Government:
Monarch: King Lucius IV
Prime Minister: Joseph Wulf

The Head of State/Government and Commander-in-Chief is the Monarch. The Prime minister works directly for the monarch and helps manages (his/her) majesty's government. The is a closer role to vice president or chief of staff found in other nations than compared to prime ministers of actual power.

The one power the parliament has is to appoint regents in times of royal vacancies.

Judicial Branch:
The Judicial Branch is headed by the High Court of Notrea. The High Court consists of 15 court judges who judge cases based on a simple majority. High Court judges are appointed by the Monarch. The Kingdom of Notrea

Geography

Notrea Is a smaller coastal nation.
Area: Est. 73,000 Km2
Population Density: ???/km2
Terrain: The terrain in Notrea generally breaks down into 1/3 farm-able coastal lands, and 2/3 deep pacific-northwest style rain forests.

Natural Resources:
The three key mineral resources are Iron, Copper, and silver, which are found in the mountain ranges along with some small deposits of coal. Timber, although heavily regulated and restricted to certain areas is very profitable, though a small industry(No lumber exports allowed). Hydroelectric power, due the the extensive damming programs in the 1960s, is the main source of energy. Supplementing these dams are some older coal plants that are being slowly phased out, and even now are only used during the winter, which can be fairly harsh on the power grid in Notrea. Many rural residents heat their homes at least partially with wood burning fireplaces.
Recent projects in geothermal and wind power technology have began practical trials, but many in the government believe that to ensure a truly stable and independent energy source, that a nuclear power facility must be developed. Most citizens however, believe that such a program would attract the unwanted attention of aggressive nuclear powers potentially suspecting Notrea of developing nuclear weapons.

Elevation:
  • Highest point - 10,500 ft
  • Mean - 1,900 ft
  • Lowest Point - 0 ft

The Kingdom of Notrea

Notrean Army

Description:
The Army is the main ground force of the military. The army is primarily a reactionary defensive force, but it is the largest of all the branches, and the one easiest to draft into thanks to the large reserves of small arms weaponry the government has kept over the years.

Active Army:
The majority of the active army operates out of Fort Crighton, a military base a few miles outside of Notrea Bay. Day to day operations of active units includes training, equipment maintenance, and assisting in territorial security by patrolling remote areas of Notrea.

Reserve Army:
In addition to Fort Crighton, the reserve component of the army has 9 armories around the country for monthly training and equipment storage. When the reserve army does drill their duties usually include training and equipment maintenance. During yearly training, active and reserve units complete training courses cooperatively to improve cohesion throughout the ranks.

Strategic Arms Reserve:
To understand the concept of the Strategic Arms Reserve(SAR) some context is needed. Notrea hasn't been at war in hundreds of years, and any conflicts have usually been ended quickly with minimal military force. Due to this enviromental history, military budget and personnel strength have never been the number one priority.
The SAR is a mothballed stockpile of small arms and military equipment that is currently unused or is outdated. A Notrean general once remarked that the army "wouldn't throw away a pile of rocks if it could be used as a weapon".
That is an exaggeration, but most of the SAR is aging equipment dating back decades.
The purpose of this stockpile is to retain the ability to quickly and cheaply arm a drafted force of Notreans in order to mobilize as quickly as possible. The logic behind this is that its better to have a fighting force ready to go right away.
The contents of the SAR are kept clean and in working order under the military office of Asset Acquisition and Retention. This office manages every aspect of the SAR. In order to maintain such a stockpile, the office uses military reservists of all branches in addition to its small force of dedicated mechanics and engineers. Civilian mechanic students who pass background checks can and do volunteer at the SAR in return for free training and work experience.
Current SAR Contents:
TBD
