Kind of an amalgam of so-called third world socialist uprisings and a group of other nations(Think Latin America etc. with a dash of India) in a parallel universe
As an editor I seam to spend an awful lot of thyme going threw issues and checking that they're no oblivious errars. Its a tough job but someone's got too do it!

Basically a mix of China and Europe, along with some Prussian knighty culture and a democratic communist political structure.
“In the practical art of war, the best thing of all is to take the enemy's country whole and intact; to shatter and destroy it is not so good. So, too, it is better to recapture an army entire than to destroy it, to capture a regiment, a detachment or a company entire than to destroy them. Hence to fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.”

That sounds cool :)

I based my nation off the "Alpha Legion" from the Warhammer universe. But with less of the martial aspect and more of the focus on having an intelligent nation that is mystical.

When I first founded this nation, I didn't really think of what my nation would be based on and ended up just giving it a name that was, at first, nothing but some stupid Pink Floyd reference (I do like the band, though that relationship was hurt by the fact that all of the teenage fangirls are basically worshiping the band just to be "edgy", much like what happened with Nirvana nowadays. The band is still excellent, though), while the nation itself was just some generic "heavy interest in the police force" country.

Nowadays, due to getting research on exactly where the partial-namesake town of San Tropez was, a comment a friend of mine made when I was talking to him about NationStates and the nation that I play as, and because of how interesting the idea sounds, the nation of Seamus-Tropez ended up being based on how the city of Dubai would be if it were a French country instead of a United Arab Emirate; a small economic and cultural powerhouse with a heavily-funded police force and a keen interest in privatized corporate industry.

Running such a nation, in my opinion, is as fun as you may expect.
