Jump up. Jump down. Jump off a building and go down.

Now for real, we do have helicopter transport, but only the brave do it. You get tethered to A chopper and carried across the city hanging by a few cables tied around you.

Sapient ponies and changelings can teleport/fly. There is also, as well as the normal transport, the skycutter (legal) which flies, and the bicycle (illegal on roads or pavements and dangerous but some use it anyway.)

YellowApple, Inc. has the YellowApple Superluminal Transit Network, a system of wormhole-based portals ("static superluminal transit nodes") connecting each and every YellowApplan city and settlement (and quite a few non-YellowApplan cities and settlements) throughout the multiverse.

Skimmers, a type of hovercraft, are used. Skimmers usually run on diesel and other fossil fuels. Since the Embargo with their manufacturing state, most of them have seen better days.

The most famous offbeat transport method in Letrastan is the wooden sled. These long, narrow sleds with flat decks and thin runners were used by the ancient Letrastani tribes before the founding of the nation, and remained the primary mode of transportation until the mid-19th century, with a few remaining in daily use until 2002.
In order to use the wooden sled, you need no horses or snow. Simply place your hand on it, and transfer some magical energy from yourself to the sled. Once this is done, sit on the deck of the sled facing forward and focus your mind. Now imagine a force pushing on the back of the sled, like a pair of invisible hands. If you visualise this correctly, the sled should start to magically move forwards at ever-increasing speeds. With practice, it is possible to make the sled soar into the air or race along roads at hundreds of miles an hour. Speeds of over 9000 miles an hour are theoretically possible, but it would be a miracle for the sled not to break into splinters at that velocity.

The second offbeat method of transit is the chairlift. While many countries around the world use chairlifts to take skiers up mountains, Letrastan goes a step further and uses them as a mode of transport in cities, especially those with rivers and hills. Many of the chairlifts were built hundreds of years ago and were designed to run on magical energy. However, unlike the magical sleds, they remain in widespread use today as it is easy to convert the magic motors into electric ones.
The chairlifts often scare tourists, as many of them have seats very similar to the ones depicted below despite sometimes traveling at 30 metres above the ground or traversing wide bodies of water.

If you ask me what is most common way to get from town to town in Kraslavia, that will take you to even most rural and isolated town in country - I must say: marshrutka. Those little, cowded and cheap busses have one adventage over other transport - they are everywhere. Even if village are three houses in deep woods - there propably is marshrutkas stop.
There are many legends, stories and anegdotes about these buses. Drivers tend to drive like maniacs and ignore lesser damage of vechicles. There are no problematic or dangerous roads - they drives in any possible conditions in Kraslavia, often on speed limit. Of course class of marshrutkas varies, depending on place. Different thing is buss going form one popular district of big city to another, and different going between small villages. Also - beware tourists - drivers tend to take more money form you, than from locals. If crowd and potholes are not problem for you - then marshrutka is good, cheap choice for travell.

That would be traveling on Imperial Road without papers and permits, HAHAHAHAHA!
...which is utterly illegal under penalty of heavy fine and roadwork.

But in all seriousness, perhaps traveling in vast literal airships using antigravity or lighter-than-air method of flying can be considered as 'unusual' or 'offbeat'. So would traveling by land-dreadnoughts, whale-submarines or multi-armed death trains. All of transportation methods above are, incidentally, often used for meetings and parties, especially good old orgies.

As of late, local businessmen of all stripes have been throwing funding towards building rails for these great metal contraptions called 'locomotives' to move around on. Normally, these things are used for transporting goods in quantities too heavy to be sensibly taken by horse and cart, but these gentlemen wish to fashion locomotives that will carry people from town to town instead of coal or ore from mine to factory. Whatever will they think of next? Soon they'll have those deathtraps moving around with the aid of a rail line, or they'll fly, what larks!
Formerly Khanastan; the Praetorian Empire is set in the same geographical region, only around 200 years earlier.

The Praetorian Empire is a PreT nation set in a world going through an age similar to the Victorian Era - a world of Great Powers, Imperialism, Political Revolution and Technological Advancement where the capitalist machine is beginning to stir into action and when nations were at their largest and grandest. If anyone wants to roleplay a time in that era, feel free to TG me.

The Greater Korean Republic's modern (futuristic) ways of transportation are often considered unusual by more primitive nations. For example, many Koreans utilize teleportation for short distances (i.e city to city), while long distances use hyper drives and warp gates.
