Tarterros was founded on May 1, 1844 with the unification of various city-states. Some of these cities were forcefully unified into the Duchy of Maresse in the years prior. Maresse's conquest of several small independent towns prompted fears of a new wave of Maresse conquests; other Tar-majority cities were facing labor and financial difficulties and chose to unify peacefully with the Duchy instead of suffer conquest. Upon unification, the name Tarterros was adopted, or "land of the Tar people," and the country styled itself as a Grand Duchy.

The Duchy of Maresse itself was founded in the dark ages, with first recorded mention dating to 1153 in writings by Tar poet Coronus.

The first King of Thervingia, Airmins Sigismundaussunus, was crowned on the 6th of July, 1253. After a bitter history of conflict, conquest, and inner turmoil, Thervingia of today became an independent state on the 11th of March, 1990.

[The Antalyian Republic]

Antalyia as a nation was discovered by the Palmbukian Empire in the early 1400s and was united under Palmbukian rule for hundreds of years to come. On 17 October 1833 the Antalyian people began an uprising opposing Palmbukian rule, and without much need for fighting the colony officially became independent from the empire on 8 January 1834. This date is recognized internationally as when the nation was founded.

For over one hundred years the people of the new, independent Antalyia lived peacefully among each other, until a revolt against the government was staged in New Prague by thousands of protesters who eventually grew to become the Nationalists. On 13 June 1962 the First Antalyian Civil War broke out which was fought for six years between the Nationalist and Republican factions of the country. On 28 September 1968 the Nationalists claimed victory as the Republican survivors surrendered, and a new Antalyia was born. This date is believed to be the official founding of the nation by Nationalists and nationalist sympathizers.

However, the Republicans of the country were disgusted with the way the new government were treating their people. The new nation was doomed to fall. A series of peaceful protests began in March 1978 in the cities of New Prague, Pickford and Valara. These protests become very violent as the government failed to listen, and 14 May 1980 marked the start of the Second Antalyian Civil War. After five long years of fighting, the Republicans were deemed victors following the government's eventual surrender on 25 February 1985. This date is officially recognized by the current government of the Antalyian Republic to be the nation's founding date.
