Prime Minister Trapped By Regional Conundrum?!

Prime Minister Zaibana Larenska is accused by the people and parliament to have turned away opportunities to intensively review and determine initiative on foreign issues. It is clear that she has passed the point of no return and must immediately solve this problem on this posture. The Prime Minister has unintentionally made her vulnerability an open door for the Official Opposition to capitalize on. So far the Official Opposition Leader Arata K. Henders motioned to parliament for a vote of no confidence against the governing coalition.

FREE ROYAL CITY OF ERDLAMN, THE KINGDOM OF DESLA-AHNERANIA - His Majesty King Hyalo XIII and Her Majesty Queen Consort Anelida will celebrate 176th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Kingdom of Desla-Ahnerania at Confederation Square in the Parliamentary Complex Compound. Their Majesties traversed in an open carriage through nearly two million people who came from far and wide across the Kingdom. Schools, courthouses, and several businesses in the national capital closed and suspended their activities to honour the Kingdom's anniversary as one united kingdom.

His Majesty the King not only went to the festivities and conducted official engagements but made time to visit His Late Majesty King Hyalo XI and Her Late Highness Princess Consort Marianne in Eternal Gardens, Queen's Green. The King and Queen, after their short visit to their former Sovereign and Mother, went back to the Royal Palace to complete the Kingdom's anniversary celebrations as they hold a public audience to the nearly five hundred thousand people standing before the Palace facade, looking up to see His Majesty and Her Majesty on the balcony. It has only been a year after Hyalo XI and Marianne passed away in a car accident on their way home from the Official Opening of Parliament. The tragedy also took away the lives of Archduke Alefryn of Beznendar who served as the King's adviser on parliamentary affairs for twenty-two years, Privy Council Chairwoman Countess Danar of Apenmar, and three members of the Royal Household which composed of a driver, a bodyguard, and a doctor who was tasked to attend to the general anxiety disorder of His Late Majesty.

The Kingdom mourned for a year. And within that year, Crown Prince Albren-Hyalo, who was proclaimed Hyalo XII, abdicated his kingship renouncing the claims of his kin and disappeared from the public. Nobody, including the Royal Family as it seemed, knew the reason of the Crown Prince's escape. His Highness was groomed for 17 years to be ready for the kingship and has developed and maintained a healthy public image as a progressive, liberal idealist.

Despite the events that shook the Monarchy down to its knees last year, the Royals kept calm and steadied on as their predecessors have done during the early days of civilization.

The first true king of Desland and Ahnerania only came after the 1836 Unification Revolution when the nobles and merchant elites of Desland and Ahnerania, roused by the fervent feelings of Desla-Ahneranian pan-nationalism, revolted and forced out the unpopular ruling regimes to make way for a united kingdom. Before the Revolution, Desland and Ahnerania were two different countries but both share the same form of government: a parliamentary republic. The Republics did not had a head of state and lacked a unifying figure, a person who people could stand behind and invest their trust on, somebody that would embody Desland or Ahnerania. This opinion was ignored by the parliaments respectively. Their decision to ignore and unanimously consider the opinion as a dilemma solely important to the "whispers of common folk" was their biggest mistake yet. A year later, a figurehead was placed into power and Desland and Ahnerania became one as the "Kingdom of Desla-Ahnerania" under the Treaty of Confederation (1836). This figurehead installed was the one the peoples of Desland and Ahnerania once knew as "Crown Prince Hyalo of the Blood Erdlamn." He has had become King Hyalo, the First of His Name, of Desla-Ahnerania. The Kingdom was designed as a constitutional monarchy whereas the monarch held considerable authority. Parliamentary supremacy was left powerful still. King Hyalo I exercised authority over diplomacy and national dilemmas deemed critical by his ministers for his attention. Notably the Constitutional Crisis of 1844 when the general elections were put to an end when Hyalo I withdrew the royal writs that permitted the elections because of the Supreme Court of Desla-Ahnerania's accusations of fraud and manipulative machine politics against the Royal Commission on Elections. Hyalo I died at the age 78 in 1851.

He was succeeded by King Hyalo II who died a year later after being shot by Deslan radicals. King Hyalo III, Hyalo II's younger brother and heir presumptive during his reign, he promoted the autonomy of parliament from the Crown's power and has emphasized its grace by passing the monarch's grasp on determining domestic policy and geopolitics to the head of his government, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Xerxio Elali, at the time. The Liberal Party of Desland and Ahnerania dominated parliament throughout Hyalo III's reign and even after his death in 1879, under the reign of Hyalo IV who only sat on the throne for a decade after dying due to complications caused by his condition of hemophilia. King Hyalo IV was the youngest king to have served the Kingdom who started his reign at the age 14. The Crown and Sceptre was passed to the King's only son, Hyalo V, who also died of hemophilia after six years. These times were known as the "Annis Decades" or the "Horrible Decades" which spanned from Hyalo IV to King Hyalo VII, who did not die from hemophilia but was involved in alleged homosexual relations.

Hyalo VI reigned from 1895 to 1901 when he died of pulmonary tuberculosis. His reign saw the resurgence of republicanism in the Kingdom and the rise of socialism and ultranationalism that dramatically changed the Kingdom's political landscape. After nearly five decades of Liberal rule in the House of Representatives, following nearly fifty years of political reform powered by the Liberals that led to universal suffrage, the end of the House of Lords and the establishment of an elected upper house, proportional representation in the lower house of parliament, freedom of speech, freedom of organization, and the freedom of forming trade unions, the voter's ideologies shifted in favour of the Conservative and Reactionary Coalition who have narrowly defended Desla-Aneranian democracy in the early and mid-twentieth century. Even if Hyalo reigned only for six years, he was celebrated as the "Hyalo the Great" and his time as sovereign was referred to as the "Golden Age of Desla-Ahnerania" in honour of the changes that has been achieved and then greatly felt after a century of Liberal reform.

Hyalo VII ascended to sit on the throne for 30 years and was not known for anything great or significant such as change, although he has faithfully followed his ancestor Hyalo III's disposition on parliament and has taught his son, Prince Bernan-Hyalo, of the ideals of liberty. Prince Bernan was never destined to be king if it was not for the abdication of his elder brother, Crown Prince Adreal. In 1931, immediately a month after Bernan's coronation as Hyalo VIII, he issued a royal proclamation that relinquished all constitutional privileges and prerogatives of the monarch. Hyalo then called for a constitutional convention for a codified constitution since the existing constitution at the time consisted of various parliamentary acts and royal proclamations that denoted and defined the country as a polity. Hyalo participated in the Constitutional Convention of 1932 as an observer and in two years the Constitution of Desla-Ahnerania was made.

Hyalo IX became king in 1956, inheriting a politically free and economically stable Desla-Ahnerania. So politically free that parliament was virtually fragmented into different ideologies and varying factions. The Liberal Party splits into two different parties: the Progressive Party of Desla-Ahnerania which composes of loyal, royalist liberals and the Republican Party of Desla-Ahnerania which is made up of liberals sympathetic to the republican movement. The Ultranationalists and Reactionaries formed a coalition, the Communists and Socialists as well. The Conservatives turned into an insignificant bloc. Hyalo, worried about Ultranationalist or Communist victory in the lower house, advised Liberal Prime Minister Jessie Toredlo to compromise with the Republican Party and the Socialist Desland And Ahnerania People's Party into a coalition in order to secure another five years and to do further political and, for the first time in half a century, social reform to discourage voters from Ultranationalist and Communist initiatives. Liberals formed a coalition with the republicans and, surprisingly, the socialists. And in 1961, they secured another mandate.

Intensive political and social reform was slow at first as the 1960s came to pass, and the Ultranationalists and Communists were gaining ground. However, the Youth's Social Movement, which composed of the Communists' activists, violently occupied the grounds of Government House, effectively keeping out Jessie Toredlo's ministry and other officers of state for a week and a half. Their attack on the security and staff of the House were sensationalized and broadcasted and the people's positive view on Communism gradually fell. A significant proportion of seats were lost in parliament by the Communists, taken by socialist MPs who promised alternatives to what Communists promised. By 1970, the Communist Party of Desla-Ahnerania held only five percent of parliament. Ultranationalists still held twenty-four percent of parliamentary seats and a coalition with any party would lead them to victory in the next general election in 1976. Hyalo advised new Liberal standard bearer Prime Minister Henrik Elgen to "keep an eye" on the Ultranationalists who may be capable of an incident greater than any other such as that back in 1965 when communist activists occupied Government House.

Hyalo IX was right of his suspicions on the Ultranationalists though he never lived long enough to see their downfall. On January 23, 1974 Hyalo was shot three times directly on the head, his heart, and stomach in a procession to the Official Opening of Parliament from the Royal Palace to the Old Confederation Building. The shooter revealed himself as a sympathizer to the Ultranationalist cause and this has led to the loss of significance the ultranationalists once held.

Hyalo X was next in line and took control of the monarchy at the age of 24. He was very much opposed to his father's indirect influence on his ministries and parliament, claiming his actions was unconstitutional. Now that he is king, he chose to advise Prime Minister Henrik to put forward a question on the authority of the Crown into debate. Hyalo was unaware of the reverence that most parliamentarians express for the monarchy, believing that Hyalo IX saved Desla-Ahneranian democracy and so the debate ended status quo. From this point on, Hyalo X refused to express himself personally on politics and has instead made himself bipartisan in audiences with the Prime Minister or to any of his ministers.

In 1989, Hyalo X mysteriously abdicated in favour of his sister Queen Allaia, who reigned for a decade of silence from the monarchy before dying of stroke and was succeeded by Hyalo XI in 1999. Two centuries has passed and a new millennium was then about to come. There was uncertainty on the monarchy's future as kings and a queen have proven; an uncertainty that has always existed and has kept the monarchy stronger than ever, as proven back in 2014.

Trouble In The Free State Of Terolk

FREE STATE OF TEROLK, THE KINGDOM OF DESLA-AHNERANIA - It has been a decade since the Late King Hyalo XII granted self-governance to the people of Terolk, creating the Free State of Terolk. With that Terolk was established a unitary constitutional ceremonial monarchy according to the Westminster model whereas the Head of State, in this case the Sovereign of Terolk and Desla-Ahnerania in the person of the Viceroy of Terolk, holds legal constitutional holder of executive power but is exercised by the Head of Government, the First Minister of Terolk. The Parliament of Desla-Ahnerania is supreme and the Sovereign is endowed to follow the constitution and the people's will through parliamentary supremacy, and so does in the People's Assembly of Terolk and the Viceregal Council that makes up the Parliament of Terolk.

Everything after December 20, 2005 was predicted to end all religious and political conflicts between then members of the provincial assembly and council, including the general public. "The Royal Proclamation To Establish The Free State Of Terolk" 10 years ago was not the solution.

The religious divide in the then Province of Terolk between Roman Catholics and Protestants was kept in peace and order until Terolk ceased to be a province of Desla-Ahnerania. Nationalism was not a problem; it was what came with it: religion. For more than 200 years Terolk was within the national patrimony of Desla-Ahnerania and has always been the melting pot of Christianity in the Nation though, following the promulgation of the Constitution of 1945 that upholds religious freedom and harmony relinquished the status of state religion the Roman Catholic Church held for a century at the time in order to pacify Protestants and other religions in Terolk. Many believed religious plurality among the Terolkians besides the entire country would develop after the end of the 20th Century. The 21st Century came and religion remained a reason for internal hostility in Terolk.

Regardless of the benevolence of Desla-Ahneranian monarchs towards the Terolkians and the fair disposition of parliament as it does to other national subdivisions after all that has been done for change, Protestants could simply not accept to continue living under the sovereignty of Desla-Ahnerania. They saw the Royal Proclamation of 2005 a weakness and window of opportunity for freedom.

The Protestant Action Front party (P.A.F.) are fiercely devoted for the attainment of Terolkian sovereignty, seeking to free their people from "Desla-Ahneranian rule" democratically. There were two referendums under two P.A.F. mandates and all failed because of narrow majorities. A lot of Terolkians desire independence for the sake of their beliefs while a lot of Terolkians want to remain status quo for the sake of their principles rather than faith.

It is a baffle for political analysts to observe such zealotry in these days of great technological and cultural progress. The ideal of liberty, equality, and fraternity does not ring out in the countryside of Terolk. National curriculum on education, centred on social sciences, has been moulded over and over and over and over since the late 1950s to educate generations of tomorrow about the fruits of liberal and progressive ideals. Homosexual marriages came in 1961, euthanasia was legalized in 1966, and capital punishment was abolished under the Revised Penal Code of 1988. And yet religion for Terolkian folk was the source of distinguishing differences and qualities in character. 24 out 31 schools in Terolk are held and/sponsored either the Catholic Church or the protestant faiths. Press freedom in Terolk was censored on anything regarding religion by the then provincial government and has continued under the new political order to avoid development to escalation of religious animosity.

Before December 20, 2005 political dilemma shared the same stage religion always had. Reforms on the provincial government unit and autonomy were demanded from the federal government. Independence never came into question in the then Provincial Assembly of Terolk. It was on 20th of December 2005 when the chance for independence was completely realized as soon as the Royal Proclamation of 2005 came to take effect. In response to this realization, the militant activists of the Terolkian Protestants' Party (T.T.P.) stroked fear into the populace. The TTP from that point in time attacked the movements and activities of the Catholic Terolk Traditionalist Party. (C.T.T.P.)

The Party for Terolkian Recognition (P.T.R) for a century and a half fought against violence and bloodshed with pen and paper, standing in solidarity with the Liberal Party. They sought for the right to self-governance for their people and it was won not needing arms or ordnance. Now they seek to end the terror that plagued their people since Christianity came to enlighten the once pagan Terolkian homeland.

The situation in Terolkian does not fare well to the intentions of prominent factions led by His Excellency the Viceroy of Terolk the 22nd Viscount of Pontautar William Harthen, the Right Honourable First Minister Sean Kagan, P.T.R. leader the Honourable Richard Adam MPA, and P.A.F. leader Nicky Flogan MPA. An anonymous political analyst from the University of Desla-Ahnerania, Terolk Campus, Political Science, predicts based on the circumstances in the Terolkian Free State that civil unrest is now imminent if His Majesty's Terolkian Government does not answer the issues driving Terolk apart.

Protests erupt in Whitesbridge!

Shock, horror and chaos reigned tonight in the capital city of Whitesbridge as Orthodox Action Front supporters tore through Dormer Lane and into Hyalo XIII Square, before defacing the statues of Desla-Ahneranian kings and ripping down Desla-Ahnerania Flags and tossing them onto the floor and stamping on them before setting them alight and hurling them at any Catholics that happened to be walking by. The flags were replaced with the Red Hand Flag of a new, radical party, the, Orthodox Action Front Party . The scenes seen here tonight are a dramatic shift from those seen only a 10 years earlier at the announcement of The Royal Proclamation To Establish The Free State Of Terolk, with Desla-Ahneranian songs being sung and all round celebrations took up the square that the violent protesters now occupied.

We asked a protester why they were rioting, and he replied "Because we're sick and tired of being run by a foreign nation and King, who hasn't even visited one of the most crucial parts of his realm, and the fact that the needs of Terolkians and the native Orthodox people, who have bled for that country, are repeatedly ignored by the Foreign Occupier (Desla-Ahnerania) in favour of those that are Catholic. Poverty and unemployment are rampant here, yet I'm yet to see ANY sign of a stimulus or recovery package! When The Royal Proclamation To Establish The Free State Of Terolk was first announced, we thought it would finally allow use to be a free nation, but we were lied to by the pig Catholic government, who have continually gone against our beliefs by attempting to educate our children with lies, such as homosexuals being allowed to marry, in defiance of God, and euthanasia being a good idea! They are attempting to remove our culture and beliefs by imposing theirs upon us! This protest is our way of saying enough is enough!" Shortly after the interview ended, we spotted him again lobbing a petrol bomb at police Constables. The protests soon moved from the City Centre and into predominately Catholic residential areas, with members of the protests hurling rocks at homes and civilians whilst sing sectarian songs. It was also reported that a Catholic church was later firebomed.

The riots carried on into the night, with no sign of stopping from the rioters, you could clearly see the tiredness of the Whitesbridge Constabulary setting in. In the areas that the rioters had gone through, you could see that shops or houses that were seen with the Delsa-Ahnerania flag were damaged with broken windows and blast marks from fireworks launched. Mickey Free, leader of the Terolkian Orthodox' Party, has warned the Deaslan government that failure to act on the demands of the Orthodox population, risks Terolk spiraling downwards into a hotspot for sectarian violence.

Zhenyan Assembly begins 94th session

STOLITSA, ZHENYA- The Zhenyan Assembly, the elected legislature of Zhenya, began its annual proceedings today. The 2016 session of the Assembly is the 94th since the body was established in 1922. As is traditional, there was considerable ceremony surrounding the opening of the Assembly, including fanfare and a speech from His Imperial Majesty.

Early this morning, Tsar Alexander V left the Imperial Palace on horseback surrounded by a squadron of cavalry from the Imperial Guard. Soldiers lined the Tsar's route as he rode to the Assembly Building. The gates parted to let him through, the Zhenyan flag was lowered and the Imperial standard was raised, and there was a sudden blast of trumpets. When the Tsar dismounted, equerries escorted him into the building. Meanwhile, a full regiment of the Imperial Guard lined up in parade formation outside of the Assembly Building and police cordoned off the gates. Inside, the Imperial State Crown was placed on the Tsar's head and he was outfitted in his robes; members of the State Privy Council arrived to line up behind His Imperial Majesty, while soldiers with ceremonial pikes lined up behind the Councilors. The procession then moved into the Assembly Chamber, where the Tsar sat on his throne, surrounded by the soldiery. The Councilors lined up beside the throne, four on each side.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, George Dimitrovich, and the rest of the Imperial Cabinet were seated in an adjoining room. When the Tsar had seated himself, they walked into the Chamber, bowed, and then took seats in the front rows. After the Cabinet came the entire Zhenyan Assembly, all 750 members of it. In a laborious one-hour process, each one bowed to the Tsar and took a seat, organized by political party. Another blast of trumpets sounded, and the doors to the Chamber were closed, officially beginning its 94th session.

Tsar Alexander began with a speech, in which he offered his customary wishes for productivity and efficiency in the Assembly. He then blessed the legislature, stood up, and left the Chamber; escorted by the Imperial Guard, he once again mounted his horse and rode back in the direction of the Imperial Palace. When the Tsar had left the hall, Prime Minister Dimitrovich stood up before his colleagues and outlined the legislative goals of the current session. After thirty minutes, the Prime Minister bowed and left the Chamber, followed by the rest of the Imperial Cabinet. Now, the Head of the Zhenyan Assembly, Anatoly Fyodorovich, rose from his seat and summoned for the Staff of State. Making his way to the center of the hall, he slammed it onto the ground, raised it, and took his seat again. Following this, a third session of fanfare began, the members of the Assembly filed out of the room, to begin their legislative work tomorrow.

Bomb detonates in Whitesbridge!

In what is usually a day reserved for joy, jubilation and all round happiness, the usual exclamations of joy where instead replaced by screams of horror. Around 3:35pm, a bomb blast ripped through Hyalo's Road in Whitesbridge as the annual Whitesbridge Constabulary Parade ventured through its traditional path passed Hyalo's Road up to the St Kostka's Cathedral. However, it was prevented from doing so by the explosion of a car based bomb, killing an estimated 23 people and leaving a further 121 people injured from the blasts. Almost immediately after reports of the bombing came flooding in, responsibility was claimed by the hard-line Protestant, Independence Minded 'Terolkian Independence Army'. It's justification for the bombing was;

'For the continued occupation of Terolk by a foreign force. The suppression of native Protestant cultures. The forced teachings that go against what Terolk stands for. The Terolkian Independence Army will not cease in its operations until the Taig scum and the Desla-Ahnerania pigs have left this country alone and granted us our independence.

Because of the scale, unexpectedness of the attack and the unanticipated wounds it dealt out, many of the victims have had to be transported to Desla-Ahneranian hospitals, where more appropriate intensive care facilities are located. The Oireachtas of Terolk have passed an act requesting military and political assistance from Desla-Ahnerania following the recent riots and bombing, claiming;

'The situation is far too dangerous, unpredictable and divisive for the Oireachtas to handle without bias, with loyalties from the Membership of the Oireachtas being too risky for it to act without bias.

UPDATE:

Due to the recent and severe confrontations between Catholic and Orthodox communities, many have begun to build makeshift barriers to prevent Constables or the opposite faith with their marked territory. Along with this, there has been a worryingly large increase in 'protection groups" that are designed to fight back against Orthodox/Catholic intruders. A number of churches have also been burnt down, with bodies of the priests within them dumped outside the gates of its respective community. It has been a long time since strife similar to this has happened in Terolk, and never before has barbarity and hate been seen with the nations' borders.

Confederation Guard Deployed To Terolk

FREE STATE OF TEROLK, THE KINGDOM OF DESLA-AHNERANIA - Earlier on Tuesday this week, during the annual Whitesbridge Constabulary Parade that honours three centuries of peace, unity, equality, and justice in the streets of the Terolkian capital and the rest of Terolk ended in flames and vain suffering, death. The parade as it went from Hyalo's Road to the Cathedral of Saint Kostka was stopped literally dead in its track as a bomb denoted inside a car. 23 people are dead and 121 were injured. The Terolkian Independence Army or "TIA" claimed to be the ones who planted the bomb for the cause of Terolkian independence. They said "For the continued occupation of Terolk by a foreign force. The suppression of native Protestant cultures. The forced teachings that go against what Terolk stands for. The Terolkian Independence Army will not cease in its operations until the Taig scum and the Desla-Ahnerania(n) pigs have left this country alone and granted us our independence."

The 121 wounded could not all be treated in Terolk because of the lack of intensive care technology in hospitals and so many were driven out to be moved into hospitals in the provinces of New Terolk and Southwest Quinetalia, and the Principality of Quinetalia, Viscounty of Pontautar, and the Marquisat of Welerda.

Hours after the Whitesbridge Constabulary Parade Bombing Christian communities of Catholics and Protestants begun to attack each other following the tragedy that fell in a day when celebration was to be spread across the city and the rest of the country. There were reports of "barriers" between said communities for "protection" against differing Christian denomination. Several churches were burned to the ground and parish priests were killed before being dumped outside their parish or community.

The Constabulary Parade Bombing and the Dawn Massacre has grasped the attention of the entire nation. Desla-Ahneranians are shocked in disbelief that this brutality, this violation of humanity, this degradation of society could happen in a nation like ours.

The Parliament of Terolk, Oireachtas, without the person of the Right Honourable First Minister Sean Kagan, has passed statute obliging the Parliament of Desla-Ahnerania under the Royal Proclamation of 2005 and the Constitution of Desla-Ahnerania to immediately create policies to assist the Terolkian Free State on restoring national integrity and harmony and to guide His Majesty's Government in Terolk and the rest of their parliament. Prime Minister Welam Riters commented on the Terolkian legislature's so-called "premature ejaculation" as termed by Channel Neo 5 "Good Morning!" earlier this morning, the Prime Minister said in a press conference held at the Palace of Legislative Houses "while the Terolkian legislature stated in a press conference at the State Legislature Building at Whitesbridge that 'the situation is far too dangerous, unpredictable and divisive for the Oireachtas to handle without bias, with loyalties from the Membership of the Oireachtas being too risky for it to act without bias' their constituents are left without answers or plans to stop this 'T.I.A.' and these 'Christian vigilantes.' I respect the sovereignty of Terolk, my government - my coalition supports and stands for Terolkian sovereignty."

The Prime Minister continued to speak "then provincial governor and the first man to hold office of Terolkian head of government, John Carlagan, was a member of the Liberal Party which I lead now. He was well-acquainted with my predecessor and mentor, Prime Minister the Most Honourable Count Brechtar Wilksom of Trallache. The two of them authored the very proclamation that established the free state of Terolkians to which His Late Majesty (Hyalo XII) have cherished in his last eight years of living. We cannot deny the Terolkians their prerogative. We can only deploy the Confederation Guard to help the National Constabulary in Terolk to ensure that their national integrity is kept at least. The Viceroy, His Excellency the Viscount of Pontautar, will be the legal channel of government guidance in Terolk. We cannot turn our backs from our own people even if they no longer have our names as theirs. The spirit of this confederation lives on."

5,000 Confederation Guardsmen were sent to Terolk, a thousand was moved further within the heart of the country, Whitesbridge. The rest are appropriated elsewhere. The Ministry Plenipotentiary and Extraordinaire of Desla-Ahnerania to Terolk announced that Terolkian law enforcement will hold ultimate authority over the visiting forces, though law enforcement authority and the Desla-Ahneranian military command will work in conjunction together in putting a stop to this fight of spirituality and radical nationalism. The Confederation Guardsmen in Terolk will function and perform in accordance with the country's laws.

Protection Groups vow to fight the Confederation

In the most recent turn of events in Terolk, the announcement of protection group was among the most noticeable of events to happen. And now, it seems they plan to take the law enforcement into their own hands. The largest group, 'Callan District Proddy Diehards', have announced that they will fight against the recent deployment of the Confederation Guard, considering it an attempted reconquest of Terolk under the guise of peacekeeping. It encourages all other Orthodox and Protestant Protection Groups to join their fight against the invaders and to not stop until full independence for Terolk is achieved.

Following the announcements, Terolk Daily can reveal that a number of Constabulary armouries have seen their weapon stocks slowly decrease due to raiding and the secretive handout of weapons to the communities, always depending on which Constable was handing out the weaponry. Due to this, it has become significantly more difficult to enforce the Law within the gated communities, due to the possibility of gunfire and reprisal attacks from the groups, should their operations be disrupted. Political Analysts have predicted that groups that share the same religion will join together to prevent inter-fighting between the muiltiple groups.

In response to the response to the announcement made by the CDPD, majority Catholic groups have declared that they will also combat the reattempt at imperialism by Desla-Ahnerania, however they will limit the killing to situations that limit it, such as the imprisonment of its leaders or if its operations are threatened by Confederation intrusion.

New Industrial Park opens in Dovol'no Gorod

DOVOL'NO GOROD, ZHENYA- The Dovol'no Gorod Industrial Committee's vote, 9-3, to build a new commercial complex in the city back in October of 2014 finally bore its fruit today as the new Prodvizheniye Industrial Park opened for lease. The Mayor of Dovol'no Gorod, Filip Mikhailov, proudly cut the red ribbon, accompanied with applause from the crowd. A series of brightly-lit storefronts, brand-new and clean factories, and an office building comprise the Industrial Park, which, in a public statement, City Hall announced is open for companies to rent. Five different corporations and city-sponsored companies are already vying for space within the complex, one of the first in a traditionally agriculture-oriented location.

The building of the Prodvizheniye Industrial Park was accompanied by massive constructions and renovation across Dovol'no Gorod. A string of new high-rises and fancy hotels have been built across the city, their neon lights illuminating a sky that was previously dark and starry. A new thoroughfare was also built, traversing Dovol'no Gorod down the middle. A government initiative of summer 2015, which provided a future annual income to farmers if they would turn over their land to construction projects, allowed these remarkable changes to take place. Much of the praise has gone to Mayor Mikhailov, who, along with the Industrial Committee, oversaw the development and worked hard in conjunction with the Imperial government to ensure that it met national zoning and building codes. In January of 2016, he received a cash prize for his efforts, with a ribbon signed by the Minister for Domestic Affairs, Ioann Abramovich, himself.

The Ministry of Industrial Development (a sub-department of the Ministry of Domestic Affairs) has stated that a wave of new projects will be built across Zhenya in 2016 and onwards towards 2020. In a public statement, the Minister of Industrial Development elaborated on these plans:

"It is our hope that these new industrial parks, commercial complexes, and offices will help to revitalize the Zhenyan economy and bring more commerce to our great nation. Areas like Prodvizheniye will spring up across Zhenya, leading companies to compete for rental space and sending a considerable flow of money to the government. These developments will help, not harm, the Zhenyan people, and it is our sincere wish that the public embrace them with open arms as part of the new Zhenya of the 21st century.

Prodvizheniye is not the only new industrial development planned by the Imperial Government. The great city of Dovol'no Gorod will soon be home to not only the complex opened today, but also the Yarkost Commercial Venue, a shopping center that started construction in November 2015. The city of Imperskiy Gorod will be another hotspot of construction, with three new large factories planned for 2016 and 2017. In 2018, the government hopes to supervise the construction of the Izvestnyak Building, a 60-story tower planned to accommodate offices, in Stolitsa. As the clock ticks down towards 2020, Zhenya will undoubtedly grow to become a worldwide commercial and industrial hotspot. In a video that is quickly circulating the internet, a grainy video shows a group of six men, five of which are armed. It shows a man sitting on a table, decorated with the Terolk Banner, holding a piece of paper, which holds the contents of what is about to be said. His speech has been written down so that those who have not seen the video may read it, although it's contents may be found disturbing:

We, the Terolkian Independence Army, have viewed the recent deployment of Confederation Guardsmen as a gross violation of the 2005 Royal Proclamation, interfering in our national matters on the begging of a Parliament that fails to properly represent its people. It is with this in mind that the High Army Council have unanimously agreed to fight any Confederation Guardsmen that we see, be they on-duty or off. Any Guardsmen taking part in the Occupation will pay with their blood. Any Catholic aiding the Occupation will pay with their blood.Anyone attempting to subvert the plans of the T.I.A will pay with their blood. We will not allow for our people to owned and our land occupied any further by the Desla-Ahneranian pigs, and if the price for that freedom is to be paid with blood, then let Desla-Ahneranian be drowned in ours

Almost to align perfectly with the video being released, reports began to surface of a Confederation Guardsman, Private Stanford Sertlap, having disappeared while off-duty. He left the barracks with a number of comrades, before becoming separated. A few hours later, he failed to return to the barracks and was reported missing. Not long after the video was released, a dark grey pick-up truck came to a screeching halt outside of the Confederation Guards Barracks, dumping a body, covered in blood stained blankets, from its trunk before speeding off. After escorting the body inside, it was revealed to be the body of the missing Guardsman, Stanford Sertlap. From reports taken from the body, he was assaultedand partially hung, before being lowered and shot through the cheek, with the bullet exiting through the top of his skull, killing him instantly. A note was crumpled in the body's hand reading 'CONFED-GUARD OUT!'.

The First Minister greeted the royal couple with a neck bow while his wife, Amela H. Kagan, did a curtsy. The Viceroy of Terolk His Excellency the Viscount of Pontautar William Harthen was not present because of his venture in the mainland, settling state and economic affairs in his viscounty in Pontautar.

The Party for Terolkian Recognition Leader Richard Adam was there and displayed a respectful neck bow to the Sovereign and Consort. The Protestant Action Front Party Leader Nicky Flogan was invited to the homecoming ceremony of the King and Queen of Terolk but he never came. Sources in the Terolkian media reported that the P.A.F. leader refused the invitation as a protest against Desla-Ahneranian suzerainty over Terolk. Government ministers and other officials also welcomed the royal couple, ranging from the national to a local level. Notably the Mayor of Whitesbridge, His Honour Patrick Hale, Administrator of the Region of Greater Terolk Calvin Flowers, Minister of Home Affairs Aimee Parry, Minister of Defence Gale Rutledge, and Chancellor Jordan Robles.

Their Majesties were driven on the Official State Car in a procession for Vilsrath Hall instead of the traditional Faerbey Carriage which was used by the last five Terolkian sovereigns: Hyalo XII, Hyalo XI, Queen Allaia, Hyalo X, and Hyalo IX. They used the Official State Car out of concern for their safety, the memories of the Whitesbridge Constabulary Parade Bombing very fresh since it occurred not too long ago. They spent the rest of the day in Vilsrath Hall to rest to regain energy for their visit that will last a week.

At Sunday midday, the King and Queen left Vilsrath Hall for another procession, this time to be at Hyalo Square. Despite construction workers crawling all over the place, Their Majesties carried on and went in the square where a gathering of a nearly a hundred thousand people stood. They praised the efforts of the city government in restoring the former glory and beauty of Hyalo Square which was in a much horrible state 16 days ago, His Majesty's speech emphasized on the square's restoration effort and the ongoing civil, nationalist, and religious unrest in Terolk. Kind and compassionate it may be, half of the Terolkians present in the square jeered and booed at the King. King Hyalo continued and ended his speech without stopping.

Under the afternoon sun, they toured the city of Whitesbridge. They visited the National Museum of Terolk, the Ministry Building of Terolk, the National Theatre of Terolk, the Rheizell Trade Center, and Slidare University. Along the way, they stopped at several local businesses such as restaurants, malts, flower shops, and a mall. Market Street, a roadway that serves as the centre of retail businesses in Whitesbridge, was renamed Queen Anelida Street in her honour and a reminder of her visit with His Majesty the King.

By night time, the King and Queen had a state dinner arranged by First Minister Kagan along with His Desla-Ahneranian Majesty's Government in Terolk, the dinner featured dignitaries around Terolk, whether it were those of the arts, business, or the aristocracy. Here the King reiterated his speech in Hyalo Square to the Terolkian government before celebrating Terolkian autonomy within Desla-Ahnerania and how it survived over the years since the Royal Proclamation of 2005.

Today, the King and Queen are off to the outlying territory of Terolk to see the countryside and other population centers.

National Consultative Assembly proposes Revamp of 1999 Constitution: El Presidente forced to step down

KALMIRA, (22/2/16) - The National Consultative assembly at its first general session in 2016 proposes a total revamp of the 1999 Constitution, mainly to solve the pressing issue of prolonged periods in government run by numerous officials since the downfall of the Dictatorial Regime in 1999, one of the most prominent being President Bonar Sahid, also known as "El Presidente".

About a half of representatives from Sahid's Andenisian National Party disagreed to the proposal, stating that the current constitution is deemed "fit and beneficial for the Andenisian people". They account for one fourth of the total members of the National Consultative Assembly, and therefore the amendment shall proceed, having been approved by more than two thirds of the total number of representatives.

As acting Chairman of the Assembly, Markus Guyan stated in an interview with the Gazette, "The Assembly is here to serve the people. Hopefully the amendments will bring the democracy we promised to Andenisia."

Numerous political activists, members of the opposition, and the general populace who openly dislikes El Presidente have been reported to have mysteriously disappeared for the past couple of days after the general session at the Assembly.

Crowd gathers in anti-Occupation Rally!

Despite the recent showing of King Hyalo XII, and his speech on the situation in Terolk, it seems to have fueled calls for independence, rather than stem them. Even during his speech, pro-independence Terolkians made how they felt about the King known, openly jeering at him while he spoke. There has also been incredible backlash at the renaming of Market Street to Queen Anelida Street. Such is the resistance to the move, almost as soon as they departed the street, the word 'street' was blacked out and replaced with 'The Whore' so the street name read 'Queen Anelida, The Whore'. Furthermore, the T.I.A has announced that operations will not be temporarily suspended, as once thought, but will instead begin to target the visiting Monarch and Consort, along with any pro-unit individuals to get a very clear message across. 'Get Out'.

Along with this, the P.A.F and the T.P.P, along with elements of the C.T.T.P, staged a pro-Independence Rally outside of Viċi House, the ceremonial home of the Monarch when they visit Terolk, as they slept. The amassed crowd was so large, that it filled up several of the streets that led to Viċi House with fireworks and chants being made in an attempt to prevent the Family from sleeping and to make them known how they feel about the continued Union between Terolk and Desla-Ahnerania.

During the rally, a number of speeches were held by various members, including T.P.P Leader, Andrew Pace. His speech read;

This continued Occupation of Terolk is nothing more than 21st Century Imperialism. Our views, the views of those that want Terolk to be free after eight hundred years, are continually ignored. Every referendum is nothing more than an ego-stroking farce that the Government fails to keep fair and representative. Why was it only those aged 21 and upwards allowed to vote? Because all those under that age, Protestant and Catholic, despises the Occupation and wants us to be free, thus they were ruled out and prevented from voting. I assure you, when our election is held, you must vote for the parties that desire freedom. Then and only then, can we be free.

All the speeches carried on the same, but the shocker was the appearance of Martin Nabuls, the Deputy First Minister and deputy leader of the C.T.T.P. His speech echoed that of Andrew Pace's but he stressed that Protestants and Catholics must put aside their differences and work together to achieve independence from Desla-Ahnerania, a speech that erupted in cheers and an ovation by the massive crowd. Following his speech, all speakers at the Rally assembled on the stand and announced the dissolution of the P.A.F, the T.P.P and the resignation of 30% of the C.T.T.P.

They then announced the creation of the Libertà għall Partiti Kollha. or in English, the Freedom for All Party. The party would focus on mending the divide between Protestants and Catholics, while it's main goal was to bring complete independence for Terolk and the dissolution of the Monarchy and would replace it by a Federal Republic. The Terolk Banner was also taken down from the flag poll and replaced by the Terolk Freedom Flag, a flag made up of the colours Red, White, Yellow and Blue. The Red signifying the blood spilled by those that have fought for Terolk, the White to signify the peace that is desired, the Terolkian Cross was a traditional symbol of Terolk before it was annexed by Desla-Ahnerania, the yellow to signify the wealth of the lands they loved and the blue to signify the beautiful blue seas that surrounded the island. Because of the dissolution of the Opposition and mass resignation of the Government, a new General Election would have to be to be held soon to prevent the country falling into anarchy.

Presidential Race Kicks Off; Terolkian Unrest Worsens

Today, the first round of primary elections got off to a start. The Nationalist Party of Ventlimer, Democratic Party,and Libertarian party all officially put forth their candidates. The Candidates are as follows:

Each of these men face a 2 month run for campaigning across the 10 Districts of Ventlimer for President. The race seems to be starting off with an emphasis on Social Programs and Race issues, with 70 Percent of Ventlimians saying that they were dissatisfied by the current state of both. However, it seems too early to decide on that.

In other news, President Padeleski announced that Ventlimer would be taking a firm side of freedom in the Terolk Independence protests, but offered to mediate any Conflict that arose between Desla-Ahnerania and the seemingly armed resistance. "This resistance should be as bloodless as possible, but the Occupiers should cease operations in the free land of Terolk."

Recently, Terolk has become a violent and near lawless land as the resistance begins to become violent, with armed "Protection groups" roaming the streets, according to Terolk Daily. This comes shortly after the Terolkian Independence Army announced that they would begin a violent campaign targeting the supporters of the Occupation. This has many Ventlimains worried and place it as the Number 1 foreign relations issue this election.

With that stance has come criticism from Libertarians, especially Ventlishi. "We should not be involving ourselves in other nations foreign affairs!" He said during his announcement speech. "This is not our fight and one that will cost us money and lives if we get involved."

The Nationalists agreed with the President's statement, though. "We must stand with those who are most like us in this world as they will be our only friends. A free Terolk is not only good for the Ventlimian economy, but for the future role of our nation as well," Bruno Biagio said in a statement.

However, the situation is still developing and the President says they "Are watching it closely."

Confederation Guard and Whitesbridge Constabulary clashes with Pro-Independence Rally!

In the most recent explosive confrontation between Pro-Independence forces and Government Forces has erupted in the Square of Eternal Heroes as protesters forced their way through police lines to access the Square, a symbolic place for the Independence movement as a whole as it is dedicated to those that have fought and died for Terolk, regardless of cause or allegiance. This description has led many 'Independists', as they call themselves themselves now, to link it to Terolkian independence and nationalism as a whole as they believe that those that have fought for Terolk's freedom are also dedicated here.

As the protesters took hold of the square, Confederation Guardsmen were called into the area to force them out, however fires were lit and incendiary devices were hurled towards the armoured trucks and infantry personnel, resulting in 21 burn-related injuries and multiple others from the shards of glass. Multiple flags were strung to the Statue of Leila the Warrior, the personification of Terolk, with flags differing from the 'Freedom Flag' that republicans used to the 'Foverós Flag' which was used during the Ventlimer-Foverós Union. A new addition was also added, the 'National Flag which incorporated elements of Terolk nationalism into it, and despite the hatred of communists in the region, the 'People's Freedom Flag' was even strung up alongside it's nationalist brethren.

This unity against Desla-Ahnerania, regardless of political ideology and faith, has shown a new depth to the Terolkian character that hasn't seen the light of day for centuries. This is their ability to unite against a greater threat to their nation, be it the ancient Latornic Empire or the modern Desla-Ahnerania, the Terolkian people have always shown a shared bond between themselves in the love of their land. The protesters have also set up a camp in the Square of Eternal Heroes as it contains the Path to the Parliament Building, preventing ministers from leaving or entering, although this is a token point as the government is dissolved until a General Election is organised and run. Interestingly enough, a number of signs reading 'The State of Terolk' were burned by protesters and the burning remnants thrown at the Confed-Guard, possibly hinting that some believe Terolk a name forced upon the Peninsula when it was conquered by Desla-Ahnerania. Similar protests have spiralled out of control in other cities and towns in Terolk, hinting at a possible coordination of events.

Despite this apparent unity, a number of Catholic and Orthodox civilians have begun appearing dead or severely beaten. Why? The survivours explained they had made the mistake of walking into the opposing religion's territory and were set upon by the Local Protection Groups, leaving a number of key freedom figures to question the effectiveness of these groups if their main target is civilians that accidentally wander into the wrong neighbourhood. It has gotten to the point where the primary militan independence gorup, the Terolkian Independence Army, has declared the protection groups void and making a peaceful unity between brothers against the pig imperialist Desla-Ahnerania.

With the T.I.A making headlines since the Constabulary Bombing and Dawn Massarce, as well as several Confederation Guardsmen murdered, it has emerged that the group was planning on killing the visiting Desla-Ahneranian monarch before he landed, however decided against it so that the people could give their own response, which they have called the heckling

'An effective way of making the Monarch and his whore wife aware of how the people of the nation truly feel about them'

Despite their original reluctance to kill the Monarch upon his arrival, they have announced that they will no longer shirk away from killing the symbol of the 'imperialist pigs' that continue to occupy the nation. Further, the T.I.A has welcomed the support of Ventlimer in the name of Independence, in a statement released by the group said;

While we are extremely pleased and grateful at the decision of the Ventlimer government in supporting their Orthodox Brothers, we do not believe that a solution can be achieved without violence. The imperialist pigs of Desla-Ahnerania must learn that their ways shall not be tolerated by anyone, at the very least will not pass without the spilling of their blood. We must deter any nation from committing the crime of Imperialism against a fellow nation, that it will not be tolerated by us nor the people that live there. We will fight any imperialists and punish the supporters of such a barbaric belief'

Independence at Last!

On this day, the 3rd of March 2016, the Surban Republic, formerly Terolk, has declared its unilateral Independence from the kingdom of Desla-Ahnerania. This announcement has come at the end of months of violence, distrust and riots. The act that brought an end to the Terolkian government was a coup d'etat executed by the Terolkian National Defence Army (Now the Surban National Defence Army) with a speech delivered by Commander Kevand that declared 'Our HOME will be FREE', referencing the near 800 years of Occupation by Desla-Ahnerania.

The entire serving government of the State of Terolk has been arrested, although it's not known what has happened yet, and most Desla-Ahneranian related items have been burned in a huge bonfire in the Square of Eternal Heroes, items including Royal Warrants, flags or pictures of the monarch being thrown into the fire. The city of Whitesbridge has been renamed as Hayr and the statute of Hyalo in Hyalo's Square has been graffitied and torn down, with the Square being renamed 'St Surban's Sqaure'.

The Staff Chiefs of the Surban National Defence Army has stated that the 10,000 reserves will be called up to help fight to remnants of Desla-Ahneranian control and to prepare for a possible invasion.

President Padeleski Makes Statement Supporting The Republic of Surban

President Padeleski Delivering Statement

Early this morning, President Padeleski delivered a statement pledging Ventlimian support for the Surban Rebels without waiting for the response of Desla-Ahnerania.

"We must recognize that imperialism is an old idea from decades past and has no place in the year 2016," the Democrat President said in the statement. "We must support our friends in Surban from the response Desla-Ahnerania will have in store for them."

With this, he left the stage with many questions unanswered. However, reports have come in that large portions of the military have been put on standby and equipment is being prepped. When VPB pushed for answers from military correspondents, there was only an answer of "Preparing for the worst" without exactly saying what that worst could be.

It's been a while since an emergency session was called, especially if it involves both houses of parliament. Last time it happened was 16 years ago when then Prime Minister the Most Honourable Late 45th Countess Emry of Dasselte was dismissed from office along with the 43rd Parliament of Desla-Ahnerania as a result of nearly 14 months of wasted debates on the 1999 (which failed to pass, leading to a government shutdown for 13 months) and the 2000 allocation of the national budget. Queen Anelida had to make an unprecedented address to parliament in order to formally put the Privy Council's collective decision to dismiss the basis of government and the elected legislature into immediate effect. It ended with controversy and a spike in republican and radical reformist sentiments.

A while it has been indeed as the Prime Minister of Desla-Ahnerania, Welam Riters, called for an emergency joint-session of the Senate and the People's Assembly in the Palace of Legislative Houses on the forceful ousting of the Government of Terolk and the new Terolkian regime's hostage taking of His Majesty's Government in Terolk.

In this session King Hyalo XIII and Queen Anelida came to parliament as anticipated and addressed the Senate and the People's Assembly about the coup in Terolk and the establishment of the Federal Republic of Surban. The King stated that the coup was "one the most unspeakable acts an official organized, armed force ever done in Admayoran history." His Majesty continued that it is also one of "the most terrifying because the Terolkian National Defence Army was tasked "to defend and preserve the national integrity of Terolk" and "to protect the Constitution of Terolk." The unconstitutional actions of the TNDA sanction the Crown of Terolk to impose treason on them under the Treason Act of 2014. However, the King stated that he withheld the Crown from pronouncing penal sentences.

Yet the King announced that the "government will restore peace and order in Terolk" and has ordered to mobilize 20,000 servicemen from the reserve forces of the Confederation Guard, the 7,000 active will remain in Desla-Ahnerania. The King further stated that the Confederation Naval Guard will be deployed for the defence of Desla-Ahneranian maritime territory which composes of a lone squadron of 12 patrol boats, four mine countermeasures vessels, a replenishment oiler, and a survey vessel. The Confederation Air Guard will also deploy its only air wing that is made up of 20 planes to maintain delicate solitude in Desla-Ahneranian airspace.

The King made clear that the Free State of Terolk still exists, that it survived in Northeastern Terolk thanks to His Excellency the Viceroy of Terolk, Viscount William Harthen of Pontautar, who escaped the coup in Whitesbridge. An hour after coup conspirators came to the State Legislature Building to seized power he was immediately airlifted to Fortenberry, capital city of the Province of East Terolk. There he was greeted by the Desla-Ahneranian Terolk Command Chief of Staff Danial Weems. The DATC was able to keep control and Terolkian sovereignty in East Terolk. The Viceroy was moved in at the General Headquarters of the DATC in the former TNDA Fort Shepherd later that evening to safely reaffirm the existence of the Free State of Terolk. His Excellency then appointed a new government composing of secured members of the Terolkian People's Assembly who were not present in the State Legislature Building. Names were not revealed for the sake of their friends and families in Surban Terolk.

The speech lasted for an hour and it concluded with the hopes of Their Majesties for the speedy return of calm and harmony in Terolk. The King and Queen departed the Palace for Hodges Summer House, the Monarch's official summer residence located in East Terolk, where His Excellency the Viceroy of Terolk has requested an emergency audience along with the purpose to bring reassurance to Terolkians who remained loyal to the Free State besides those who were saved from the Surban Federal Republic's hold.

A policy on the new Terolkian state is known except for one regarding captured Desla-Ahneranian servicemen in the Surban Federal Republic. 6,000 Confederation Guardsmen were there until the coup, a thousand in Whitesbridge. It was not clear whether the Confederation Guard at the Terolkian capital made effort to resist the coup before or after nor is there anybody accounted to have successfully evacuated the capital. 2,997 Confederation Guard soldiers retreated to East Terolk where the Terolkian Free State still exists. 3,003 Confederation Guardsmen are left at the mercy of the Surban state. The Headquarters of Confederation Guards remains silent so far whether there were losses of life when Desla-Ahneranian soldiers fled Surban-occupied Terolk.

Interim Government Issues Ultimatum!

Following the declaration by the Desla-Ahneranian Parliament that the Free State of Terolk still exists in North-Eastern Surban, the Interim Government, made up of Army officials,have handed an official Ultimatum to Desla-Ahneranian authorities if war is to be avoided. The Ultimatum, which has been made public and available to report, reads;

'To: The Senate and People's Assembly of Desla-Ahnerania

Your continued occupation of Surban land is a vile attempt at continued imperialism, yet we wish to avoid anymore blood being shed in this conflict, although we will not hesitate. We, the Interim Government of the Surban Republic, deliver onto you the way into peace.

1. The 'Free State of Terolk's' dissolution is recognised and the Surban Republic is recognised as its independent successor.
2. North-Eastern Surban will be ceded to the Surban Republic
3. The Confederation Guard will be allowed to leave the Surban Republic without harm
4. The title 'Viceroy of Terolk' shall be abolsihed, along with its office
5. The DATC is dissolved

We pray to God that you will see sense and accept these terms, so that no war will occur.

Despite this offer of peace, the Interim Government has not gone unprepared. Many civlian naval vessels have been temporarily seized by the Surban Republic Naval Force and have had an assortment of LMGs and HMGs welded to them to make them combat ready. So far, 11 vessels have been seized with more expected to be. The Surban Republic National Defence Army has been moved up to the border of North-Eastern Surban, digging defensive trenches with MG posts, sniper nest, AT guns and mines litter the complex assortment of trenches.

Drafts has also been enforced by the Interim Government for males and females that are either unemployed or aren't employed in an important factor of the economy. The drafts have raised nearly 5,000 soldiers so far, with more expected to follow.

Writs of election issued for April

Maritza Petroche Emery addresses the crowd at a Republican Party rally in Yulza on Thursday night

YULZA - President John Francis Aberdeen has asked Chief Electoral Officer Marco de Soto Peña to issue electoral writs in each of the federal ridings of Parsalia for an election to occur on 22 April of this year.

Prime Minister Maritza Petroche Emery began plans to call for an election at the beginning of this year, citing popular discontent with the current Pan-Blue coalition consisting of the liberal-conservative Republican Party and the liberal Democratic Party. This discontent may have arisen out of conflicts of interest between the Republicans and the Democrats over increased immigration (legal and illegal) from third-world countries, net neutrality, anti-terrorism legislation, and federal funding of private religiously-based educational institutions. Despite the efforts of Petroche and Democratic leader Juan María Wachowiak Pérez to focus on other issues and to maintain moderate approaches to tackling the aforementioned issues, a significant contingent of the Democratic Party symbolically abstained from voting on this year's budget last week in protest, allowing parties in opposition led by the Socialist Party to block supply and to force the end of both the Pan-Blue's mandate and Wachowiak's leadership of the Democratic Party.

As it stands, Petroche remains leader of the Republican Party and will lead the party into the April election, while the Democratic Party has chosen Senator Miles Petrosian as interim leader until the election concludes. Petroche, in a Republican Party rally on Thursday night, stated her disappointment that the Pan-Blue coalition failed, referring to the dissenting Democrats, arguably led by Petrosian, as "traitors to good government, who see it fit to ruin three years of good work in an arrogant and undisciplined fashion over comparatively minor issues." Petrosian, in turn, fired back at Petroche in an interview on the Today programme, saying that "Liberals should not stand, and the people as a whole do not stand, for the continued Pan-Blue coalition, on account of the coalition's abrogation of decency and disregard for the rights of both citizens and immigrants." He opined that the "coalition was doomed to fail from the start," due to Wachowiak's mounting unpopularity within his own party from more socially left-wing Democrats.

From the opposition, the Labour Party does not give off the impression of being divided, despite the hitherto-polarising leadership of noted anti-capitalist and self-described "secularist" Stephen Grundman-Ashkar. Elected in May of last year, Grundman has made a name for himself by opposing Third Way and "new capitalist" streams within his own party and by openly making himself an adversary of the ruling coalition. Giving a speech in Yulza on Thursday night to a crowd of fervent Labour supporters, Grundman stated that he wanted to "reaffirm that the three-part foundation of the Labour Party - the trade unions, the feminists, and the disgruntled working-class common people - will continue to inform my policies and the decisions that I make as leader of this esteemed organisation." To that end, Grundman's election manifesto consists of talking points straight out of a Nordic left-wing party's playbook, namely supporting a referendum on a guaranteed minimum income, the progressive nationalisation of the energy sector, increasing taxes on the wealthy and on large corporations, and also including a proviso supporting "an alternative to the current process of globalisation that marginalises the poor, as well as ethnic minorities and the well-being of the environment."

President Aberdeen, himself a Democrat, urged the people of Parsalia in a press conference on Friday morning to "vote responsibly, to study the candidates for their constituency closely and what they stand for, and to not vote based solely on political affiliation or for other frivolous reasons. Such voting is likely what led us to the current state of affairs," he noted ominously.

The Prime Minister has publicly condemned President Padeleski of Ventlimer and Prime Minister Liliané Capaldi of Salvatrice in their recently publicized support for the unlawful Surban state occupying Terolk. Cease-fire Proposed in Terolk, Military Build-up Begins on Border

After the announcement of a Proposed Cease-fire in Terolk and the Condemnation placed on Ventlimer for supporting the freedom of its brothers, Ventlimian President Padeleski issued a sweeping condemnation on Desla-Ahnerania for their continued occupation.

"The Imperialists of Desla-Ahnerania have refused to give Terolk their freedom and all negotiations between the two nations will be poisoned by the threat of conflict as Desla-Ahnerania wrongfully stood in the way of a free Republic in Surban. This government officially recogonizes the Surban Republic as the legitimate government of ALL of former Terolk and refuses to allow a nation that has condemned us to militarize a portion of a friendly nation right on our border! We demand that Desla-Ahnerania approach Ventlimer to address the issues or the consequences will be immediate and immeasurable except on the Richter scale."

In the oceans around Ventlimer, 3 Combat Groups were deployed to the coast of Terolk and military buildup has begun along the border. Arial Combat patrols have begun and all forces are on high alert.

Grundman makes controversial remarks concerning the Terolk situation

SAN FRANCISCO JAVIER - The campaign season has certainly begun, and it should come as no surprise that Parsalian foreign policy is beginning to be brought to the limelight.

Labour Party leader and MP for University-Ratora Stephen Grundman-Ashkar appeared on the PBC en Español programme La Nación en Vivo on Friday night, where host Miguel Beauséjour Osorio asked him a variety of questions relating to current affairs and to the current Labour platform. Grundman is the first of the main party leaders that will be interviewed; current Prime Minister and Republican Party leader Maritza Petroche Emery will be interviewed on Monday night, interim Democratic Party leader Miles Petrosian on Tuesday night, Green Party leader Siriporn Sinpatanasakul on Wednesday night, and Communist leader Solomon Woodard on Thursday night.

Although many of his talking points were typical of the hard-line democratic-socialist ideology that Grundman has espoused for decades, one particular topic caught the attention of many in the audience and many of those watching the televised programme from their homes and other places.

"The situation in Surban is, in many ways, appalling," Grundman began, "because of the disgusting, heartless imperialism and opposition to free will that Desla-Ahnerania continues to maintain in regards to the self-determination of the Surban Republic and its people." He firmly placed his support with "the people of Surban and the representative Surban Republic," refusing to refer to the territory by its other name of Terolk or to recognise the Desla-Ahneranian Free State of Terolk in the northeastern part of the country. "We are now in the twenty-first century, and it's about time that self-determination of the downtrodden colonial nations of the world should be recognised."

After the programme aired, many people took to forms of social media to either voice solidarity with Grundman or to criticise him for his remarks. Green Party leader Sinpatanasakul tweeted "Grateful that @stephengrundman has begun the debate on the Surban situation. I support the free will of the Surbanese people. #freesurban" on Saturday morning. In contrast, Republican Party leader Petroche tweeted "We need a peaceful resolution in Terolk, not a violent revolution. Does @stephengrundman support democracy, or does he support terrorism?", while interim Democratic Party leader Petrosian tweeted "A misstep on @stephengrundman's part to support the Surban Republic so soon, when all we have seen from them is violent action. #surbanpeace".

La Nación host Beauséjour himself tweeted after the programme aired that "@stephengrundman does beg the question for us - is one man's terrorist his freedom fighter?", although he later clarified that he "did not intend to be critical nor supportive" of Grundman's comments. Beauséjour also tweeted that "The other candidates will be prompted about Terolk/Surban in the coming week. Stay tuned, and thank you for watching La Nación."
