Of course, he abdicated and dissolved the throne of Gandoor in response to the Gandoor revolution in 1902, so he wasn't the monarch when he died. Currently his body is entombed in the Museum of the Nzardom of Gandoor, which was the former palace of the Nzards when they ruled Gandoor. (It was decided that he, along with his immediate family, would be allowed to be buried at the former palace like all members of the royal family, although any future descendants would not)

As for the rest of the royal family, his wife (Alexandria, who was 57 at the time of abdication) died in 1928 at the age of 83, his daughter (Susanne, who was 9 at the time of abdication) died in 1981 at the age of 88, and his son (Michael, who was 4 at the time of abdication) died in 1999 at the age of 101.

Specifically: the Kanamekami Kaname Sumire, along with her retinue of advisers and hangers-on, are all packing their bags and belongings and moving out of the so-called Hidden Palace in the city of Himei, finally heeding the advice of the Kaga Restoration Project (located in the de facto regional capital of Shinohara, officially in charge of restoring public buildings throughout the Kaname region) that the structure in question was in danger of falling apart and taking peoples' lives as it did so. (This after eight-and-a-half years.)

Specifically: the Yakumokami Kojima Izumi is sitting at her desk, located deep within a nondescript location at the de facto national and regional capital of Sekai, reading a document while sipping coffee with one hand and nibbling on a croissant with the other. Her husband is in a restroom in the same building, peeing and whistling as is his wont, while musing whether to buy the itty-bitty pricey book of poems by Mijima Taketa (1911-1976) he found at the used-book store two blocks down he usually frequents when he's not particularly busy with their kids. Their kids, meanwhile, are all in school, except for their eldest daughter, who's serving as an assistant to the viceroy of the Asunaro Special Administrative Territories (ASAT for short) in the territorial capital of Yumiko, and is at this moment doing the same thing her mother is doing (only that she tends to drink more and eat less).

Specifically: after suffering a grievous fall down four stories followed by exposure to a bitterly cold rain and spiteful wind for nearly twelve hours ten months ago, the Suzumikami Watanabe Kiako lies in her bed at the local hospital in the recently de jure regional capital of Miyasu, comatose. There is no longer fear that she will die as a result of her injuries and exposure, but there is trepidation over who succeeds her (being the last living direct descendant of the first Suzumikami), given her sexual inclinations and marital status. (The document the Yakumokami is eyeing is a proposal submitted to her by a representative of the elected participants of the last Taiyou [a sort of parliament] in 2014 regarding the succession, in the event of the any of the kami dying without issue.)

The Kingdom of Jeltronia is under a monarchical system of government, largely preserved since the country's founding. The current monarch is His Majesty, Jotham II.

At the moment, he is getting ready for the Halloween event in Stephen Palace.

The former royal family of China, the Aisingoro (Manchu) clan, lives in the north of China in a vacation palace. During the revolution, the terms of Abdication Agreement stated:

The current emperor for himself and his heirs and successors shall, after their abdication, retain their personal properties, real and movable.
The current emperor and his heirs and successors shall receive an annuity of 4,000,000— taels (=37.429g) of silver.
The current emperor and his heirs and successors shall be deemed a visiting head of state if they visit other parts of China.

As the Ch'ing emperor retained quite a massive amount of real property across China, being the second largest land owner after the central government, it entitles him to a sizeable amount of rent income not taxable.
