Today representatives from the senate confirmed the rumours around negotiations with the NEC and the governments intent on joining this organization, but with next to no other information on the subject. This has since lead to rampant speculation about the governments intent with this statement with the theories of the possible consequences ranging from foreign products outcompeting local industry to the more wild ones such as, according to a gentleman with a tinfoil hat, "Aliens are behind it!". The matriarch could not be reached for comments on the subject matter despite many attempts to do so.

The question is now where does this great nation stand in this new playing field? Are the politicians biting off more than they can chew? Should we even consort with some of these other members in the first place? Only time will tell and once we know, it will be shared on the premier news network in Valkyrja!

Last Day For The NEC Conference

VILIKAREV - Yesterday was the third and final day for the NEC negotiations in Vilikarev. After this, the only nation that entered the union was Vulkanas, although the NEC officially counts with eight nations: Bienvia, Northwest Isles, Skogaland, Berk Island, Valkyrja, Katrineholmia, Aboveland and Vulkanas.
During this last meeting, the diplomats explained why/not they decided to join the alliance.
In the following weeks, it is expected for the NEC to sign the official union's treaty, elect the union's President, establish the union's flag and choose the union's headquarters. More details will be revealed later.

Today, the results of the referendum on NEC membership, which began last week, have been announced. After a turnout of almost 80% of voters in the nation, the referendum has passed, with 76% of people voting in favor of joining the NEC. This comes as great and exciting news in a time where Camerania is competing internationally in sports, and will soon be entering a delegation for the Olympic Games. This economic union is not only an advancement for the nation's economy, but also one for the advancement of diplomacy among our nearby neighbors. The future holds many potential wonders, and it seems that the Cameranian people have found cooperation to be the key to unlocking them.

Neurax Spotted in Aboveland

AYARII - One of the staff of the Yellow Palace (presidential house) has been diagnosed with mild Neurax worm. Tom Baker, 67, had helped Mangussen into and out of the house on his visit. His case is very slight, but might worsen in the near future. Other staff have been experiencing the same symptoms, including Mænzïj himself. Hospitals in Aboveland have begun stocking up on resources to prepare for a possible pandemic. Aboveland has been placed on high alert, and the police force has been warned to stop any unusual activity.

NEW UNDERGROUND LINE OPENED TO PUBLIC

Just today, the third underground line was finally opened, after over eight months of hard works around it. The line is named "Washodnaja" - the Eastern and has 16 stations, with 4 interchanges, between Zahodnaja and Centralnaja lines. Washodnaja created many opportunities to people living on the right side of the city, allowing them to move easily from work to home and, by changing lines, even reach the westernmost station of Gradopol sunderground within 40 minutes.

There was official opening at Zariječe station, where the president of Gradopol, Slavislav Kurotijski cut the sash, officialy initiating the movement in the area. On the first day, over 150'000 passengers were carried, mostly near the central stations, from Zariječe to Katedra Svjatovo Jana.

This line uses ten new and beautiful 6-carriage trains Alstrom Metropolis, built in 2013 for the purposes of transport in the capital city. Each of them is OPO, one person operation train and can carry up to 270 people, making it very fast, effective and capacious mean of transport.

Because of the development plans made in recent years, each of underground station has a little market inside or upside the station, increasing the values of commerce. But thanks to Marija Tevenchuk, well-known Gradopoli architect, there are also plenty of artistic designs also - blue neon lights that flash and pulse at the Milenijum station, Danish style and designs at the Kopenhaskaja station (with even some Danish restaurants) or futuristic roof at Zariječe

The aim of city development studio is to create five lines until 2020, allowing people even form the neighbouring towns to get fast to the city centre. Currently engineers work on the fourth line, the southern one and the rumours are said that the fifth line would be the circle one or the far way lane. Arcticair Flight 151 Crashes in The Union of Sjælland and Fyn

AYARII - Awful news of Arcticair flight 151, a scheduled domestic flight to Arklay, Londsdale, was attacked in midair and suffered an onboard fire and explosive decompression.

Upon an emergency landing in a major airport in the city of Odense, the right side of the aircraft was completely charred and melting, thanks to the composites used in the aircraft. Several passengers suffered severe burns, cooled down by the rushing air from the void. Evacuation was hell, with the smoke stuffing the front of the aircraft and the flames licking the skin of the closest to the wings. The landing was made at an angle of 32 degrees veering to the left, which snapped the wingtip off and scraped the engine. One right side emergency slide was partially melted and burnt some passengers jumping off. Of the 236 people on board, 16 perished and 132 suffered injuries, with 55 being serious and 3 almost fatal.

The investigation is ongoing.

Neurax Worm Infection Rates Soar, Borders Locked Down, Vulkanas Could be Doomed

After almost a week of testing and recording infection rates, the levels of Neurax Worm infection are far higher than what was first expected. It is estimated that currently, assuming that there are still undiscovered cases, approximately 45% of the population is infected. To what level these people are infected is unknown as of yet, but this is the number confirmed to be at "stage 1" of infection. A more shuddering statistic is an estimate that infection will be at 100% within a month.

To combat this all borders have been locked down, all flights cancelled, all ports closed. This is in an effort to limit the spread to other nations of the region.

Black Box Reveals Frightening Discovery, Flights to Vulkanas Cancelled & Abovian Neurax Weak, Survivable

AYARII - Upon speaking with witnesses, retrieving the black boxes and listening to the audio, flight 151 was reported to have been shoe bombed. The audio depicts the two pilots having a frantic discussion as to who was the person in the back. A loud boom followed by a shrieking rip signalized the explosive decompression decompression.

Perhaps the most shocking witness mentioned the bombers' words before detonating the shoe. He was reported to have said something along the lines of:

Months of careful planning and talks have finally resulted when Miron Kravijević, the president of Mienskian Football Union (Mjenskaja Unja Pilkarskaja) announced that he is trying to create Nordic Lands Football Association, where nations from all over the region can at last try their powers together, in organised and competitive environment. Soon, official talks and apllication will take place - there is a need to propose the headquarters, president, logos and rules, as long as some tournaments.

May Ištar serve as the NLFA headquarters? This big city is known for its very good soccer teams and proffesional stadiums and arenas.

Kravijević's speech was greated with loud applauses, but also with many questions - who will fund that investement? Why Miensk has proposed it, not any other nation and why it took so much time? Sport fans are very enthusiastic about this idea, but there are many, especailly bussinessmen and politicians, that look for the hole in the whole. Now presidents of football unions from other countries are invited to Ištar, where the talks will soon begin. It's the right time for sport to play its part in Nordic Lands!

The SDR will be conducting an airlift of food and other necessities such as protection masks for the non-infected members of the populace to Vulkanas. This was agreed on by the Politburo of the SDR earlier this morning. Supplies will be dropped in for example the cities of Rykinsvik, Vulkanvik, Indivik and Monograd.

Revolts Break Out At Antrov, Kusz

ANTROV - After 72 years of being a protectorate of Bienvia, a large group of people stroked Antrov yesterday, protesting for Kusz's liberty. The Bienvian Riot Police has been mobilised from Vilikarev, Spavanolorov and Opölski to help the Kuszian Riot Police, although they had the situation well controlled.
There were, approximately, 500 protesters, which after the riot 36 were injured. 47 civilians and 13 policemen were injured, also, although there were no mortal victims. Major material loss was some broken statues, burned cars and vandalised houses, caused with Molotov's, baseball bats and low caliber pistols. The Antrov Police Department promised to enlarge the Law and Order budget, as well as in the rest of the nation. It is possible that some of the protesters are in contact with the Aboveland Fascist Front for Victory. Other revolts are expected if Fiodor Ovcharenko, the Czar, doesn't take any more measurements besides the budget rise.
If any more riots are caused for this specific reason, the Bienvian DEFCON level will be increased to 4.

AFFfV Strikes in Ayarii, People Take to the Streets & ASA Back in Action

AYARII - The AFFfV bombed Freedom Square today with a car bomb. It was a sign of protest against the high taxes, welfare and left-leaning political compass. The car bomb, an Abcarc Salamander, exploded at about 3:00PM local time and killed 3 people, injuring 51, 32 seriously. That section of the avenue, Feerst Av., was closed down for five hours, and all traffic in the whole city was interrupted, since Feerst is the main avenue in Ayarii. Nevertheless, whilst cleanup efforts were in effect, a mass of protesters stormed Freedom Square with signs, banners and horns in a protest not against the government, but against the AFFfV. Signs included phrases like:

"GO HOME FASCISTS, YOU'RE DRUNK"

"FASCISTS DON'T BELONG IN HEAVEN"

"ABOVELAND? FASCIST? NOPE."

"ABOVELAND IS FOR PEACE, NOT FOR WARMONGERS"

President Mandzij issued a letter out to all households in the nation. It said:

I understand your grief. You wouldn't understand mine. Aboveland is a peaceful nation, where warmongers are not welcome, even with our level of diversity. Unfortunately, an AFFfV main base or meeting place are unable to be found. Abovian agents are trying to crack the complex code to the puzzle that is Aboveland's peace and exclusion of war. Once we can locate the AFFfV, we will either deport them or dispose of them in the most humane way possible. Aboveland will restrict deadly force until it is extremely necessary. Hospitals Flood With Infections and Injury, Riots in the Streets, Vulkanas Plunging into Anarchy

Neurax outbreak is now higher than ever in Vulkanas, and it is taking it's toll on the healthcare system. Hospitals are now packed full of infected citizens, however there is no way of treating them yet. As well as infected patients, hospitals are also having to treat non-infected citizens who have suffered injuries caused by citizens at higher infection stages, who have been entirely possessed by the worm. Common symptoms among higher stage worm hosts include aggression (thus giving the desire to kill others) as well as depression (thus giving the desire to kill themselves). Unfortunately, the mix of infected and non-infected patients in hospitals greatly endangers staff and patients, as the worm is likely to spread. Observation of several infected people has shown that after they reach stage 4 of infection (see below) they are no longer uncomfortable because of the presence of the worm, quite the contrary, they start to love the worm. =

The aggression symptoms caused by the worm have by far been the most dangerous in recent days, sparking riots across the country. With police becoming infected too, law enforcement is struggling to fight infected citizens and stop riots. It would seem that this is the start of a slippery slope that will plunge Vulkanas into complete anarchy, with healthy citizens becoming a minority. Riots have seen death rates soar recently, and as a result AVMG Vulkanas will be migrating all broadcasting from Rykinsvik to Ayarii in Aboveland.

Attack in Baleü Border

AYARII - AFFfV attacked once again, this time with a suicide bomber, on the SDR/Aboveland border. The terrorist group blew the wall and let an estimated 10,000 people stampede into Aboveland. In the stampede, as dust and leaves kicked up, over 400 people were killed. Of the 50,000, at least 2,000 were detained in police stations. The rest are unknown of, but are at least concealed within Baleü borders. The AFFfV calls the bombing a protest towards the strict border regulations. Reportedly, and according to the AFFfV, gun and explosive smugglers were amongst the ones who crossed.

Also according to the AFFfV, all explosives used up to now were home made, and not smuggled nor bought. Crime scene investigations depict the exact words of the terrorists.

Protests in Ayarii exploded today, reaching numbers of up to 150,000 Abovians. The signs read the same as yesterday, and the nature of the protests was peaceful once again.

VILIKAREV - The Bienvian Parliament is discussing the possibility to make another constitutional change due to the many changes the nation is experiencing. This reform should include the change of the Prime Minister's and Secretary of State's charge (President and Vice-President) and the creation of the Prime Minister and Secretary of State charges to control all the ministries. The Parliament is going to vote this evening.

ANTROV - More revolts referent to Kusz's liberty were confirmed in many of the principal Kuszian cities: Antrov, Skalmorsk, Brostenovgrad and Janelsk. This protests variate from posters in the walls to massive riots taken in the streets.

Today, Lithuania declare independence from Farshonia but it wasn't recognize by foreign countries. 50 000 Lithuanians revolt in Kaunas storming its city hall and raise their flag which sparks the revolution. Lithuanian rebel group Lithuanian National Front start to steal tanks, helicopters, and armored cars since they sneak to Farshonian bases and no one notices. Due to the recent issues in neighbouring countries, the amount of conscripted soldiers opting for a career within the military has soared. Sources are a bit vague on precisely how many of the conscriptee do so, but its estimated to be somewhere around 30% to 40% compared to the old amount which was said to be only 5% to 10%. Several members of the valkyrjan high command has expressed great joy at these news, saying such things as "We'll welcome anyone willing to lay down their lives to protect our glorious nation!" and "Yesssss! This means more money for the budg- When did you start filming?!".

More troops and tanks has also been stationed across the valkyrjan landborders while the navy, having recently finished building several new warships, has stepped up their patrols of the sea. Something which has had a surprisingly positive effect as crime in these regions has dropped by half, leading to some politicians claiming that perhaps the matriarch should approve of allowing the military to patrol the rest of the nations many regions. Though that led to a rather heated argument in the senate and according to rumours it ended with a hospital visit by two ministers.

TWO MASKED MEN CAPTURED BY SDR TROOPS NEAR THE BALEÜ BORDER-WALL!

Two masked men were captured by a K-9 squad patrolling the Baleü border-wall earlier today. The men were armed and spoke Danish, English and broken Swedish in an Abovian accent. The men had their weapons confiscated and could be interrogated by officers from the PSD (Public Security Directorate of the SDR) on location at an NFA (Nationella Folkarmén/National People's Army) outpost near the wall. The two men remain in custody of the PSD.

"Well, We were patrolling the wall here when we saw these two men wearing balaclavas near the wall taking notes, About 3 kilometers or so further up along the wall here. They had this little black notebook that they wrote things in. So we let our dogs loose and they must've been really surprised because i don't think they had even seen us coming. *laughs*...I shouted that if they don't stand down our dogs would tear them to shreds and they put their hands up. We frisked them and found on their persons: Weaponry in the form of a submachinegun and pistols, Namely a MAC-10 and two PM Makarov handguns. A block of plastic explosive and detonator-unit was also discovered and confiscated. I have no idea what they were up to but they weren't on a picnic, I can tell you that. When we walked them back to the basecamp one of them told me that "Our brothers will unleash something big across that border, And you can't stop it nor can they!" and he laughed and ended with "Good luck finding the rest". That was rather scary to be honest.

INCREASED PATROLS ON THE BORDER

Patrols on the SDR/Aboveland-border has increased after the capture of the two armed masked men 3 kilometers north of the Abovian city of Baleü on the SDR-side of the wall. Military activity in the area overall will increase and an additional force of 2000 troops and 30 armoured vehicles is on its way to the wall as this goes out.

Constitution Reform, NEC Updates, Attack To The Vlaasteho, BNSA To Continue Project Asgard

VILIKAREV - After almost a day of voting, the Parliament has passed this legislation, in order to reform the Constitution. The Prime Minister position has been changed to President, as well as the Secretary of State's (vice-President). Also, the position for the Prime Minister and Secretary of State theirselves were opened, for the sake of a better Ministry administration. The two masked men who were arrested near the SDR/Aboveland border-wall have admitted to being part of the AFFfV or Aboveland Fascist Front for Victory, Says a PSD officer who does not want to be named but instead chooses to appear by his codename "Lärkan" ("The Lark"). "The Lark" says that the men admitted to being part of the AFFfV after being subjected to "Waterboarding, Swedish style" (Like regular waterboarding except instead of water, Broth from Surströmming (Fermented herring) is used, Which is known for its otherworldly foul stench), An extreme method of information-gathering practiced by the PSD.

"The Lark" mentioned that the men warned not only Aboveland and the SDR for "Extreme actions" but also other nations such as Bienvia, Vulkanas, Amouraland and Valkyrja. The men's mission (According to what they told the PSD) was to make measurements on the wall and plant explosives that would be triggered to make a new hole to let more smugglers into Aboveland. What the K-9 Patrol Unit did was big, In other words.
The two men will remain in the custody of the PSD for further questioning.

Aproximately 2000 new troops arrived along with 30 armoured vehicles at the SDR/Aboveland-border about 30 minutes ago.
Among these troops is the elite of the SDR: "Raven Batallion"/42nd Ranger Batallion.
