognition of exemplary achievement and to convey the utmost esteem of the Roman people." He holds the unique honor of being the first foreign non-royal to be appointed to the Order (he will probably also be the last foreign non-royal appointed to the Order).

Both of our nations have a strong figurehead, and whilst His Imperial Majesty King William holds more political power than Her Royal Majesty Queen Luciana II, they are both considered to play small roles in the daily running of the government. Luciana II (tba; born May 16, 1953) is the constitutional monarch of the Kingdom of Rome and three other realms that constitute the Roman Commonwealth. He is also head of the Commonwealth and Protector of the Faith.
Raphael was educated at St. Sebastian's, a K-12 preparatory school known for the diverse composition of its student body and its famous alumni. His father ascended to the throne as in 1954. Raphael began to undertake public duties in his father's stead beginning in 1968, when he was invested as the Prince of Rome. Raphael also served in the Royal Navy starting in 1970, eventually reaching the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1982.
Raphael is fluent in Roman, English, Spanish, French, and is currently learning Grittonian.

Prince Alexander, Prince of RomeKR GCVL GCB GCVO OM GDM GCOR GOON GSCS ADC(P) (Alexander Arthur Philip Cartelli; born 4 July 1988) is the heir apparent and eldest son of King Raphael II and Queen-Consort Maria. Since 2008 his major title has been His Royal Highness The Prince of Naples. He is the heir-apparent to the thrones of five sovereign states known as the Roman Commonwealth Realms. He has three siblings, one brother and three sisters, all of who represent their Father at official engagements. But as heir-apparent, Prince Alexander has the heaviest workload of all the royal children. Prince Alexander dated Camilla Mazarin from 2007-2008. Prince Alexander claims he is currently single, but has recently been spotted on several outings with Juliana Van De Kaap, daughter of Rudolf Van De Kaap, the diamond-mining magnate and Chairman of Van De Kaap Diamonds.
Prince Alexander is currently serving as a Captain in the Roman Army alongside his cousin, Prince Charlie. He also serves as the Colonel-in-Chief of the Roman Guards and as a Personal Aide-de-Camp to His Royal Majesty The King.
As The Prince of Naples, Prince Alexander is first in the line of succession to the thrones of five independent sovereign states known as the Roman Commonwealth Realms. In the line of succession, Prince Alexander is preceded by no one and is followed by his younger brother, HRH The Duke of Venice.
Titles and styles
Alexander has held a number of titles throughout his life, as the grandson of the monarch, the son of the monarch and, later, honoured in his own right with princely and noble titles. When in conversation with the Prince of Rome, the practice is to initially address him as Your Royal Highness and thereafter as Sir.
There has been speculation as to what regnal name the Prince will choose upon his succession to the throne. If he keeps his current first name, he will be known as Alexander II. However, it was reported in 2012 that Alexander has suggested he may choose to reign as Augustus VII in honour of his paternal grandfather, and to avoid association with the legendary Alexander I (the Great). Alexander's office immediately denied this report.

History and Profile
The Rome Investment Authority (RIA) was founded in 1936 at the suggestion of King Augustus V to manage the oil and natural gas surpluses by the government of Rome. As a result of its stated strategy to minimize risk from the Roman Kingdom's reliance on energy prices and the defense industry, the fund predominantly invests in international markets (mainly in region, The Alliance of Grittonia, Ixnay) and within the Roman Kingdom itself, outside the energy sector. Prior to establishment of the Rome Investment Authority in 1936, Rome’s Ministry of Finance had a small in-house team to invest revenue from budget surpluses.
The RIA is currently led by our chairman, Sir Gianni Monti. Serving with great distinction as the Minister of Finance from 1995-2003, Sir Monti currently sits on board of directors of several Roman multinational conglomerates. The Rome Investment Authority is estimated to control in excess of $4.6 trillion of national assets.
