Why we believe what we believe...

My dear Filipinos, mga kababayan.

Many people of our time are accusing us that we are merely repeating history, looking back into the past and copying what certain people had done. Accusing us as the irrational saying that none in particular is the connection between the economical and socio political immobility of the country and the Chinese question. The state of the nation, they say, the government of our time say that everything is particularly under their control. Well then, if that is true well why wouldn't they control the situation for the majority or if not, all of us could be lifted out of poverty. They also claim that all the things that happen in our country can be explained. They flip on their cameras and try to address the situation, however when asked by certain individuals and activist groups who bring up further and more powerful opposing ideas then to that they remain silent. Over and over again we had been preached that there will be a new order for our suffering nation. The change they say, is here, we are now, they say, facing a new sequence of events that will change this country of ours to the better. Everything that happens dedicated to their definition of "economic change" is theirs (the politicians in power) to blame. Let us have a short summary and dig in deeper to the true state of our nation, the subjects of its politicians, the economy and its workers.

Naturally, our economy was based on farming and agriculture, for we, the archipelago, had been naturally a fixated to this way of life. Any how, we had also our own ways of utilizing our resources all the way back into the past and that made us rich, though due to our environmental position where typhoons, earthquakes and volcanoes our progress has been made laggy and we remain far behind our Asian neighbors. However, that still didn't change the fact that we Filipinos, by god's blessings, had been the most resource rich compared to those that neighbor us. By the time that we, the Filipinos, due to the series of unfortunate, or at best, fortunate enough to be united by colonialism, we had been given the task of defending these lands once more with our own lives. These resources, the lands of the bayan, had been given to us by the divine providence and to that, we should thank him by prayers every single day. It is now understood that we, the Filipinos had been very blessed and very lucky, land and sea, we are resource rich, if not by chance, perhaps by the dictation of destiny.

The government however, still revolves their excuses that our social state cannot be changed due to the lack of resources. Tis statement had come from the same, half-Chinese majority ran government of ours which is very notorious for their corruption in which they all deny as individuals.

We had been, however, under the path in which they (the current government) had built for the sake of "economic change". Many intellectuals however, say that the government could had achieved well enough but only because of our repeated ranting, economic change had been prevented. They still repeat the same old assumptions that says that our job as political activists had only taken away the attention of the people from their "economic change" and due to the lack of support for their movement of their "economic change", again, the "economic change" has been avoided.

Very few have learned to view the problem free of emotion, in its clean form. I will at once begin with the statement they excessively repeat which is “economic change”.

How do they think they can change our economy?

The government in itself has been following the plan of attracting foreign investors in which they claim can totally change our country. agreed, profit may be claimed by the government should they be able to attract these Chinese businessmen into our lands so they may reserve their share of our natural resources, and from that capitalism for raw materials, the government may be able to attain profit. The Chinese style of business over takes that idea, seeing how tall the buildings are in Hongkong, Macao and how very "progressive" Beijing is at the moment, they seek to copy the Chinese way of attaining that so-called progress so that we may be like them.

However, in the process, the welfare of the Filipino workers has been neglected by the government. Like i told before, the Philippines, is fit for agriculture, we before had been very rich due to that kind of industry yet somehow after Marcos the government has seeked to dismiss the agricultural business and go into even "greater heights" by adventuring into the Chinese way. They say that "economic change" can be attained if we, like the Chinese, have these buildings, tall buildings, as seeing tall buildings and the delight to reduce our rich forests into Chinese or foreign capitalist run mining holes for the profit. What comes after for the Filipino people in the process of the attempt to achieve what the western nations had achieved. My dear friends, when we stuck our industry sector into agriculture as our main industry next to steel and lumber, we were the provider and the top exporter of Asia. Until the time when we had become too liberal in our economic policies and decided to do foreigners, who know and care little of the Philippines and its people, do the business, our economic path has become so westernized. Japan, they are a nation with little resources and they also run along the typhoon belt and the ring of fire but unlike us, their national politics are traditional and they are run by their own race and people. Since everyone of them are resorted to be Japanese in their way of life, they support that their own people should raise up and be inventive for their own race to gain and develop from this. But in the Philippines, it is the other way around, we are not run by our own people and that we the Filipinos are not being supported by our own government cause they are not one of us for them to support us, they are just there to gain...for who? For us? As they still follow their economic plans all the economy is resorted for the profit of the certain politicians alone.

As for the corruption and the denial being expressed by the government...may they try to stage what they can in making trials to remove the PDAF, BADAF but the pork barrel will always remain one way or another. The government and who is in it which is in charge of us right now are wise in a form of deceit. If we are ruled by the same people...corruption and decadence will always remain.

The Philippines is actually the smartest, though only second the the US, when it comes to agricultural or rice engineering, the rice institute of the Philippines re the best inventors of these very resistant crops yet again, the current government of ours, very doubtful that majority of them are even considered to be Filipino, believes that our economy can only change by attracting investors. Give thanks Filipino people as to why you and your identity has been reduced to be the most ridiculed in the entire world, as to why many of you are poor, as to why our country is in economic ruin, to those people, to the government whose plans had destroyed our country and had lead us astray.

The government in their current campaigns had repeated and repeated their slogans of "for the common good!" or if not, "For the Filipino welfare and stand by us, fellow Filipinos." Aber, since when had we ever had seen a politician in power had had neither very small eyes and lacking of Chinese blood? Maybe it is because that why we had been economically been lead astray is because the politicians who are neither Filipino in physique nor thinking to see what their foreign ideas are doing for their country.

While they claim the economy is rising and rising, what is coming to us? Are we even feeling the economic change or is it all for profit in which whose blessings are only limited to the foreign oligarchy that run our nation. Capitalism, and consumerism had never been in our character as Filipinos, we had resorted our own societal ways that we the bayan should rest aside as a community and everyone should contribute for the sake of the development of the whole of this bayan. We all resort to the love for family but the Chinese never go to this, they instead resort to ideas that individuals could only achieve more alone as they gain greater freedom and prosperity. This idea however, has been broken by the knowledge of the common good itself that no man in itself is an island and everyone should contribute for that common good.

Common good, is the pat not only to the development of our economy but also in our society but as long as not everyone would want to contribute in it into this collectivist society, as long as there are lonesharks, businessmen and capitalist, this society will always remain divided, common good and peace may never completely exist. However, as much as the socialism in China claims that they are collectivist and they have their own version of the successful bayan, in fact, their people are suffering as everything in that country is centered on the state, the state, is centered on their communist party and their party is centered on their leaders. Therefore, only the leaders are gaining from all this and the rest who are far from him gain less to nothing. As much as we speculate, as political analysts, China has never been communist, instead, Mao had given the path open for the construction of a comfy seat and place for their "communist" party leaders. Well in fact, societal Darwinism exists in an ambiguous form where their society had purely been centered on the government and if you aren't the government, you are nothing. What, in all these conditions, is making their country truly communist when social equality could even barely exist there? While they claim that nations beyond them are filthy capitalists and inequal, had they seen themselves? Had they seen themselves supporting the corrupt north Korean regimes who at all are centered on their Kim jong-Budha?

They further declare that they praise Stalin before and that Mao and his communist party had made some mistakes. Well then we should clap our hands as they had at least declared that their Chinese pope and his conclave has made mistakes! But they turn and hide behind the end as they claim it justifies the means. The fact that Mao in the process of his economic campaign known to us as the "great leap forward", 200 people died in starvation. To this, their communist party concludes, "Just look at us, at least we are better than what we were before!".

But the society should learn not to follow this as immorality has been revealed in their ways. They say China of today is better than the China of before, will in fact, China has never been better in their societal paths, when true equality and justice is seeked, consequences are seen. China and the Chinese could not even be seen supporting the rights of the foreign peoples, where are they when the Uyghurs demanded for their rights and the recognition of their identity? Their movement were peaceful but since it is against the Chinese centrism, they had instead been regarded as terrorists.

Sorrowful, is what i say to the state of China today, though when the world thinks of China they think of the great wall, the fireworks, the noodles and the forbidden city not minding deeper things happening inside the nation. When one is asked if one could visit China here in the Philippines, one shouts "Sure!" fast enough.

But the fact that we are slowly copying the consumerist and capitalist policies of the foreign influenced politicians, our path to becoming a China is inevitable. Our path to inequality is inevitable. Many tried to awaken the public and got killed, most of them, whose movements meant true change are cheated on if their influence has become truly competent. Especially during elections. These are the consequences of fighting for solidarity.

Our economy, will be ruined after sometime because we had been lost from the knowledge to where we are best at, that is because of the fact that our government wants Filipinos to be other than Filipino, they want them to be westernized. In the process of this westernization, we had been reduced to becoming the underdog. These are the consequences of being influenced too much by others, we learn not to be ourselves rather we try to be the other.

For the intellectuals that try their best to support the government trying to outmaneuver us from being proud Filipinos as a key to change, would you please confront the chief editor with this and allow me to listen? Also, the “economic change” emphasizes again and again that they should be followed no matter if they are wrong, corrupt, liar, cheaters or what else you could see in Satan. Yes, we are the true "socialists" cause we care much for our society, in which we call the bayan. Intellectuals, I recommend that you first go to the “internet ” and back to the “ government” and tell them that we are socialists because I myself couldn’t care less how I am called, whether reactionary, Pan-Filipino, a Junker, big industrialist or a communist – I am and will remain a Filipino national subjective progressivist. I have my program in front of me and, as I said earlier, I will pursue it to the last spark of my strength and the last breath in my lungs.

Mabuhay comrades!

"It paints the Chinese race in a negative tone."-Premier Wei Fenghe

The "Librong Bayan" is banned, and any of it found in Greater Socialist China will burn. But apart from that, many Asigna experts and analysts began reading the book, to look deeper into Terten's policies and beliefs.

When Terten read the papers and saw this as part of the commentary, which was right next to Quirina's positive review, Terten found himself snickering and laughing at the negative reviews of his own book.

"Surely the Chinese has banned this to cover up the character of their government." His colleagues then started to argue with him that he should not had given a book like that to his enemies or it will only add fuel to the fire. Terten, who was a gifted speaker overtook them in the oral argument which lead his colleagues into silence.

"Don't worry." Terten grinned to them. "There's a chapter 2."

"The book, while it may not portray the Chinese people in a positive light, is a great book that will give Eminrallians a glimpse of Asigna Philippine's history"

-former Education Minister Jesse Ryeman.

"The book is similar to Mein Kampf. It highlights current Asigna policy against the Chinese people. The Federation of Eminral Republic must act to ban this book in Eminral.

-Huang Bohai, Governor of Jilin Prefecture, New Manchuria.

The Librong Bayan have been added to the Eminral National Library in Eminral City. The book is currently in Top 25 of Top 50 most popular books for the month of November, and is expected to rise.

Because of the still ongoing war the Free Tristanian Office of Censorship has declined to allow the publication and sale of the book within Free Tristania but the King himself has been seen reading the book in it's original Tagalog (which he speaks fluently). He was quoted as saying:

"This really is essential material if you want to understand the present-day Philippines. I think that the Office of Censorship should allow its publication and just focus on dealing with the matters for which it was established."

Vice Warlord Iegres Vonotirahk, current head of state of the republic of Stahn, has read the book with great interest.

Despite of some minor errors and typo's and Vonotirahk's own limited knowledge of the situation in the nation of Asigna, The Philippines and in particular the nation of China, it is obviously one of the most insightful political thesis in the whole of Terra.

As Stahn has never come into contact with China or was even aware of this nation's existence prior to establishing diplomatic relations with Asigna, it was not always easy for the vice warlord to relate.
However, the message of self reliance, independence, ethical governing and international diversification he found truly inspiring.

There is however something very unstahnese about a book like this.

The Stahnese philosophy is that each Stahnese citizen has the duty to find his or her own moral compass and system. The state is there to provide the environment in which the people can prosper, grow and most of all find and develop their own set of principles.
That is also why for example we don't have any books of law.

If there is a problem that is a concern to the whole nation, it is the duty of the national government to deal with this.

If it is a concern to a region, the people of the region will be facilitated by the state to deal with this how they see fit.

All the state demands is for its people to think for themselves, not bring harm the state and to provide what the state asks them to provide as the state will provide for them.
The duty of either party is to never ask more then the other party can give and, if necessary, to provide all that it can give.

That is the arrangement in Stahn. The closest thing to a nationwide moral system we have, which is as simple as it is fundamental.

There are no delusions on that Stahn is a utopia or that the Stahnese way is infallible. But this is how it works in Stahn and it has served the republic well.

Our leader has decided that the book of "Librong Bayan" is from now on compulsorily reading in the Stahnese secondary colleges, alongside other great literature like Prof. Dr. Mr. Ir. Diederik Harddonkey's "Vom Kriege und die Kunst des Krieges".

Terten himself offers back sincere gratitude and surprise as he never expected the people nor the government of Stahn to get or take the book seriously just like the majority. He then issued a statement as a reply for the vice warlord's review:

"This social and political revolution...will be ours. We must start this by education...poride for country...determination to fight, thedesire and hope to win..must exist in character for every people of the world. That is the only way humanity may be able to live on in rough times. Understanding each other will always mean necessary at times of peace...but as of today...we are at war."

Vice Warlord Iegres Vonotirahk sighed with frustration.

"I am sorry for the misunderstanding. We wish your nation the best and we see great future in our mutual friendship."

Then he called of all the branches of the Stahnese armed forces.

"False alarm. There was a misunderstanding. Stand down all troops!"

It took him a while to call off the mobilization. For in Stahn it only takes the push on one button to order the whole nation to start preparing with hast for a total war scenario, but to withdraw the order, the commanders of every single branch have to be personally contacted by the head of state.

When the first copies reached New Petrograd(Bogota),the critics were largely positive of the book as a work of literature but ambivelent towards the Anti-Chinese views of Eric Terten. The Chinese community in New Petrograd and New Moscow(Panama City),is outraged at it's message and wealthy Chinese Businessmen finance Anti-Asigna Protests in New Petrograd and New Moscow.

As the first copy of Librong Bayan reached Das-Husland, Jebediah received it in a grand ceremony. Doctadeth and the staff of Das-Husland's command read it, as required to by the laws of engagement. Know thine enemy. Several copies leaked out onto the black market and were subsequently translated into Huslandian. Not a great seller.

"The book known as Librong bayan is a book which is typically racist and paints the Chinese in a horrible way. The Chinese of our nation, the 98% of our nation, would clearly be very incensed. It is not the responsibility of the government if actions by the peoples get out of hand. On another note, however, Southern Island Main University has just declared it necessary reading for all students in International Relations, as this highlights the dangers of racially-based politics practised by the Asigna." -- Dr. Law-Yeung Ping, Minister for Education

"An interesting read. While I am unsure of if I agree with its points and reasoning,it will probably function as a must read for everybody who intends to understand the regional politics and those of the Asigna."
In addition a small order for 5 copies has been given by the Imperial Archives, and another 1000 have been ordered by the Imperial Academy for Political Studies.

After reading the book for days, the Asigna analysts and experts decided to burn the books in the streets. People danced and cheered. They also made effigies of Terten and burned it.

The news of the book burning did not take long for it to reach the ears of the Asigna Filipino government itself. Terten, the author, was not particularly happy with the "barbarity" being displayed by his vowed long term enemy. The festival of the Asigna party had to be canceled "Look at the Chinese..." Terten smirked speaking to his colleague politicians in the Malacanang palace. His colleagues were reminded not to make a wrong implication as the punong (leader) was in his bad mood today. They remained silence as Terten went on. "The book was only intended for those who are able to understand it. As for the truly corrupt is not able to understand the plies of the oppressed...we now see what is happening here." His propaganda minister, Adriano Timente, who was eagerly listening to him replied. "The Chinese are the corrupt. How obvious it is. We need not to show mercy for those who had mercilessly had stolen what we worked hard for." Terten then pressed his hands together and had rested his chin on it. "I am afraid we are. We let the Chinese based liberal party, the opposition party in the parliament, we still let Taiwan exist as a state and China is something we still let in our way. This time, today..." Terten then stood up and started addressing his fellow officials.

"Ladies and gentlemen as of today i proudly tell you right now that i was never in a bad mood." Terten admitted a joke after which a loud laugh emanated in the room.

"We see them...mga kababayan...burn our books. Not even trying to understand the matter of our situation that we had faced. Today...this is no longer a time for bluffing...this is a time for revolution." Terten then gestured a clenched fist in the air and the people in the room then cheered and applauded in approval.

The following morning, an Asigna party agent was killed by an unknown assailant as he was heading for Hongkong by a cruise liner. Immediately, the propaganda ministry blamed the Chinese as the murderers. An hour after the declaration of the murder of the Filipino man, Timente then declared a statement in Filipino.

"To those who strike us, we say we will rather not turn the left cheek for them, as for strength, pride and power, we strike them back!"

Doctadeth sat, his face livid and his rage palpable. The minister for domestic affairs stood in front of him, as well as the Minister of civil protection. "Librong Bayan was pirated to the people, and translated. There are copies in the streets being read by our work units". The Ministers mumbled an apology, which Doctadeth didn't even bother replying to. "pacify the people, punish them and then destroy the translations and books."

Thirty five platoons of civil police descended on Hell-Dasland, the capital city. They began systematically searching and purging the suburbs of cities of Das-Husland in an effort to find the copies. Riots began occuring as the work units resented the invasions of privacy, and the police began suppressing them with brutal force.

The Cin commends this book for it's political values and commentary, and it has been selected as "Recommended Reading" for students at the Campus Universalis, one of the highest-ranked universities in Chalkia.

After hearing the assassination of an Asigna party agent and Terten becoming rhetoric, General Secretary Chang Wanquan, sitting in his desk, was in a good mood, after hearing the news that PLA soldiers have occupied a strategic location in enemy territory. "Looks like someone hates Asigna" he stated. "I wasn't expecting this, but hey, some group could hate Asigna."
