This would be the GAU-5A rip off of the earliest version of the Ag 5 (Ak-5), before it was modified fully into the Ag 5 I have now.

The full sized brother looks a little odd as well. im working on a way to fix that up a bit.

I like it, however, two major suggestions are needed.

The rear and front sights, in that order, are at an incline. It should be at a slight decline.

I suggest changing out the H&K magazine for something else.

A third suggestion, not that important, would be a cheek riser. Something like a small hump that can wrap around the stock.

So does anyone want to sperg about Lindy's videos? I watched the first one and forgot everything, and I stopped watching the second right after he called everyone who disagreed with him German fanboys.

Hell no that's ugly. The only good thing I'll say about the BAR is it's one of the sexiest guns ever made, so stick with the M1918.

e: Though as dumb as the "kill/death ratio" comment is, it's the closest to correct of all of those regurgitated half-truths. Germany lost for want of steel, as Germany is wont to do. Of course, picking a fight with the economically developed powers in the world (Britain and America) tends to do that, especially when you have much less "reserve" industry to marshal compared to a liberal democracy.

Lindybeige is more or less correct but he fails to articulate the actual reasons because he's backed himself into the corner of comparing "equipment" rather than a more holistic view. I don't doubt he understands the importance of the latter, but since the focus of the video was on dispelling the myth of the Wehraboo by directly comparing equipment, he really rattled a bit of a hornet's nest.

LSWs are better than LMGs for sections is really what it boils down to, and RPK/Bren/IAR/SAW > MG42/MAG. Less weight, comparable firepower, more ammunition. You can bring a MAG or something in the APC if you really want to, which is what actual armies do, but using it instead of a SAW or Bren-type LSW which generally nets you twice as many machine guns (two vs. one) and more machine guns is always better.

The Germans' use of a single MG3 in their Panzergrenadier sections shows the futility of shoehorning a large, heavy CSW into the role of an automatic rifle. Should have done what the Heer Jaegers did, modelling the US Army, and used MG4 in two balanced teams instead. It may eventually happen yet, and then Germany too can embrace the light of post-Vietnam tactics involving more than one machine gun.

M1918 is also heavier, which is less conducive to use as a service rifle.

Colt Monitor is still heavy, but it's less heavy. Also has a compensator and a pistol grip going for it.

BAR is a terrible machine gun.
