Is Prostitution legal in your country?

Postby Kayak » Fri Jan 17, 2014 4:43 am

Prostitution is legal within my country! All genders can use prostitutes (use is the wrong word) and not get caught. All forms are legal and is encouraging more people to be open in their relationships!

What does your country say?

Prostitution in Angkoria is legal, but various prostitution-related activities are not. This includes public solicitation, living on the earnings of a prostitute and maintaining a brothel. Even though it's legal, prostitution is frowned upon by society.

Yes, it is legal to offer sexual activity in return for money in our nation.

However, culturally, our prostitution isn't much like in other nations. Our prostitutes nearly always have degrees in psychology (oftentimes PhDs), and offer some kind of psychological or spiritual service to their customers.

Prostitution is legal in the Mechanocracy, but all components of the sex industry are owned by the state. This is to ensure maximum quality service and protection for the workers.

No. However, it is very common, so we are thinking about legalising it.

Yes but government-regulated. Practicing prostitution without official approval is a crime.

Prostitution is legal in regulated and taxed brothels. "Streetwalking" is an offense punishable by a maximum fine of 25,000 dorins and/or a two-year jail sentence.

Yes, but it is not really seen as a "business" more of an everyday occurrence, it is quite normal for un-married Macks of a certain age to offer large amounts of money to their comrades in exchange for sexual intercourse.

Yes , anyone over the age of 18 can apply for a license to be a prostitute or apply for a license to operate a brothel.

The prostitution license requires mandatory health check to be performed upon application and once every month thereafter. The applicant must also declare that they are applying of their own free will and have an interview with a psi officer to confirm this.

Applying for a brothel license is far more involved process , you must own a premises that is suitable for the purpose and pass a building inspection. There is also a extensive background check to ensure there is no history of felony crimes that would disqualify the applicant from operating a brothel. They must also be able to prove that they have enough employees to operate the business. Of note is that a brothel has zero prostitutes on its payroll, the brothel provides a service to prostitutes by providing them with a room to 'entertain' their clients. The client pays the brothel manager for a room and the prostitute for their services separately. The police regularly conduct random unannounced inspections of brothels to ensure that no prostitutes are being coerced in any way and that every thing is within the law.

Prostitution is legal in designated brothels and all prostitutes must submit a bill of clean health to the government every year. Street Prostitution is illegal.

It's illegal, because the prostitution goes against the ethic, the religion and it tempts head of families, who can commit adultery (capital offense).

It's legal but regulated. Also, it's not seen as a large business but a private practice.

Yes. Regulated and taxed. A licence must be obtained before industry services can be legally sold (similar to suppliers of alcohol or tobacco).
