To become a citizen is simple: Pay taxes. Living here, being born here, all these things are optional. We have citizens who have never physically set foot in the country.

In Lolloh, you are concerned a citizen if you can apply for it. This involves going to the Foreign Office and giving the clerk a note saying you are a citizen. After a quick background check to make sure that you are not a criminal, you will be issued a passport and any other documents requested, provided there is proof for them. There is a 1 month wait to get you listed in the national database, and then you will be issued a welfare card that allows you to receive welfare payments from the government. The fiscal year after you are accepted for citizenship, you will be required to fill in a tax form. Everything else is instantly in place when you become a citizen.

All those born in Asterdan are considered Asterdanian, unless their parents are from a foreign land. Then they are called Asterdanian-Born. Asterdanian-Born are given an Identification Number, and are given all the rights of an Asterdanian should they enter Asterdan in the future. Their parents are given a special card, and the purpose of the card is explained (grants instant citizenship whenever the Asterdanian-Born enters the country).

If the parents wish to leave the child, it is considered Asterdanian, and if they wish to live here on temporary citizenship, then the child will be considered Asterdanian.

If their parents are Asterdanians who are on vacation in foreign lands or are in the military, they are given citizenship. The 'Parenthood Clause' extends for five years, meaning that if the parents have not lived in Asterdan for five years when the child is born, then the child is not considered Asterdanian, though if they can prove this is the case, it is easier for them to gain citizenship.

If a person applies for Temporary Citizenship, and is accepted, they will be an Asterdanian citizen for seven years. They are allowed to reapply twice, and after the second, they are given the choice to become an official citizen or to leave the country. If they have children, the child is considered an Asterdanian.

There are two types of Immigration laws. Class A and Class B.

Class A: Class A immigrants are those who are moving to Asterdan of their own free will. They are given Limited Citizenship, which means they are protected as a citizen and taxed as a citizen but they cannot vote. A Class A immigrant must live in Asterdan for five years, hold down a single job for at least two of those years and perform at least 1500 hours of charity and community service. After the five year tenure, should the two conditions be met, they are allowed to take a comprehensive history test and a comprehensive law test. Should they pass with an 85% or higher, they are granted citizenship. Should one or neither of the two conditions be met, or they score less than 85% on the tests, they are escorted out of the country, given and identification number and not allowed to try again for seven years.

Class B: Class B immigrants are refugees. They are given Temporary Citizenship. During the seven years, they must hold down a single job for at least two years, perform 8000 hours of charity and community service, and have taken at least three Asterdanian Law classes. After the seven years, if these three conditions are met, they are given the chance to take a comprehensive law test. Should they pass with 84.5% they are given full citizenship. Should one or more of the conditions not be met or they score less than 84% on their test they are given three choices:
Return to their home country
Enter an Indentured Servitude for five years, when they will be able to take the test again
Become a part of the Asterdanian Military, where they will be put on the front lines.

The Imperial Dominion of Longweather has multiple levels of citizenship and privilege. For most instances, birth by Alor parents is required. Unless one is born to nobility (known as aristocrats or aristos by the lower classes), that citizenship is provisional. Those born to lowborn Alor are required to take an extensive citizenship test on subjects ranging from societal, cultural, historical, and linguistic knowledge.

Besides this, the people and cultures that immigrate or are conquered by the Empire are given the title/demonym/citizenship-level of Dominated. The Dominated are eligible to apply for full citizenship and status as fellow Alor after a minimum 50 years after being under the Empire's dominion. It varies but typically occurs once their native culture has been mostly consumed by the Alor culture.

In order to be a full Citizen (more frequently called a "Subject") of Avalon one must comply with at least two of the following requirements:
-Be born in Avalon.
-Born to Avalonish parents; both, if neither of them was born in Avalon.
-Speak fluently at least one of the three languages of the country (English, Welsh, Avalonian).
-Be granted the right to Citizenship by Royal decree.
-Live in Avalon for more than twenty years.
-Marry a Knight/Dame, Druid or Lord/Lady of the Realm.

Complying means one must renounce any other citizenships held. Only Diplomats, Knights/Dames, Druids or Lords/Ladies of the Realm are permitted dual or multiple Citizenship.

As it is a rather difficult thing to get, the government created a second category: Permanent Residents. Permanent Residents have most rights and duties associated with Citizenship but they aren't eligible for government roles or military ranks. To earn Permanent Residency one must comply with at least two of the following requirements:

-Live in Avalon for more than five years.
-Invest more than ₡5,000,000 (₡1=1 Silver Coin= 1, 97 NS dollars) in Avalon.
-Marry an Avalonian.
-Be granted the right to Residency by Royal or Lordly decree.
-Pass a test about Avalonish culture, life and basic laws and customs.

A third category, Casual Residents (or simply "Residents"), was created for those willing to live, study, work and pay taxes in Avalon during short periods of time (with a 5 years limit). The only requirements are: passing a criminal records check, signing a ceremonial Oath of Cordiality and being registered in the Resident Census which includes Insurance Number, Tax Code and National Healthcare System registration. These residents pay less taxes and can apply for Permanent Residency later on, if they desire so.

You take a test, if you pass and you are ether born in Insaeldor or have immigrated and have no violent criminal record you are granted citizenship.

Everyone in Insaeldor must take and pass a citizenship test their last year of secondary school (usually around the age of 17-18) and is needed to be given citizen rights (right to vote, right to public healthcare, right to hold office etc) although you are still protected under constitutional freedoms (freedom of speech, freedom from unlawful detainment, right to an unbiased court and so on). The test is considered a part of ones final exams before before graduating from Secondary school and going into ether the workforce, military, or higher education.

Immigrants must also take this test but must also know Insaeldic which is offered freely at any and all Insaeldic diplomatic buildings and facilities. You must also not have a violent criminal record from your nation of origin in order to qualify (exceptions are made for specific circumstances) or you are deported back to your nation of origin.

There are three ways by which Westgothic citizenship can be acquired:

  1. By birth, if at least one of the child’s parents has Westgothic citizenship (regardless of birthplace);
  2. By adoption, if under twelve years of age and if at least one of the adoptive parents has Westgothic citizenship; or
  3. By naturalisation, if the applicant has had seven years of continuous residence as a permanent resident, passes the Westgothic Citizenship Test (if between 18 and 60 years of age), is not subject to any criminal prohibitions, and is able to speak Westgothic well enough to communicate with others.

As multiple citizenship is not permitted, naturalisation candidates are required to give up any other citizenships before becoming Westgothic citizens, and people who become naturalised citizens in other countries automatically renounce their Westgothic citizenship in doing so.

How does one gain citizenship in your nation?
There are multiple ways a person can gain Oürtuese citizenship.

  • Naturalization - A person must live in Oürto for six years and have a basic knowledge of Oürtuese or French before applying for citizenship. He/she will fill out a citizenship application and must input true information regarding themselves Any false information will result in rejection of application. If the application is accepted, the applicant will be given a Certificate of Naturalization and a Identification Card through the mail. They will also have to pay NSD $4,000 or complete compulsory military service. Cannot run for national office.

  • Birth in Oürto - A person who is born in Oürto to one or more parents of Oürtuese citizenship and is of Oürtuese descent.

  • Born to a Parent with Citizenship - A person can be a Oürtuese citizen if he/she is born outside of the country, AND has a parent of Oürtuese citizenship, can become a naturalized citizen by default(Skips the normal process and $4,000 exemption) if they apply by age 18. Cannot run for national office.

How does one lose citizenship?
If a naturalized citizen was found to have used false information in his/her citizenship process, his/her citizenship will be lost, or termination of citizenship if it is found the person really does not qualify for citizenship relating to birth.

Can one renounce citizenship?
Yes

Does your country recognize dual/multiple citizenship?
Yes

Well, there's this semipopular game show, "Who Wants To Be An Immigrant"...

Nah, just kidding. Just cross the border from a dictatorial regime, or live here as a permanent resident for five years, for over 60% of each year.

Otherwise, you're a natural citizen if you're born here, or if both your parents are natural citizens.

if a person is born in Lioniel there is no need for additional documents other than a birth certificate (if he/she is born with native Lioniel parents).

If a foreigner wishes to be a part of the confederacy he/she must:
have resided in the country for 3 years, knows the basic facts of the country, and should know the language.
he/she has to sign a form that he/she intends to be naturalized and is not being intimidated, forced, or out of convenience, and all her/his essential documents (birth certificate, social security, medical records, academic records.) must be submitted along with form568.

in cases of dual citizenship; the applicant must choose which country he/she belongs and if it's Lioniel then standard procedures on naturalization will be complied.
