Had the Sovereign Empire existed in this Cold War, we would certainly would have sided with United States and its NATO allies.... given our nation's history against the communists.

1975-1991- Neutral

The Vietnam War and the social-economic climate of Lionel at that time caused a rift between pro-NATO state representatives and those who were against it on moral grounds and a desire for an independent foreign policy.

Wardie land was in the Western Bloc, Wardie land supported the Republic of China, fought in the Korean War on the side of the Republic of Korea, fought in the Vietnam War and related conflicts in support of the Republic of Vietnam and allied nations etc.

We wouldn't have been involved. We would have thought the whole thing was self-destructive and ridiculous. We would have been quietly minding our own business whilst praying the idiots with the bombs didn't bring about the end of the world in the meantime.

I'd say we'd be with the United States, although neutral at first.

In 1968, a Communist insurgency, which caused the southwestern part of Verdiga to break away and become a Communist state called "Southwest Verdiga", sparked a six-year civil war. At first, it was just Southwest Verdiga, then, during the middle of the war, the Communists took the entire South, thus, being called South Verdiga. but in the end, thanks to a few Communist leaders defecting to the Government and American intervention, the Communists were defeated, and Verdiga became whole. While not the most terrible war in Verdiger history (World War 2 was worse), this caused Verdiga to become staunchly anti-Communist, which decreased over time.

Realistically we would probably remain aloof from the internecine wars of a primitive planet that has yet to develop interstellar travel unless they was an extremely improbable situation of one side having some resource we what that they are willing to trade to us, and then our interactions with them would be extremely limited.

Ideologically if we were a nation that was part of a a planet like that's ideological train wreck we would probably form our own alliance of independent nations.

Neutral, as Davao and Mati on that time has implemented a similar laws that is the same to Finlandisation however we did not bow the east neither to the west in order to prevent a double-mooning diplomatic scandal, as our neighbours in Asia are allied with the Americans and the NATO while other is on the USSR-China faction of the alliance henceforth Davao and Mati is nicknamed as Finland of Asia
