We don't have a "national currency". Anybody who wants to can issue their own currency, though the denomination used is almost universally the USD. We don't use any symbol for it; it's just called the USD.

The currency of the Cylon Remnant, as you humans define it as such, is the cubit, only because it's the closest thing to a "currency" that we know of. The humans used it before we nuked the Twelve Colonies, and they used it in Galactica's Fleet while we were hunting them up until them and the traitors destroyed the Colony and most of our empire. In any case, since we do not know of any other equivalent currency for trade, the cubit is the most logical option. The symbol is the old Colonial insignia. Why we don't bother modifying it to fit our current symbol is a mystery even to Number One.

Our currency, the TiClevo, is abbreviated as TTC (Trefeqian TiClevo) and the symbol for TiClevos is simply a "T", or "C" for Clevos (TiClevo coins).
