Tarterros is a one-party state. The only legal political party the Tarterran Regal Party, a prima facie pro-royal political party with various internal factions. These internal factions are not legal entities but are rather a fluid system of internal alliances.

The dominant faction is currently the liberal faction, which seeks to maintain civil and economic freedoms, believing the best way to maintain the system is to give people relative freedom in their personal lives. The conservative/absolutist faction seeks an even greater role for the Sovereign Prince and advocates stricter personal freedoms (notably imposing stricter drug laws, re-introduction of the death penalty, and so forth) while the socialist faction seeks to increase taxes, corporate responsibility and regulations, and advocates a greater role for the state. Other minor factions exist, but only the tree above have had members on the National Committee in the past decade.

Elections are done at a local level and are mandatory for all citizens over the age of 18 and physically capable of voting. Voters select their TRP representative from a list and each faction usually pushes for their candidates to appear. Alas, not all factions are represented in all ridings as the lists are usually the result of influence and personality; it is not unusual for some ridings to only have one candidate while others have a plethora.

As a result, all 1666 seats of the National Assembly are TRP controlled. The National Assembly then elects the 25 members of the National Board from its own ranks. The National Board then elects 9 members to form the National Committee, again from its own ranks. The National Director is then elected from the ranks of the National Committee by the National Committee. As such, the National Director is a member of the National Committee, who are all members of the National Board, who are in turn members of the National Assembly.

As influence plays a huge role in terms of who is elected to what position, the system is actually top-down in practice while bottom-up in theory; so while the people elect the members in theory, most members are actually groomed for positions by their predecessors, superiors, or by virtue of proximity to influential members.

The National Assembly then convenes once a week, usually to rubber-stamp policies set forth by higher bodies. The Sovereign Prince may override any policies, bills, or acts approved by the National Assembly, and power struggles between the Sovereign Prince/Privy Council and National Director/etcetera have occurred over divisive policies.

The Draemon States is a one-party state, mainly because the political party is state-run. All other parties must have the approval of the state-run party to be established. This guarantees that the country runs on one set of principles.

The Executive Party: Is far right on social issues and is mainly governed by religion. Fiscally speaking, it supports privatization, although not at the expense of government authority. It also advocates for full loyalty to The Head of State. It is funded by the government itself.

The parliamentary body, mainly an assembly for consulting purposes, elects a Chancellor to serve as their chairman. The Chancellor also serves as the Chairman and Head of the political party under the authority of The Head of State, the person with the most power.

The government sponsors a National Board Committee which contains prominent leaders of The Executive Party, and they're in charge of drafting plans for The Executive Party's future. Anyone running for the position of Chancellor must first go through nomination prior to election, and the National Board Committee is in charge of nominating those, thus becoming a factor to keeping The Executive Party as the main monopoly.

The Progress Party
One of the main parties in Oaza, which is in favour of a points based immigration system, extra spending on the public, decrease in military spending, for gay marriage, in favour of legalising drugs, increasing the minimum wage and a more sustainable environment. Is centre left.
The Conservative Party
One of the main parties in Oaza, which is for tightening boarders, boosting the economy by making cuts, introducing tuition fees on university's, and extra spending on the military. Is against gay marriage, drugs legalisation and environmentalism. Is right-wing.
The Socialist Party
One of the main parties in oaza, which is in favour of no boarder control whatsoever, extra spending on the public, next to no military spending, for gay marriage, in favour of legalising all drugs, increasing the minimum wage, less spending on the environment, and is in favour of joining the WA. Is left-wing.
The Populist Party
Is one of the main parties in Oaza, which is in favour of a points based immigration system but one tighter than the Progress Party suggests, a small increase in public spending, continuing spending the same rate on the military as the nation currently is, neutral on gay marriage, on favour of legalising and heavily taxing drugs, in favour of increasing the minimum wage, sceptic on the environment and also sceptic on the WA. Is centre-right.
Oaza First
Is a minor party in Oaza, which is in favour of closing the boarders completely, small increase in public spending, large increases in military spending, wants to outlaw homosexuality, in favour of outlawing all drug use, in favour of abolishing the minimum wage, wants all schools to be religious in nature, heavily sceptical on the environment and strongly against the WA. Is far-right.
Eco-Green
Is a minor party in Oaza, which is in favour of no boarder control whatsoever, vast increases in public spending, abolishing all military spending, in favour of legalising all drugs, increasing the minimum wage by far, vast increases on environmental spending, and strongly in favour of joining the WA. Is left-wing.

Personally I'm in favour of the Populist Party but I thought I'd add a wide range of parties.

Heritage Party - The Heritage party represents conservative values. They are opposed to Appalachia's welfare state, stringent environmental regulations, isolationist foreign policy, pro-union stance, and increases of federal power. The Heritage Party's leaders have always espoused the view that issues like gay marriage, abortion, and marijuana legalization should be left up to the provinces. In truth almost all of their members oppose those things. They support traditional values against gay marriage and abortion. They support a crackdown on drug use, implementing school vouchers, and ending single-payer health insurance. They want to lower taxes, especially for the upper classes and corporations, and strengthen the military and border protection. They are supported mainly by Appalachia's older and wealthier citizens.

Union Party - The Union party is a liberal party that supports increasing environmental regulations, a total ban on mountaintop removal mining and fracking, green energy, expanding protected lands, increased taxes on the wealthy but lowered taxes on the middle and lower classes, increased higher education financial aid, higher corporate taxes, higher wages, decriminalizing drug use, and increasing immigration. They wish to open up more bilateral relations with other countries. They view the Mountain Alliance's stance on the environment as too weak, and are particularly opposed to nuclear energy. They are also supportive of ending capital punishment and reducing sentences for certain non-violent crimes. They often accuse both the Mountain Alliance party and the unions they support of being corrupt. They are supported heavily by public sector unions and urban, minority, and youth voters.

Mountain Alliance - A populist "state party" (think of the PRI in Mexico) that has been in power since Appalachia won its independence 20 years ago, they were the leaders of the independence movement. Under its leadership, unions play a strong role in the government. Appalachia has remained staunchly isolationist on the international stage. Environmental regulations have been increased some but remain lax enough that mining has again become a growing industry in Appalachia. They have created a welfare state modeled after Great Britain, which has included single-payer health insurance and high welfare and unemployment benefits, and invested massive amounts of money into public infrastructure projects. This has come at the cost of high taxes for all citizens but particularly the wealthy. Mountain Alliance has support throughout Appalachia but its main base of support is the rural population.

Postby Singulus » Sun May 31, 2015 4:54 am

Singulus has no party system, a representative democracy or any democracy at all; indeed, the very notion of someone ruling over the other without their consent is unheard of here. There are several political factions aiming at influencing Singulus, however, but their influencing is limited to activism, civil disobedience, direct action and occasionally even terrorism rather than direct rule over everyone else. There is also the establishment or the conglomeration of founders known as The Family. They do not rule, but they make sure the constitution of Singulus is kept and have contracted the Knightly Order of Gale or K.O.G. for short to make it so. Here are the primary factions of Singulus.

The Family are the five founders of Singulus: John Casper Smith, Maxine Edgebrow, Tanya Egome, Maximilian Appleton and Lise Middel. They are a faction of pro-establishment individualist anarchists, libertarians and voluntaryists, whose central tenets are life, liberty and property. They are well respected among Singulians and trusted by the businesses in keeping the economy free from regulation and taxation. It is said that The Family has its eyes and ears everywhere and it has been suspected and accused for corruption and preferring the large corporations over smaller businesses, like sole proprietorships and partnerships. John Casper Smith is seen as the head of the family and the primary founder of Singulus. He is an egoist anarchist and in variance to the rest of The Family, doesn't respect property rights of anyone or any kind.

The Knightly Order of Gale or K.O.G. for short is not a true faction in the sense that it's a private military company, or a corporation which employs and trains mercenaries. Despite being a business, it has a strong pro-establishment and pro-Family stance. Its founder is Sven Galen, who leads the company alongside its general Gren Quick. Its leading commanders consist entirely of women—the Edgebrow quadruplets or sisters, who are related to Maxine Edgebrow, one of the founders of Singulus. They are Auburn, Audrey, Aurora and Autumn Edgebrow. The Knightly Order of Gale is divided into three subgroups: the knights, the guardians and the crusaders. The knights are the regular troops of K.O.G. with standard weaponry and power armor. The guardians are heavy troops with stronger power armor designed for use with heavy shields, force fields, weapons and explosives. Most of them defend the Gale HQ from attacks, but some are issued as bodyguards for VIP:s. The crusaders are like the knights, despite having special, often elemental, corrosive, radiological, poisonous or otherwise non-conventionally hazardous weaponry. Naturally, their armor corresponds to the weaponry they use so that they won't be caught in the effects of their weapons. The K.O.G. is mostly at odds with Anti-Machine Action, any runaway machines and robots or other smaller anti-establishment factions.

The Anti-Machine Action or just Antima for short is an activist and terrorist group responsible of countless amounts of property damage, especially towards Mercurius Corporation, Black Hat Company and Mack Machinery. The group avoids taking lives whenever possible, but direct attacks to their camps are responded to with open fire. The group opposes the robotization of the workplace, but not technological advancement in general. They claim that replacing human workers with robots will lead to more people being tossed to the streets instead of the utopian society of comfort for everyone that for example Mercurius Corporation and Mack Machinery promise. They oppose robotics to the point of discrimination towards anyone with an AI, which is why they would never accept any runaway robots, like roguebots or raiderbots to their ranks, even if they were against the establishment or the businesses producing the machines and robots. Attempts to hunt them down have been futile, as they know how to hide and defend themselves remarkably well. Many K.O.G. mercenary teams have been lost to the Antima, so any further missions against them will be regarded and classified as suicide missions. The Anti-Machine Action is led by its generals Butsz Kahne and Cheka Yubar and its leading commanders are Saladin al-Diran, Viktor Zenwen, Fanes Lix and Zekung Shien-tso.
