Not entirely sure what you mean by this, but the motor used to power the hydraulics is the same motor that's used to move the vehicle. Most earthmoving equipment using hydraulics are rated between 50 and 200kw.

I'm working on a wheeled APC and cargo truck which both share a large number of parts (its based off the BTR-152) and I'm curious if you could, with the technology available in the 1960s design a diesel engine able to run on 'bunker fuel' or extremely low quality diesel

Thanks Mizrad. I'll check them out but I can't imagine actually drawing them given the scale I'm working in. I'll probably include it in the write-up though.

You don't perhaps recall how big the motors were to power the hydraulics on these kind of machines.

No problem! Also unfortuantely no I don't as I wasn't allowed to drive them :p . I'm assuming it's gotta be on the internet somewhere though.

Yeah I was under the impression that there were separate motors dedicated to just powering the hydraulics.
Having the vehicle engine powering the hydraulics makes everything much more feasible. I should now be able to stick a whole section of my sappers in there. Sweet.

Well folks, time to introduce you all to my shit concept designs that I pixel-arted out of boredom.

Banshee Armored Transport Vehicle

TAURUS 5th Gen Prototype Vehicle

So the top one is supposed to be some sort of ATV and the lower one is an MBT design I'm working on. I've no idea why, but I get the feeling they're either waaay bigger than they need to be, or are in need of some obvious editing. I'm thinking of sketching these fuckers out though first so I know what exactly I'm going for. Note I'm using MSP to make these, so any sort of actual cohesive art will be done only after Hell freezes over or when I get so bored I'm willing to do so instead of shoot myself...

The first one is definitely larger than it's supposed to be; it looks to be about twice the height of the soldiers it's supposed to carry. Whereas if you look at, say, a Stryker, it's only slightly taller than the troops it's supposed to carry since they're supposed to be seated while traveling.

For the tank, it looks oddly proportioned (way too long), but without a scale it's hard to tell if it's too "big."

If I recall correctly. And what I'm saying is that the Tiger I's transmission system is a more complicated matter than what any modern MBT's is, and using it doesn't net you anything positive either. Matters would be different if it was Shermans (or T-34's), which with new guns or new optics would be viable until the 1980's for a nation lacking funds. And not only are you dealing with the complex logistics nightmare that were the Pz VI Tiger, you are also, if I recall correctly, dealing with the logistics of Centurions, Chieftains, NS tanks, Asad Babils and Churchills.

Yea, when I was fighting him in International Incidents, his military was outdated, his AA consists of 111mm and 99mm Flak guns, what use are those against my fighters and super sonic bombers.

There's no Flak guns though, their zu-23s or KPVs.

Where does it state that Iraqi AAA did not include such pieces?
Anyhow the critical point is that guns, without advanced radar direction, not only struck but downed coalition (specifically US) combat aircraft.

Large-calibre guns have approximate muzzle velocity to most autocannons and have a much larger lethal radius. Simple clockwork direction common to WWII-era AAA, or simple reflector sights, would be adequate to engage non-manoeuvring low-altitude targets.

Yes there are.

The Iraqi Army possessed several thousand 100mm and 57mm AAA guns, and the associated fire control radars (Fire Can and Flap Wheel).

Not really.

Losses were minimal, given the sortie rates, and most only occurred because many aircraft were still attempting to fly at low level where they could be hit with AAA. After the Gulf War low level tactics were abandoned and fighters now normally operate above AAAs effective ceiling.
