The grapes are used in a variety of wines and other liquors crucial/popular in noble society, the industry of which is dominated by the House of Longweather. Pumpkins are grown though they're mostly used for ceremonial, symbolic, and decorative purposes so that one of the Emperor's titles holds true. Potatoes are a stable crop for the population of the Empire. Sugarcane has many uses as a flavoring agent, food, occasional biofuel for rural areas, and for rum which is the favored drink for backroom deals amongst the highest of nobles.
