Hello there! Whether you're a prospective RPer, or maybe someone new to the game, or maybe just someone browsing the forum, you've stumble upon this thread. To keep this short and sweet, Harmonia is an alternate world for Modern Tech, world building, and role playing nations. Similar, but not identical regions include Tiandi and Esquarium.

Harmonia, which is linked at the top of the thread, is a Modern Tech RP region. This region is a planet disconnected from the real world, one with real nations, cultures, and continents. The awesome thing about this region is that your nation can help shape the region by RPing as your ic nation. However, as with many RP nations, there are some things you need to consider.

Guidelines

For starters, this is a Modern Tech region. Any nation with future or very past tech levels will be rejected. This is also a region that does not involve the real world. As such, any in character and national references to other nations in the real earth are forbidden. Don't do that.

We also will reject any unrealistic nations. If you don't know if your nation is unrealistic, then it probably means your country is unrealistic. But, unrealistic nations are nations with massive populations of over 1.2 billion, nations with extraordinarily wealthy citizens, nations with ridiculous tech levels, etc. We're not about that.

For the sake of fairness, the larger your nation is, the less wealthy and developed it should be. This isn't always true in earth, but it makes sense here for a nation of 2,000,000 to have equal footing with a nation of 500,000,000. So, if your 500 million people nation is extremely wealthy as well, you will be rejected.

List any puppets/prior rp experience here: United Provinces of Atlantic is a puppet of mine that I don't actually use, I only use to keep and old region alive for historical purposes. As for RP experience, I'v been involved in several P2TM RPs and a few RPs involving my nation. And I'm pretty sure you already know me, right?

Culture and Background of your country(at least three sentences): Gurmzhar, officially known as the Republic of Gurmzhar, is a federal parliamentary republic located in Harmonia. Its population of 207 million are incredibly diverse both ethnically, linguistically, and religiously, as around 40% of the populace is Punjabi and speaks Punjabi (though in Gurmzhar it's called Gurmukhi), 38% of the populace is and speaks Tamil (though in Gurmzhar it's called Tamizhar), around 4% of the populace is and speaks Zapotec, 16% of the population are migrant workers (speaking various languages and belonging to various ethnic groups, although the Gurmzhari Government counts and treats migrant workers as a separate ethnic group), 2% of the populace is in another ethnic group, and around 55% of the populace practices Hinduism, 20% of the populace practices an indigenous Animistic faith, and the other 25% practices either another religion or no religion at all.

Gurmzhar is a developed country, with a GDP per capita of $36,309, although there is a wide socioeconomic disparity between the ill-treated migrant workers, who are not granted any legal protections outside of the most basic protections and are not granted any welfare by the government, and Gurmzhar's citizens, who are granted legal protections and a considerable welfare state by the government, which includes universal healthcare. Unlike most developed nations, Gurmzhar has not yet made the transition to a service economy and its economic growth is to a large extent driven by exports. Its economy is largely dependent on Mining and associated trades (Transportation, Metallurgy, etc.) as Gurmzhar is the home of the majority (if you approve it, that is) of Harmonia's Cobalt, Coltan, Copper, Silicon, Tin, and Tungsten deposits. Gurmzhar also contains large Diamond, Gold, Platinum and Coal deposits. An estimated 35% of Gurmzhar's population works in Mining and associated trades, around 40% of which are migrant workers. Agriculture is also something of a major Gurmzhari industry, with around 2% of Gurmzhari's population involved in Agriculture, the vast majority of whom are migrant workers. Gurmzhar is a major producer of chocolate, coffee, sugar, coconuts and pineapples, with the vast majority of theses goods exported abroad. Over the past few years, there have also been signs of a start in a tourism industry.

Gurmzhar is well-known worldwide for its world-class cuisine. Butter chicken is Atlantica's favourite food the Gurmzhari national dish. Gurmzhar's various ethnic groups have made their mark on Gurmzhari cuisine, with dishes such as, for example, Chapulines and Taquitos originating with one specific ethnic group but spreading out throughout Gurmzhar. Rice is a staple food for most Gurmzharis, while Tea is drunken heavily by Gurmzharis. Only water is drank more than Tea in Gurmzhar.
