Are there any Natural Landmarks In Your Nation

Postby Eatonville State » Mon Dec 14, 2009 4:26 pm

Eatonville State has one very distinctive natural landmark, Mt. Rainier, a 14,000 foot high dormant volcano that looms in the background.

Here is the majestic mountain in all its glory: http://i531.photobucket.com/albums/dd35 ... -08009.jpg

Well millions of wind carved stones (looking very cylinder like) litter the Numon desert. They are called Hoacas' (Mystical undead fairies) stools
And so it was, that I had never changed.

The northern third of Tolnedraa, including its coast, is composed of very high altitude lands. The edge is ringed with a broad mountain range, while three mountain ranges run north-south or just about in the middle of that, with sheer cliffs and canyons as well as a few smaller mountains on the southern edge of this area. The rest of the area that is not mountains is massive glaciers which are locked permanently in the embrace of the mountains and such, and after thousands of years of volcanic sediment and other natural reasons, the ground has become more or less normal-looking.

Also, we have a statue-fossil-thing that has not been proven as man-made which looks very much like a Lord of Cthul--in the center of the swamps to the south.

Before the coming of Lord Gojira the lands of the Eternal Kawaii had many natural landmarks, all of which now are inaccessable to mortals. The principle one of them, though, is Mount Sanrio, an extremely tall volcanic peak near the center of the nation, said to be the original home of the sacred Sanrio kittens.

For ages, Kawaiians have believed the mountain was a holy site, and Kawaiian ritual daily prayers were held facing it. Following the Kawaiian Diaspora, that ritual has been maintained, which has led to a brisk sale of maps and cartographic programs to ensure that a Kawaiian can pray in the right direction from any point on the globe.

Mt. Reiff: New Olwe's largest and most active volcano. Fortunately dormant for the past fifty years, but still considered quite dangerous. Named for Alex Reiff, one of the few wizards to master the elemental force of lightning.

Pretty Lake: As you might imagine, a pretty lake. Has a small but bustling city built around and named after it. The water is famous for being perfectly reflective, almost like a mirror.

We have some awesome mountain ranges, an equally awesome gulf and desert, a bunch of badass forests and rolling hills of idyllic green grass (dotted with equally idyllic villages), and a moose.

Yes, a moose, a very nice moose, but don't get too close to it.

The best-known landmark in Fatatatutti is the Pacific Ocean. It's our biggest ocean*. It's pretty impressive. It's easy to find, too. Just turn in any direction and go straight ahead. (Caution: may cause drowning in large doses.)

* We claim all of the Pacific Ocean, all of its islands and much of the surrounding land masses, parts of the Indian Ocean and an option on the Atlantic. Some of these claims are disputed by other nations.

Alexlantis is full of forestland. There is a huge mountain range that winds around way up north where it is always covered with beautiful snow. The coasts boast excellent beaches.

Since Fatatatutti is an honorable nation, if a bit too pacifistic for our liking, New Olwe fears no encroachment from them upon our nautical territory. The overlapping claim is of no consequence, and their ships may pass through our waters unharassed.

A great landmark in our nation is the great Osui-san. It is the tallest in our country, which is very mountainous and covered in forests. On the top is a huge lake, which is also a great landmark. Many people hike up the mountain to get exercise and also because it is said to be good luck to bathe in the fresh and clean water of the lakes in Osui-san.

Our most prominent landmark in our nation the Lake of Old Theden, a lake 54 miles (86.9 km) in diameter. The lake is the result of a 75MT hydrogen bomb detonated under the city in the final years of the Great Collapse*, completely erasing the old capital off the map and nearly killed the nation as a whole. With time, the crater left from the blast began to fill in with water, leaving behind the lake we see today. Even with the Age of Reclimation** in 2E122, the surrounding area remains one of the most heavily eradiated zones of the nation.

Ravania is also known for it's many mountain ranges that make up part of its boarder.

* The Event that destroyed the nation of [Old] Ravania and set into motion the rebirth of [New] Ravania, and is the start of the 2 Era on the new Ravanian Calendar.
** A movement brought forth by the Fifth Ravenger, Robena Penzero, in the second era year 122. Under her rule, the nation truly began to rebuild and revitalize itself back up from the eradiated husk of a its former self.

Zackalopolis is home to the world's largest cockroach shaped rock. Standing 150 stories high, The Mighty Roach looms over Zackalopolis. No one really knows where it came from, but there are several theories. Aliens, space gods, glacial activity, plate tectonics, magic, newspaper tycoons, etc. There's also a really big wavepool, but its closed on tuesdays and during thunderstorms.

Maybe you should be glad we're pacifistic, since we don't pursue our claims with military force.

Our biggest wavepool is the Pacific ocean. It isn't really practical to close it on Tuesdays.

Oh. . .do we?
Basically each island have their own Landmarks they can be proud of. The lesser one, perhaps, is the overgrown New Island.
But the remaining has the population lined up with the landmarks to make a perfect ambience.
