In Meowopia, the only crimes that are punishable by death are murder and treason. Murder is only a crime at the state level, so the states can choose. (Meowopia has a federalist system of government in which the federal government exercises relatively little power and the states decide most matters.) Generally, it is lethal injection, firing squad, or hanging.

Lucky for us Followers of Quonce, our state animal, the Megalodon, is always hungry for human flesh. The Megalodon lives in the waters surrounding our island and is summoned with a drop of human blood in the water. Then the accused is thrown into it's open jaws. If the shark throws him or her up, he or she is not guilty. This has never happened though. We are very good at accusing people here in Quoncetown.
