Indeed, i don't see why you won't support Soledan independence, as it would weaken Carthage, because when they had Soled they would have considerable influence in the Indian Ocean area, and your nation probably wants to dominate that area for themselves. But maybe you would've done the same as Neo-Joseon (i like his plan) and support a more Aeuria-friendly independence movement, but then the Socialists became too strong and much more popular with the populace. But that doesn't mean you can't have any influence in Soled... Soled needs trading partners after all.

Sounds good. You're definitely right about dominating the Indian Ocean; Aeuria doesn't like any threats close to home, especially other empires. Similar to Neo-Joseon, Aeuria stopped most of its aggressive imperialist pursuits in the early 20th century due to modernization of formerly "tribal" lands. It's harder to colonize when the natives can shoot back lol. So instead they took on a more passive role, helping natives establish their own countries in exchange for natural resources and diplomatic ties. But like you said, we would've lost considerable influence at some point so we're not as influential in your country as we once were.

I imagine that the economy is so poor, and a large portion of the actual money comes from the land itself, which because of the cold weather doesn't yield very well, that there is also a poor healthcare service available to citizens. So, there is a rather high infant mortality rate, and because of the strong Nationalistic beliefs of the people, pure-blooded Dae families should continue their bloodlines as best as possible, kinda like Hitler's beliefs from the time of World War Two. The families average woman has about six kids in her lifetime, but on average only 5 out of those 6 would survive. It's kinda like the situation in many African countries where there is a poor economy and a high population, because families have loads of kids.
