Infrastructure Geography

Major Roads of Woolzistan

The map below illustrates the major roads in Woolzistan. In Grey you can see the primary motorways and in brown other major routes. Due to the mountainous nature of border areas there are a limited number of crossings into Woolzistans land neighbours.

Woolzistan Electoral Districts

The map below illustrates the Electoral Districts that are used for elections in Woolzistan, rural areas electing 5 Members of Parliament and urban 7 Members. For an overview of the Woolzistan Electoral System, see here.

Image

The districts are roughly equal in size, although major urban areas are given more Members of Parliament due to larger population compared to rural areas.

Religion in Woolzistan.

We shall now start on an overview of religion in Woolzistan. Woolzistan is a multi-confessional state, with power shared between the major religious groups and parliamentary representation divvied between the confessional groups. For more on religion in Woolzistan see here and here.

Image

The map illustrates the largest (defined as over 40% of the population and at least 10% more than the second largest group) confessional group in each electoral district.

As you can see;

- Sunni religious strength is in the more northern Provinces, on the eastern border, in the southwest of the country around Byre as well as the suburbs of Greater Hallapo.
- Christians dominate in the southern and coastal Provinces of Teirut, Dripoli and Santioch.
- Dabadi Muslims are the largest group in Gatakia Province and around Hallapo.
- The Druze are largely located in the rugged terrain in the centre of the country.
- The Shia have two areas of concentrations in the northwest and to the east of Santioch.
- The major urban areas of Hallapo is very mixed in terms of population.

Religion in Woolzistan Continued

The rather complicated map below is designed to illustrate the complex nature of religious distribution in Woolzistan. Communities are very intermixed, with a cluster of villages belonging to one religion and then the next set of villages following a different faith.

Image

Each square represents a proportion of the population in an area and the religious community they belong to. You'll note the concentration of the population along the coastline and major communication and transport routes.

The spread of Sunni Muslims throughout the country is easy to note, as is the other concentration of various groups, particularly Maronite Catholics in the southwest and Ixnay Orthodox and Urcean Catholic in the southeast.
