A message from the Diplomacy Department
The Republic of Northwest Americana, with the intention of establishing bilateral ties between it and the nations of the world, announces the re-establishment of its embassy program for foreign nations. All nations with previously established embassies need not fear - they have will retain their embassies. All new embassies will be built on "World Community Street" in the national capital, Watis, located only seven blocks away from the Diplomacy Ministry main building. Applicants should take note of the following rules and regulations:
1. The Republic of Northwest Americana reserves the right to reject any application for an embassy for whatever reason, and need not explain its reason for so in public.
2. The Republic recognizes the principal of diplomatic immunity, however, this does not apply to minor infractions such as traffic infractions.
3. Any ambassador found to have violated a more serious law in the Republic (such as a felony) will be declared persona non grata diplomatic relations with that State will be subject to Parliamentary review.
4. Foreign diplomats residing outside of the embassy do so according to the rules and regulations of their home nation. Likewise, the government of Northwest Americana will determine the place for your embassy; construction of which must be paid for by the foreign nation.
5. While the interior of the embassy and embassy grounds are considered sovereign territory of the foreign nation, be aware that graffiti is legal in Northwest Americana and such will most certainly turn up on your embassy. Be prepared to maintain embassy grounds at your own expense.
