Not a big deal. In fact, it's 100% legal. Last year, the Directorate even enacted a law banning the censorship of swearing in TV. Since then, watching the News became even more interesting. A month ago, an online petition named "Freedom To Have A Damn Dirty Mouth" was created, calling for total freedom of swearing "anywhere, anytime and whatever the situation". Currently, 348,563,192 people have already signed the petition.

We do have the regular "swear words" that had arisen in the Human Continents. However, during our isolation from them, we had developed swear words of our own. Note that this is a tiny excerpt out of the swearing words.

  • Wiaetisksemmis - Similar to the swear word "d*ck", wiaetisksemmis is used as an inappropriate name to call someone, if they are acting in the art of douchebaggery.
  • Dedt - Damn.
  • Loirg - Similar to b*tch and bastard.
  • Ellsen - Similar to asshole.

Kraslavians have many swear words. There are two traditions of swearing. Normal everyday swear when you are just irritated and this kind of "poetic" swear, elaborated and used for example toward enemy leaders durring war.

Due to gramatic complexity of Kraslavian I can't list all popular swear words - but they are based on some keywords:

Jebac - to fuck, but also to stink. Used also in "job tvoju mat" - "fuck your mother" what is Kraslavian form of "fuck you"
Pierdolic - to fuck, but also talk dull, stupid things.
Kurwa - bitch, but also as "damn!". But some vulgar people replece comma with that and put it here and there in sentences
Chuj, kutas - Dick, vulgar for penis.
Pizda, cipa - vulgar for vagina
Pedal, cvel - faggot
Govno - shit
Srac - to make shit
Cholera, Cholera jasna - Damn!
Suka - bitch
Duren - moron, idiot

The people of my nation are free to swear/curse anywhere, any time and at anyone... but usually people don't because they will get a smack in the mouth.

Swearing is entirely part of mainstream culture in Allanea. Several forms of swear words - from English and Russian - are integrated in Allanean English.

Further, many Allaneans are capable of speaking a supernatural tongue called Free Speech - a language formed entirely of swear words, spoken at an inhumanly rapid speed (several hundred curse words a minute). People not fluent in this magical tongue are not capable of making out most words, but they typically understand instinctively that something inhumanly rude and coarse has been uttered. (They might make out a curse word or two).

Swear words use to bother a good portion of our peoples when we were a conservative Theocracy. Now we are too enveloped in freedom to take much offense to such words. And indeed they have lost much of their luster because of this.

Swear words are meant to convey extreme emotions, which one can only learn to contain through self-adjustment.
We don't see any reason why people shouldn't swear once in a while, and it's totally normal.

The Geadish language has its swear words, but they're not considered as taboo as their English. On the other hand, some 'curses', are considered equally offensive, sometimes worse. These include telling someone to commit suicide, incest or bestiality. Mild swear words may be heard on a children's program, but "Go hang yourself" would be bleeped out.

It is understood that some use swearing as a word filler, others for being heard and as insults.

Swearing in your nation

Postby Bolshevikstan » Sat Dec 06, 2014 10:11 am

Swearing is a huge deal in the Bolshevikstanian culture. A man can only swear when he has come of age, and women can swear after they have been married.
