Placing the republic on this scale is difficult. It could either be a 0 or a 4

Gender is a complete non issue. Mind transfer technology has made bodies kind of like clothing to us, and we can transfer into a body of a different gender as easily as a baseline human might change their robe. Most GEM bodies are female simply because that kind of GEM body was the first to be developed and released to general use owing to technical difficulties with the early development of male GEM bodies.

Most toilets in the republic are unisex and gendered toilets can normally only be found in starports and cities that cater to foreign tourists.

3.5. In terms of Imperial law, women are considered to be equals to men in every regard, and women seeking to serve the Empire directly are judged primarily on merit. Such laws theoretically also apply to local government in all member systems, however cultures are extremely varied and it is difficult to effectively enforce such laws across the entire galaxy.

A what-if version of the Galactic Empire from Star Wars after the end of the original trilogy, where both the Jedi and Sith are condemned in favor of a new Imperial Order. Features various elements of the Expanded Universe/Legends continuity.

Will work on drawing up some IC stats sooner or later. For anyone who's familiar with the Expanded Universe, stats will more or less be based around an amalgamation of the Imperial Remnant, Grand Admiral Thrawn's Empire of the Hand, and the Dark Empire.

3.8 It's the right of any private business owner to discriminate based on any number of factors. However, that's considered social suicide when it comes to sexism. Women are considered equal to men in all aspects, but different in their physiology only. There's segregation in athletics for that very reason, as well as reluctance to put women on the battlefield.

In industry, women are more dominating in nurturing fields such as teaching or nursing while men are more heavily dominating in business. However, if sexism can be proven in any field, the woman can sue and have a near certain chance of receiving reparations of some sort.

4.5 I would say, as females make for about 70% of the population. Although males are not opressed they are not a very common sight and women hold most of the influential positions in both private companies and the government. Sexism was never popular in South New Caledonia, and it was completly exterminated during the Communist rule, there are cases of males becoming influential people as all genders are equal and only intellignece matters in Nou society.

As usual, Melvonia's stance on the issue is somewhat difficult for outsiders to grasp. Female Melvonians are of course in no way prevented or hindered from entering whatever sphere of economic, social or political activity they may wish. That said, however, the fact is that in common with Melvonians of every gender, overwhelmingly, they don't wish. Traditional sources of male privilege and prestige in other cultures - the military, heavy industry, revolutionary politics, speculative finance - are either unknown in Melvonia or have left the populace so profoundly unimpressed that they may as well have been, with the result that we are not lumbered with a particularly heavy burden of historical sexism which might form "pockets".

The exception, famously, concerns the Most Serene Republican Navy of Melvonia. This is the single (barely) functioning wing of our armed services, and some years ago they took the drastic and radical step of actually buying a boat. It was never decided as a matter of Ducal policy that the Senior Service would be staffed entirely by strapping young ladies with a taste for chick-rock, a knack for DIY and disturbingly similar haircuts; but the all-girl crew of the MSS Cherry Chapstick just seems to have evolved that way, and we find we rather like it.

4.5, Due to the amounts of Emperors who where female, the laws around sex ism are highly in forced. A unique thing in the empire is that it goes both ways, charges are not as heavy as most criminal charges are in the empire and are usually just a heavy fine.

The scale should really be symmetrical, from women as beasts of burden to men as beasts of burden.

We're probably 0.5. There are genders, but more than two, and our scientists are constantly coming up with more. Sexes are not legally recognized in any way. Men, women and all other sexes living in our country are more or less living in a hell, with plenty of rights, but their lives are still miserable.

Wintanceastre would be classified as a class 4 on this scale. The country gave women the right to vote in 1929, although sexism existed on a large scale through the 1960s. Gradually the government has cracked down upon it, and equality has become more, and more commonplace.

Since the scale goes from 1 (completely male dominated) to 4 (equality) to 5 (slightly female dominated), modifying it so it's symmetric between men and women...
0-Your country has no genders for whatever reason

1-more or less as beasts of burden or worse. Women living in your country are more or less living in a hell, with no or very few rights, and their lives are miserable.

2-Things are a little better, but not by much. Women may get paid jobs, but these are low paid and generally hard, unpleasant or both. Women are deemed legally inferior to males in every way. There are a few males who do treat women well, and loving couples do exist but they are rare.

3 If the country is a democracy, women do have the vote, and they have at least a chance of getting decent jobs, but sexual harassment is rife. Domestic violence is illegal, but not that many offenders are convicted.

4 Women are legally equal with males, and domestic violence, sexual crimes and sexism are strongly cracked down on, but there are hidden pockets of sexism around.

5 If the country is a democracy, men do have the vote, and they have at least a chance of getting decent jobs, but sexual harassment is rife. Domestic violence is illegal, but not that many offenders are convicted.

6-Things are a little better, but not by much. Men may get paid jobs, but these are low paid and generally hard, unpleasant or both. Men are deemed legally inferior to females in every way. There are a few females who do treat men well, and loving couples do exist but they are rare.

7-more or less as beasts of burden or worse. Men living in your country are more or less living in a hell, with no or very few rights, and their lives are miserable.

... would definitely put Orangeistan at a 7.

4ish.

Wulfcastlean women are considered equals in every way.

Woman in Wulfcastlean society are raised to be tough, strong, and capable, able to hold their own physically or mentally against any man.

As a result, no laws exist to specifically protect women, and it is not taboo for a man to physically fight a woman.

This 0-5 system doesn't really fit the way women are treated and behave within the Merchant Republics.

Women in the Merchant Republics are equal in all respects to the law, and are generally held as equals in all aspects of society. That said, gender roles do exist within the Republics to a extent not usually seen within more "feminist" nations; in the strongest sense, women are considered the backbone of Mercatorum community, and men; the workers. Deviation from this norm is common enough that it does not raise eyebrows, but it is still very much an existent force and presence in society.

Very few Mercatorum men will ever work for a female CEO; but those that do understand she earned her position by being more than deserving of her post. Respect is not something women struggle to find in the corporate world if they demonstrate they want to be there; and sexual harassment is not tolerated in any systematic sense; women are essentially treated as persons, not equal but according to individual merit.

It would best illustrate the point that the heads of the majority of our social organizations; the social guilds which define Mercatorum life, are women, but only a small minority of industrialists and corporate leaders.

Bayonetta would be a 5 on that scale. In our nation, women are in power and men are legally and systematically oppressed. Men are not permitted to: vote in elections, run for political office, own land, get paid more than 50% of what a woman makes for the same job, and hold many jobs. In addition, males who are married to a woman are considered her property and must be accompanied by either their wife or a female family member at all times. (Married males are not permitted to hold jobs) In addition, there is widespread social discrimination against men and the "bumbling man" is a common trope depicted in media.
The Queendom of Bayonetta is a virtual absolute monarchy ruled by Bayonetta where females rule and men are considered inferior and systematically oppressed. Our population is capped at 117 million.

We reject that scale as biased toward a view of woman's place in society that is unnatural, sinful and harmful to women. In the Kingdom of Saintland, we recognize that women should be something more than just counterfeit men. We recognize that God intended for women to have and raise children. We also recognize that women are happiest when they are free from the burden of having to make their own choices, so we firmly accept that wives should look to their husbands for proper guidance and obey him, unless he tells them to sin. This is what the True Church teaches.

3 -- Women are treated well but not well enough. We still have some inequality in the salary and they're still sexually harrassed but the police is starting to crack down on those who sexually abuse women more than before.
