I was thinking basing it on the turret of a Leo 2A4, but that ended up lolfat and fugly.
Any ideas?

Get rid of Porches petrol-electric transmission and there would be plenty of room at the back for the engine

I am not saying you can't fit the engine. I am saying that you need an open surface above it for the radiators.

I really like the top one. The lines you have given it suggest speed. Very nice.
The baby tank below is pretty cute but I think it would look better if it had the turret of its big brother.
I think it might be fun to make a 3D model of the top tank. Would you mind?

Jagdtiger? (Fordjagdtiger)
I think the Jagdtiger had a longer "Casemate" (I have no idea what they called where they put the gun, because most German TD's tended to be turretless). Not to mention, it was based upon a Tiger II chassis, as the Ferdinand was based on the Porsche Tiger.

Casemate is the correct term.
And I'm not sure which has the longer casemate as I can't find any measurements for either. I assume the Jagdtigers would be longer though since the Ferdinand couldn't fit the Pak 44

Quite. The Ferdinand (also known as the Elefant) had the Pak 43. It wasnt exactly well liked by its crews, so i have heard.

The Ferdinand was the first model. The Elefant was the second, which had the MG 34, Commander's cuppola, thicker frontal armour, wider tracks and neato burrito Zimmerit. I guess the names can be interchangable but it's good to know the differences between the two.
I hope you didn't just say the Pak 43 wasn't well liked. If you mean the vehicle, you're pretty much right. Porches petrol-electric transmission was probably one of the most unreliable vehicle parts of the war. That shit was so bad. They would have been happy with the protection it offered though. They just couldn't maneuver to face the enemy all that well.

I meant the tank itself, the Pak-43 was absolutely gorgeous .
And as this photo demonstrates

IT IS A VERY BIG GUN.
