The democratists around the world might view the Federated Realms as a dictatorship. Our king, however, points out that, while we are an autocracy, we are not a dictatorship. Civil liberties are held in high regard among the Federated Realms and, reflecting this, her people enjoy extensive freedom to conduct their lives as they see fit without unnecessary Crown intervention. The State, administered by the Crown, is a restricted institution that rejects the notion of intervention into the personal lives of citizens by government authorities. Democracy is viewed as a manifest immoral institution - liberty, on the other hand, itis elevated as the governments primary concern.

Absolute monarchy. Well it's a bit more complex than that but that's the basic premise.

We are a democracy, or at least we let our citizens think that. We have some elections, but the current president and any companies with enough money to persuade the president get most of the choice. For the most part the president gets to spew as much propaganda as it would like so they or the person they want to win losing the election almost never happens, but even when it does the president can easily change the ballots as the only person who is given all the information on how to access and change the ballots is the president.

We are a single party democracy, with Triumvirs elected from the Dark Council. Triumvirs rule until death or impeachment by BOTH other Triumvirs. The Dark Council has legislative powers as well, whereas the Triumvirate is in charge of executive and judicial proceedings.

Actually, to define it better: Democratic Republic; Semi-Soviet Democracy with Communist Economics.

Each city has an elected leader, called the Provost. Every Provost in a district chooses their delegates for the leader of the District, called the Prorektor. Each Prorektor chooses their delegates for the leader of their Oblast, called the Starosta. Each of these positions has executive power over their respective regions. The Premier and Vice Premier have executive power over the entire Nation, and are elected separately, by the people directly. The Premier then appoints his Cabinet Officials.

Paralleling the Executive Branch, each city has an elected legislative leader, called the Zakonprovost. Each Zakonprovost chooses their delegates for the leader of the District, called the Zakonprorektor. Each Zakonprorektor chooses their delegates for the leader of their Oblast, called the Zakonstarosta. Each of these positions has legislative power over their respective regions. The Soveshchaniye Officials in charge of the legislative branch are elected separately, by the people directly. (The closest equivalent to in the US to the Soveshchaniye would be Congress.)

All positions in the Judicial branch is entirely elected by the people. The level of power in the courts goes from City Court, to District Court, to Regional Court (Oblast Court), and the to Supreme Court.

Legislation is created by the Soveshchaniye (Legislative Branch), and checked for contradictions with the Deklaratsiya Osnovnykh Prav Cheloveka (lit. "Declaration of Basic Human Rights) by the Judicial Branch. It is then moved onto the Premier's desk for examination. If the Premier approves it, it becomes law. If the Premier vetoes it, then it is sent back to the Soveshchaniye. If it passes with a 70% majority on another vote, it is passed as a law. This form of checks and balances parallels many other Democracies.

The economic policy of the USSP is a modified form of Communism. All aspects (i.e., free healthcare, housing, welfare, and higher education) remain the same except for ownership. The houses and plots of land in Petrokovia are government-owned, but all other belongings, such as cars, furniture, games, etc. are owned personally (i.e., the government owns your house, but not your TV). Everyone in Petrokovia is guaranteed a house, a job, and healthcare, no matter what they make.

Taxes in Petrokovia go towards construction, repair, cleaning, and maintenance of roads, buildings, parks, etc. They also run the sanitation crews and emergency services, prisons, transportation, and education (including colleges).

The tax rate (despite what the NS front page says) is adjusted for income. The rate minimum is around 12% for very low incomes, and the maximum is about 40% for very high incomes. The average tax rate is 27%.

For the most part, Petrokovia has open trading routes with no tariffs, though because of the distance some items may have to travel, usually it is cheaper for a Petrokovian to buy non-imported goods. Somethings, however, are actually cheaper to buy imported.

Petrokovia's government has a VERY strict policy of exporting more than it imports, thus never being in debt. Actually, Petrokovia makes enough from exporting to also cover any government waste and still have a little left over.

The majority of their trade is with The Republic of Exaequatio, Aaresa, Almiana, and Russia.

Due to Petrokovian trade policies and Petrokovia's abundance of natural resources, the USSP could be entirely self-sufficient, if need be.
