This has always been Olwe's stance, as well. Although for purposes of actual cyberbullying the government does step in, and prosecutes the offenders rather harshly (it's not uncommon for teens who misuse the Holonet to be at least tortured, if not executed).

The national government recognizes no such concept though private companies may assist with deletion of content permanently.

No, it would be a violation of freedom of speech and therefore it would simply be unconstitutional.

There are no laws about this, since we have never heard of such a right.

Privacy laws are very strict here, and there is a deep distrust of large data collections like social media sites.
By law, you have the right to delete your own account from most any website if not the content submitted during it's existence. There's a few exceptions like accounts on government-run sites that have to retain it for legal reasons. (the DMV)
Search engines aren't really affected by this since they can't direct you to things that no longer exist, but sites that make it hard or impossible to close accounts may face legal action.

While the right to be forgotten isn't universally recognised by law throughout the Federacy, there is a strong movement toward that goal.

Kiravians strongly value privacy and a sense of property over their own identity, making the right to be forgotten a popular political cause. As it stands now, some 22 states have adopted laws affirming an individual's right to have their data deleted from various digital systems after their death, at least to some extent. Candidates and political parties affiliated with the libertarian conservative Liberty Group, internet-friendly Direct Democratic Front, and consumer-protection advocate Conservative-Reformist cadres have often cited the right to be forgotten as among their political goals.

Those that want to perform the costly operation of removing their credentials from the internet must prove their privacy rights were violated. Violation of privacy however is very rare

There are no such laws in Dagnia. In some very rare cases involving ongoing investigations, search engines may be required to temporarily not list certain search results, but that's about it. If you don't want your information up or to be a target of cyberbullying, it is on you to not put your information up and not make yourself a target.

We do recognize the right to be forgotten. You can live your life anyway you want here as long as it conforms with state philosophy. That is for the greater common good of a Marxist state.

Any person who has not violated the law in Roosevelt and Truman is entitled to the right to be forgotten, and can assume a new identity as recognized by the government.

There is no such "right". if you have a secret, keep it. Don't blather it all over the Internet and then expect other people to "forget" it.

The right to be forgotten exists to limited extents in the Free Lands of Miklargard, and for the most part it is recognized on a case-to-case basis.
I'm an American in his late teens who lives in upstate New York.

To be honest, I don't really like doing blanket "For" and "Against" statements about myself, since, for the most part, I think it's best to judge things on a case-by-case basis. Just know that if you make an effort to get along with me, then I'll probably make an effort to get along with you. Also, telegrams are nice, so feel free to message me about whatever.

I try to make IC decisions based on what an old, tired, military version of myself would do, but at the same time, many of the decisions I make are practical and/or necessary based on the circumstances of my nation. As a result, Miklargard doesn't do a very good job of portraying my beliefs.

Our community does not have such a right, although we have a right to be forgiven for those who make a mistake, own up to it and make amends.

Nothing is ever forgotten. You can't hide from your past or try to erase history in any way.

We store data in a datanet spread out across the republic with copies of each piece of data stored in a myriad of locations that are actively and individually managed so that it would be near impossible to erase anything that is of interest to us.

Your country and the right to be forgotten

Postby Parhe » Sat Jul 25, 2015 6:41 pm

The Holy Parhic Empire does not recognize the right to be forgotten. The country has always prioritized the freedom of expression and freedom of information over the freedom of privacy.
Hey, it is Parhe :D I am always open to telegrams.
I know it is a Work-In-Progress, but I would love it if y'all looked at my new factbook and gave me some feedback!
