Video gaming is uncommon in Bayonetta. While the video games Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 are available free of charge at any retailer (and other games made in our nation featuring Bayonetta won't cost you more than the equivalent of 40USD), games without Bayonetta are heavily taxed and can cost up to the equivalent of 130USD.

The only rating system used in Bayonetta is simple: games rated B feature Bayonetta in the game and games rated NB do not.
The Queendom of Bayonetta is a virtual absolute monarchy ruled by Bayonetta where females rule and men are considered inferior and systematically oppressed. Our population is capped at 117 million.

Video games are quite popular in Delkora, and are not subject to censorship. Rating systems are not mandated by the government, but many video game companies voluntarily utilize them.

What is the status of video games in your nation?
Quite popular, actually. A common pass-time for many and obsession for some, the average citizen is probably a "filthy casual" by some standards. Older generations aren't as keen on video games as younger generations.

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned?
Yes, following our TV/Film broadcast ratings: E (everyone), PG (parental guidance, 9+), T (teen, 13+), R (restricted, 17+), and X (adults only - explicit sexual material, 18+).
Games where rape is an objective are banned. Games that overtly promote multi-party democracy are censored.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here?
Quite so. E-sports are gaining in popularity and some big titles abroad sell well here. Comic and anime conventions usually have segments or areas dedicated to video games, though many larger cities have seen dedicated gaming conventions pop up.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation?
All consoles and handhelds that conform to Tarterran safety and intellectual property laws are available - if it's generally available worldwide, it'll be available here.
Constitutional monarchy, single-party state, liberal autocracy.

What is the status of video games in your nation?
Very popular, especially with younger generations.

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned?
Yes, from E (everyone), PG (parental guidance, 9+), T (teen, 13+), to M (mature, 18+)
Games must follow media content laws and so cannot depict rape and child abuse.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here?
Very. Gaming tournaments have their own dedicated sports channels these days.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation?
Very popular as well. Any legitimate device can be sold here, though authorities clamp down on blatant rip-offs and scam devices.

What is the status of video games in your nation?

Video games are legal in Thervingia.

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned?

They are rated from A. (all, everyone), WB. (weitons berusjans, parental guidance, 7+), J. (juggalaudos, teenagers, 12+), and U. (uswahsana, adults, 17+).

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here?

Gamecentric stores are quite popular here and have quite a big market, but there are no big festivals or tournaments here, except for the annual Dota 2 or what-have-you tournament here or there.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation?

They're not as popular as personal computers, although the obvious PS and xbox are well liked. Most of the currently available consoles and devices in the world are present here as well.

What is the status of video games in your nation? Popular and thriving, most children stay inside all day playing videogames instead of going to the park or exercising.

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned? There is a rating system that doesn't mean much and no games are banned. However, several anti-videogame activists including a man named Tom Jackson have petitioned and campaigned to ban all violent videogames in San Andreas.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here? Very popular. In fact, the streets of San Andreas have also become completely deserted of all children since all kids in San Andreas do is play videogames. Many people who visit San Andreas are surprised to not see any children in the streets.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation? All very popular. The EXsorbeo 720 is probably the most popular videogame console in San Andreas. Mobile games are also popular.

Several popular videogames in San Andreas include...

Stealy Wheely Automobiley - A popular open word sandbox game where you murder prostitutes and run over civilians. The game is rated G for "Gibberish".

Righteous Slaughter 7 - An first person shooter game developed by Misfire Games for the eXsorbeo 720 console. It is a sequel to Righteous Slaughter 6, which came out 3 months before. It's virtually identical to the 6 previous instalments featuring an overly patriotic single player campaign and multiplayer which features swearing prepubescent boys who claim they've had sexual intercourse with your mother. The game is rated PG for "Pretty much the same as the last Game".

Pride Not Prejudice - A first person shooter about shooting communists in the Deep South. In-game activities include committing farm-yard sodomy and drinking grain alcohol while driving at high speeds. The game is rated R for "retarded".

Digifarm- A "free" mobile game where you manage a farm, including watching crops grow in real time (unless you spend real money on micro-transactions to obtain virtual coins to make the crops grow faster!) and buy useless overpriced sprites that do absolutely nothing. Available on the iFruit phone, Drone and all overpriced tablets.

Digiplaya- Another mobile game where you own and manage your own harem. You can buy sprite diamonds and flowers and drive a sprite sportscar to compensate as you continue your quest of being the number 1 "Playa" on a leaderboard that means nothing. You can also increase the length and girth of your sprites penis with purchasable experience points.
This nation is based off the setting of the videogame Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. So make as much GTA references as possible.
Beavers are actually extinct in San Andreas. We built our dams on top of theirs and dumped all our raw sewage into the rivers. It's why Los Santos was voted 2013 most polluted city (suck it Beijing!)

Video games are popular in the UNOT, especially on the Xbox One and PS4. The Nintendo 3DS is also very popular as a handheld.

We use PEGI game ratings, so it's easy for everyone to understand.

Here is a list of some banned video games:
  • RapeLay (due to extreme sexual content)
  • Postal series (due to extreme violence and gross content, the Steam version is blocked by the national filter)
  • Manhunt 2 (due to extreme violence and gross content)
  • Mass Effect series (due to the law banning homosexuality)

They are allowed. However, the Youth Morals Committee can ban video games or movies that violate absolute morals go against the Church or state, or promotes rebellion. It is reasonable.

The popularity for video games has recently gone through a rising but seems to be flat-lining in the 20% area of the entire youth of the country.

Same ratings as ESRB's. The video gaming industry is beginning to look to other countries as the demands for video games decline in The Draemon States.

Since their inception in the 1970's, and during the existence of Carolina, video games have grown to become the most popular and financially successful media business in the country, as well as the world.

There is an independent rating system for video games. It's called the Electronic Games Rating Board, and lists its ratings from youngest to oldest as follows:
  • EC -- "Early Childhood". Designed specifically for young children around six or younger.
  • E -- "E for Everyone". Designed for any age group.
  • T -- "T for Teen". Designed for the teenage (13 to 17) demographic.
  • M -- "M for Mature". Designed for the adult demographic. Children/teenagers require a parent or guardians consent to be able to purchase games of this rating.
  • AO -- "Adults Only". Explicitly restricted to adults only. Only those 18 and above may purchase these games, and they are very uncommon to be rated as such.
Games are giving a specific rating based on what is in the game, such as language, violence, blood, etc.

The current set of video game consoles is referred to as a "generation". As of 2081, it is the 18th console generation. Current consoles include:
  • PlayStation X
  • Xbox ReSurge
  • Nintendo New V
  • Apple iGame 3
  • SEGA Horizon
Pro: Democracy, left-libertarianism, Keynesian economics, centrism, social democracy, free market, capitalism.
Neutral: Monarchism, conservatism, liberalism, socialism.
Anti: Totalitarianism, right-libertarianism, laissez-faire economics, fascism, communism, single-party state, state controlled economy.

Video games are hugely popular across the entire Union. People of all ages enjoy gaming, and video games are very easy to buy, being available even in convenience stores, and at reasonable prices.

The video game industry is very strong. Domestic company Silicon Technologies, better known as SilTech, produce their own consoles. The Gamma, released in the nineties, is incredibly still going strong, thanks to the several upgrades that were sold during the turn of the millennium, to the point that it is the only console with a dual cartridge and optical disc port. It's "successor", the Epsilon, is an attempt to create a console powerful enough to compete with high-end gaming PCs, with the downside of being comparatively more expensive than its eighth generation competitors. Both are extremely popular.
A more detailed history of both consoles can be read here:
Consoles in F&O

Video games use the same ratings used to rate TV shows, movies, music, comics and books. They are provided by the Ministry of Culture. Unlike the American ESRB, the MINCULT rating board needs to play the game before giving it its final rating. (OOC: I'm working on a new topic for this board, asking specifically for media ratings).

The ratings are:
ec (Educational content): Video games rated ec are available to people of all ages. They may contain material that could be considered objectionable. However, this material is present for educational purposes.
aa (All ages): These video games are apt for people of all ages. It may contain objectionable content for very sensitive people, but this will commonly be very low in amount and/or intensity.
10 (For people 10 and older): May contain unsuitable material for children under the age of ten. Children under 10 may buy and play these games, but parental supervision is recommended. Sometimes, these games don't contain objectionable material, but are rated 10 if they're too complex for smaller children to understand.
14 (For people 14 and older): May contain unsuitable material for children and teenagers under the age of fourteen. Children over 10 may buy and play these games, but parental supervision is recommended.
17 (For people 17 and older): May contain unsuitable material for children and teenagers under the age of seventeen. Teenagers over 14 may buy and play these games, but parental supervision is recommended.
r (Restricted): Contains unsuitable material for children and teenagers under the age of eighteen. They may only be bought with an ID that confirms that the buyer is 18 or older. MINCULT discourages parents and guardians to buy these games to children and teenagers younger than seventeen. For safety reasons, an adult cannot buy a restricted game if he or she is being accompanied by a child.

The five most popular gaming systems are:
1. SilTech Epsilon
2. SilTech Gamma
3. PC
4. PlayStation 4
5. Nintendo 3DS
The demonym of my country is Ostidian.
My country can be referred to as Fonidia and Osteyon or F&O. Fonidia, Osteyon, "Ostidia", the Union or the Great Union are also acceptable terms.
Full name: The Great Union of Fonidia and Osteyon. RP population: ~74 million. Most of the time, this nation reflects my political and social views
Male, 19 years old, Mexican with Italian heritage, Catholic, centrist, heterosexual. I'm also known as 'szmty'.

What is the status of video games in your nation?
Video games are an INCREDIBLY popular. Saying you play video games is equivalent to an American saying they like football or movies. A lot of the older generations consider video games to be very low-brow forms of art but the population boom in the 1970s resulted in an entire generation growing up on video games as a hip, edgy medium. Now, it's become its own sub-culture.

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned?
Games are rated similar to movies. However, like movies in Neo-Joseon, rating systems are turned over to the private sector, which resulted in the creation of a non-profit organization known as the Standard Parental Guidelines, which are as follows:

ED - Educational: Can contain suggestive content but only to the equivalent of an AAM game. But it must be educational AND marketed as such. So Civilization V would NOT get this rating.
AA - All Ages: It's for all ages. Content can be suggestive but neither explicit nor provoking. Some innuendos or inappropriate references can be sneaked in under the radar but that holds true for all mediums.
AAM - All Ages Minus: The ESRB Equivalent of a Teen game. Might have some violence, some sexual jokes, but nothing explicit. Anyone can buy these.
GE - Graphic or Explicit: ESRB Equivalent of an M rated game. Has explicit content or graphic violence but is not considered pornography. Most stores refrain from selling these games to minors without parental permission or some form of identification (A national ID card or driver's license is usually given out at Age 16, which is the recommended age for these games).
VE - Very Explicit: Porn games, enough said. This is the only rating that the government regulates and it's illegal to distribute this content to minors in any way, shape or form, though it is not illegal for minors to attain it through a non-human entity, such as downloading it as freeware.

After libertarian reforms enacted by the former Prime Minister and the current Emperor, it is illegal for any government official to censor information provided it is not a classified leak and it does not contain personal information of any single individual. So any and all video games are legal to be sold, provided they are rated.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here?
Incredibly popular. E-sports is a huge entertainment industry for games such as Starcraft or League of Legends. The incredibly large MMORPG "Feudalism," has players who are equivalent to minor celebrities. Tournaments are pretty common annually, from tournaments being held in schools or libraries to the massive, "Hanyang Four Corners," a nationwide gaming tournament for nearly every genre.

The top 3 biggest tournaments of the year get news coverage as well.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation?
As massive as our gaming industry is, consoles have never truly taken off. When gaming was first introduced in the 1970s as simple lines on a screen, it was built with one of the first home computers. And when the gaming industry boomed in the 1980s and 1990s, developers all assumed that people would play on their computers as the ratio of people to computers was slowly approaching 1:1.

Consoles have just NOW become popular with importing from foreign nations and the development of television as an interactive medium as opposed to being just for shows and movies.

The ideal gaming environment is not the living room with a couch and television like the Western world. It's instead a single PC with 1-8 controllers plugged in.

What is the status of video games in your nation?
Video games are a very popular form of entertainment and leisure, especially among the youth.

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned?
Video games are rated as such:
U (Universal) - completely clean and appropriate
    12 - for consumers 12 and up
    18 - for consumers 18 and up
    X - sexually graphic and/or extremely violent
Although this rating system exists, it is merely a parental guidance system. Hypothetically, if a 13-year-old were to play at 18 or X game, he or she would not be fined or arrested by the government, but he or she might face punishment from the parents.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here?
Yes. In fact, the city of San Diablo hosts the annual CyberCon festival. It is attended by almost every facet of the video games. Developers and fans alike mix and mingle for three days. Think of it as a cross between E3 and ComicCon.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation?
The Wii U and the Xbox One are currently the top dogs. PlayStation 4 has been lagging in sales due to the hacking controversy last December.

Very popular

Yes, from E (everyone), PG (parental guidance, 9+), T (teen, 13+), to M (mature, 18+)

In fact there are very rare to see game with M classification because games that showing violence is very unpopular here. the most popular genre for game is simulation like flight simulator, train simulator, Sims, Tropico etc. and mini games like candy crush saga or clash of clans for older generation to play with their smartphone or tab. other categories that quite popular too are racing games, Sports and RPG.

Our nation also love the local developer games because it contain educational and moral value like helping others , learning reading for toddler or
adventure game that occasionally ask the player to answer some calculus problems like differential or integral . parents also recommend their child to play our local games.

Yes

most common console for gaming is PC , other device also use to play light games is smartphone or Tab

Video Games are very popular here of all types. The only things that are banned in games are child pornography, and belittling the Victorious Decepticons (although there is at least one game where you play as a Decepticon, fighting changelings, C'Tann, humans, other Decepticons, and more. Only games that belittle the Decepticons are banned-other Decepticon games are fine.)

There is a rating system
GG-for small children
G-For anyone
PG 10-For 10 year olds and up
18-Very violent games for those aged 18 and over
X-Excessive violence or sex or both. Can involve rape and war crimes.

What is the status of video games in your nation?

Video games are an extremely popular form of entertainment in Ammerinia for all ages, especially with the development of new technology, thus allowing games to be even better quality than any time before. The games industry here is ranked as one of the largest in the world, and is a fairly large part of the economy.

Some more popular genres include MMORPGs, of which Ammerinia has a small amount of extremely popular ones, namely Battlecraft: GlobeQuest, XenoFall, and more.

Strategy (real time, turn based, and more) is another very popular type of game in Ammerinia, and with some more popular strategy games such as ZO-COM: Tail Of Five and Apocalypse: Prototype being the top initial selling. FPS/TPSs are also notable genres of games here, of which the most popular are Call of War: Battlefront and CounterOps: The Insurgency. Of course, there are many more popular genres in The Empire, but the best selling/grossing were listed above. Sandbox games are also fairly popular, with Minecraft 2.6 making the top 10 best sellers list.

The top 3 most popular platforms are:
1. DovaCom II (Console)
1. PC
1. NovaArk 720 (Console)

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned?

A rating system is in place, and all games published are required to be run through the system. The games are rated as such:

• (G)ENERAL - A game is suitable for all ages, no matter what.
• CHILDHOOD - Games rated CHILDHOOD are suitable for children under the age of 10.
• 10+ - A game is suitable for ages 10 and older.
• 14+/T - A game rated 14+ or T is suitable for most teenagers.
• 17+/S - A game rated 17+ or S is suitable for young adults.
• A18 - A18 games are restricted to ages 18 and up. They are not sold normally, and can only be bought online or by providing your credit-ident to a game kiosk in order to unlock them. It is considered illegal to sell an A18 game to a minor.

Some games are banned outright, but usually for only for national security or copyright reasons.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here?

Yes, very. There have been multiple international tournaments held in The Empire, as well as many, many local ones across the country.

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation?

Mobile games for the HoloChatter and other devices have been hugely popular among consumers. Handheld gaming-only platforms aren't very popular, as the general population wants to be able to have it on something that everyone uses, rather than having to buy a separate thing.

What is the status of video games in your nation? They were briefly popular for intermittent periods in the 90s and 00s but since 2008, more traditional recreational activities have dominated Oceanis' free time

Are they rated? Are certain games censored or banned? In 1995, Queen Arabela mandated a rating system before banning violent video games altogether in 2007.

Is the gaming industry (sales of video games, sales by tournaments, festivals, etc) popular here? Not really. In 1994, there were twelve video game stores (we're a small nation), this declined to seven by 2006 and two as of January 2015

How about consoles/handhelds? What kind of consoles/handhelds are available in your nation? Nintendo and Xbox 180 are the only known consoles
