You think that's bad?

Tsavonian rations haven't changed much since 1860 or so.

Edit: Shit, top-paged. Have a revolver.

Actually, since your troops are immortal, recoil isn't as much of an issue, just a discomfort. Make 'em fire cut-down and necked-up (to 25mm) Vulcan shells from massive bullpup rifles.
Impact-fuzed HE, you get a lot of range, you can cram a fair amount of shells into magazines for your immortals from your upscaled RK62.

Discomfort is one thing, breaking your collar-bone is another.

Oh, I got it. What was that assault rifle with the overslung grenade launcher?

The K11 is the best modern example, although allegedly the ZH-05 is lighter, if only single shot.

Yes, however, that's partly dependent on whose 1860's rations we're talking about here.

That said, Cyprum, as it is, it sounds like you're going to have problems with things such as scurvy and malnutrition. I'd advise changing said rations.

You should give them all one standard rifle and say "if you don't like it too bad" because that's what every real army does.

The post-script here is of course that you do not want to send 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm NATO ammunition to a unit requiring 7.62x39 mm and 7.62x54 mm ammo. With this many rifles, the chances of a mixup due to Murphy's Law fucking your logistics up increases massively with every different bullet you have to provide. If your trucks bearing the much needed ammo for a unit with almost none left you do not want them to take a wrong turn and deliver NATO spec. to them if they need AK ammo. If you only had AK ammo this would not be an issue.

And what do we do with the 'special'' driver, who shows up with a truckload of .30 carbine?

Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Half of the point of "OICW", today at least, is that they offer a high-precision capability to engage point targets at long range. This task does not require the firepower of a 40mm system, and allows more ammunition to be carried.

Its funny because people still are and the K11, iirc, is in limited active service.

Also the XM-25, not a OCIW, but still using a 25(20?)mm grenades has been super fucking loved by US troops. The only people that have refused the weapon refused it because it weighed to much for them.

However regular US troops loved it. Those issued it even quit carrying their M4s with them.

Until a butthurt South American starts complaining that "American" can mean anyone from the Americas.

Though at that point it is often best to just eject from the discussion.

What do you guys think of the concept of precision guided munitions companies at brigade level?

http://defense-and-freedom.blogspot.de/ ... y.html?m=1

They would provide both direct and indirect fires against point targets, and would use a variety of munition types (anti-tank, thermobaric, HE frag, etc.)

Sort of a hybrid between an anti-tank company and a rocket artillery battery.

Chinese MREs provide 1049 kikocalories via biscuits, more traditional gravies, etc. They also issued an older ration with something like schmalzfleisch in it. The Taiwanese and Japanese still issue the old canned fare.

I would personally put PGM specialist forces at a high echelon of command, to be requested by lower unit commanders.
Their integrated fire support should already be sufficient for almost all applications.

What lol

Why are you eating in combat at all.

You eat when your buddy watches your position, so you can eat and not get taken by surprise, when you're done your buddy eats while you cover him.

The second something even remotely wrong happens you drop your food and get ready to get attacked. Even if your meal is now covered in dirt.

Don't worry son, the dirt never killed anyone. I think
