I have an idea for a lol!FT round - basically a big slug like, say, a 15mm round which is fired from a hilariously compensated weapon. The weapon is basically a big blunt explosive round, but it has a micro shield generator in it which forms a spitzer ahead of the round, enabling it to penetrate like an APFSDST before exploding inside like a HE round.

Hilariously, this means there may be people buying Ulfran surplus ammo around' these parts then. Because .650 Bore Ruirekk is an old Ulfran service rifle cartridge that quickly gained A), a bottlenecked upgrade in the late mid-late 1870s, and said bottlenecked round continued to get upgraded, thereby staying the Ulfran legacy cartridge. Whereas, the straight-walled case model, the "Ruirekk"(named after a hero), took a similar course, as a revolver cartridge, eventually leading to a ".65 Automatic Pistol" cartridge, of which I think you lot will get a chuckle and a shudder out whenever I feel motivated to art that thing into life.

I picked .65 just because I'd seen how hilarious it was compared to the pistol. Might increase to .75 for maximum GAWD-EMPRAH OF MAHNKAHND. I can see Ulfran ammo being stopped at the Kouralian border ICly and examined thoroughly for lulz.

Looking at the idea of four standard cartridges for Calla's small arms:
9x19mm for handguns (Simply put, it's a defensive cartridge. Only used in handguns. 9mm works fine.)

6.5x46mm cased for Assault Rifles, LMGs, and DMRs. 10.7mm base diameter, 65mm maximum overall length, designed with a 130 grain projectile in mind, designed to achieve 2550 fps, for a muzzle energy of 1870 ft-lbs. Idea based off of the concept of the "Universal Cartridge." Design specifications quiet similar to the 7x46mm idea, but smaller bullet diameter and a reduced cartridge base diameter. Reduced cartridge base diameter allowing for slightly more compact magazine dimensions, while still retaining superior ballistics in comparison to 7.62x51mm at extended ranges with less drop, and more retained energy past 210 or so meters. Maximum effective range is around 750m. Traditional cased, as when used in magazine fed firearms, Case Telescoped requires a far larger diameter, which leads to either: Drastically longer magazines, or less ammunition per magazine.

8.6x63mm (Norma Magnum)for Range Extended Machineguns and dedicated Sniper rifles. Frequently used in vehicle mounted MGs, pushing their effective range out past 1000m. (To be honest, I'm waffling on this. Tempted to go smaller, 8mm or 8.2mm. 4000+ ft-lbs of muzzle energy seems perhaps a bit excessive, But something in the 3000-3500 range kind of sounds appealing.)

13.2x106mm deigned for heavy machineguns and anti-material work. Essentially bridging between 12.7x99 and 14.5x114mm.

Thoughts and criticisms?

Thought= I have no idea about these numbers because they're all mostly* Imperial.
Criticism= All Most* of your numbers are Imperial.

Real thought:
Using Caseless Telescoped rounds I've managed to make my 6.5 GPC 0.2mm slimmer than the 6.5 Grendel cartridge, whilst giving it 386.33 J more E_k, as well as 65 ms^-1 more velocity, (with a 7.71 gram projectile for both Grendel and GPC).
So I don't see how CT rounds = a massive increase in diameter.
The real problem with CT ammo is getting a proper gas-seal on the chamber, since you don't have an expanding case to help you.
