What did you base your nation on?

• A mixture of Japan, the United Kingdom, and Ireland for a political model ( not initially planned, but had to be added due to close proximity to the country. I couldn't fit in the island landmass to look alright in the Atlantic).
• Mostly having recent history based upon Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and the Troubles in Ireland, with influences from the recent War in Donbass.

[The Volkartian Consortium]

It was based on nothing. This nation is an original work, even if it outright steals some terms until I think of better ones.

It takes inspiration from the following:
The Culture, Eclipse Phase, Blindsight/Echopraxia, and LessWrong are the big four. Eclipse Phase and LessWrong are the big AI/AGI inspirations, while the Culture and Blindopraxia are the big alien inspirations (the first for the more humanlike aliens, the second for the inhuman ones). All four also contribute to transhumanism, the sociocultural implications thereof, and the political-economic system of the Consortium. The Culture and Eclipse Phase also inform the more narrative parts of the Consortium, while Blindopraxia and LessWrong are the more scientific and realistic inspirations.

Elements of Sword of the Stars may also seep in by no conscious act of mine, simply because the universe is so well-developed and interesting.

Also, Author Appeal. Nothing even close to outright erotica or cybersex though. I have other websites for that and plan to keep such things there.

Part Satoshi Urushihara fantasy world, part Mizuryu Kei Land, part E.R.O.S., and part ancient China. The rest is original.

I based it mainly on the United States, but with slightly alternate history and different culture. Zitran is the national language, as opposed to English, and is based on German with a hint of Dutch.

It started out as if Ireland and Uruguay had a love child. It's still like that but with some Aztec and ancient Celtic spices thrown in, along with Cuba.

Politically, I'm still fleshing it out but it's more of a classical Republic (such as Rome, without the Latin)

Socially and economically, it varies depending on the area. The home system is very consumerist and generally self-interested. While the second system Ghalil and the outer colonies tend to be more community oriented. Other than the pirates, mining and research Corporations that lie in between and on the outskirts. They tend to cause issues. So, the U.S. in the late 1800s, early 1900s.
