Help with creating a language.

Postby Gurori » Tue May 31, 2016 1:48 pm

Hello, I am requiring assistance with creating a language for my nation and a little birdie told me that this kind of thread would belong here. (Pls move to appropriate forum if not.)

If anybody could help me I'd appreciate it.

Practically everything.

I know that I'm basing it off Japanese Romanised (English alphabet) instead of Kanji.

Okay, that's a start. Do you have the pronunciation figured out? If so, the easiest steps are probably designing articles and pronouns.
Articles:
A/an and the. Also note, for the is it different between singular and plural? And do you have a word for if you wouldn't always use an article in English, such as French du?
Pronouns that you might have words for:
I, you(singular), he, she, it, we, you (plural), they
possessives (my, your, his, her, etc.)
reflexives (myself, yourself, himself, etc.)
intensifiers (The king himself went to the store, I myself will help you finish your language)
You might also want to decide to what extent you will have declension and conjugation.
Latin has a ton of both.
English has very little declension and conjugation.
Norwegian (and the other Scandinavian languages) has extremely little conjugation (Jeg er, du er, han er, hun er, det er, vi er, dere er, de er)
